Insisted on saying goodbye on camera on the rival promotion. Rightfully so because it's not just a business, it's a brotherhood.

Bobby all emotional and choked up while saying goodbye to his best friend...heartbreaking. RIP you two. We still remember you.

​@anthonycampos8057 I think that WCW was initially afraid of being sued, not being disrespectful to Gorilla. The WWF was suing over everything at that point.

It makes my heart smile every time I watch old WWF shows and hear Gorilla & The Brain’s commentary! 🧠🎙🦍

I worked at the Spectrum from 1992 thru 1995. One night during a WWE event. There was a tap on my shoulder. I turned around. Gorilla was behind me with his grand son on his shoulders. Quite an impressive display. 15 feet of Monsoon's. Great family. All of the best !!!

In my teens, my dad rented a food and beverage stand for me to run on the boardwalk in Atlantic City. Imagine my surprise when just before closing, I turn around and Bruno and Gorilla are standing at the counter. They were really hungry so I uncovered and unwrapped stuff and turned the grill on for them. They generously gave me a 20 dollar bill and told me to keep the change (their bill was only around $6.00--this was in the early 80s). Of course I recognized them and they were really very nice guys--I remember Gorilla was especially glib with little humorous asides. Seeing them up close and personal, I assure you, these guys were huge! I remember shaking Bruno's hand, which was the size of a baseball glove. Thanks for remembering the great Gorilla Monsoon!

They're once again back together calling matches such as Bruno Sammartino vs Superstar Billy Graham

The only two other commentators that come close to being as good as them to with Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler but Bobby The Brain Heenan and gorilla monsoon we're definitely major parts of my '80s childhood

These two truly loved each other.

Seeing The Brain at the end saying good bye My Friend, is sad. That is one of the worst feelings one can have. Saying goodbye. I feel his pain. God Bless Gorilla and the Brain. 🙏

I remember one time Heenan had on a Raiders jacket I believe and Gorilla made Heenan take it off saying he didn't like the team, those guys were the funniest!!😀😀😀

It rip's your heart out seeing bobby, after saying goodbye to gorilla. Bobby was seconds away from crying like Niagara fall's. Very painful.

Yeah he almost lost it. But he was a pro and loved the business and managed to keep it together. He probably imagined hearing Gorilla say “Will you stop”. Then got back to work.

Bobby Heenan and gorilla monsoon were such a awesome team together it's like they honestly had me convinced that they both sincerely hated each other but they were like the closest friends in the world and I could tell Bobby was hurt when he made that announcement.

I met those 2 in Atlantic City during wrestle mania 4 where they filmed the boardwalk segment of prime time wrestling . Gorilla was very nice guy and Bobby was just funny as hell he was cracking jokes saying don’t step on any bananas etc

No one could repeat the banter between heenan and monsoon…as exciting as the wrestling was, these 2 always held my attention even as a little kid…RIP to these legends that have left us

I knew of Gene Okerlund and Bobby The Brain Heenan more that Gorilla Monsoon. I paid attention to Monsoon because of Heenan's great words of Monsoon. Bobby was such a great announcer.

You know that Gorilla and Bobby were good friends when at the end of Bobby Hernans Hall of Fame speech. Bobby says " I wish Monsoon were here"

Never a dull moment with the greats Bobby and Gorilla.....R.I.P guys ........

I remember, back in the mid to late 80s as a kid watching WWF Primetime. Gorilla and Heenan were hosting. I would often skip the matches and just listen to their commentary and banter in between. They were that entertaining to watch. Just a perfect pair and you got the sense they really liked each other on-air, even though their skits were against each other. They are both very missed.

Everytime i see Bobby's farewell to Monsoon I cant help but well up. There is such emotion in his voice and in his eyes. Its just heartbreaking. May they both Rest In Piece.

Could have been a great comedy team if they wanted to.

This put some tears in my eyes. Gorilla Monsoon was one of the best ever to do it. Wrestling, announcing, being the on-screen WWF President; there was nothing he couldn't do. His commentary with Bobby Heenan was comic gold. Nobody will ever come close to his greatness. RIP, Gorilla.

Gorilla & The Brain were the best commentary duo in wrestling! RIP to the both of them. Now they're commentating in Heaven.

I loved Gorilla on commentary so much more than McMahon back in the day. Gorilla and Bobby Heenan were absolutely golden, and he paired up nicely with Jesse Ventura as well.

Bobby had such a big heart, he was hurting so bad while doing his job, grieving over his loss of his friend. The brain was a great man.

I miss these two men so much 😭. Wrestling will never be the same without them.

Gorilla monsoon and Bobby the brain heenan a match made in heaven 2 all time greats

I remember watching Gorilla Monsoon wrestle when I was a little girl, I thought he was a gorilla because he was big, and all harry, my brothers and I lived with our grandparents, and they were huge wrestling fans, we went to the matches every time they wrestled in San Diego, I was 8 so, that would have been in 1966.

I didn't know that his son was that referee. So tragic he died so young. RIP to both x

Man Bobby loved gorilla it broke his heart when he died ...but they are together again RIP to the 2 greats they can never be replaced

Woah. I never knew Joey was his son. I remember his son when i was a kid and heard about the car accident...i never watched Gorilla wrestle as i was a kid in the amazing 80's but he was by far one of the very best at what he did which was calling matches with everyone...him and Bobby were the two best in the business and there is not a close second in my opinion

They were truly the best of friends off the air and behind the scenes. Their work on WWF Primetime was the stuff of legends. I loved that show just for their interactions.

One thing I'm sad about is never meeting and shaking the hand of Gorilla Monsoon. A Man's man. A sweetheart on camera and most fans who had the honor of meeting him say off camera as well. He got me pumped for the upcoming PPVs when I was a kid. I'll never get tired of his sayings. That's for sure.

I figured he was in education before turning pro. His intellect was through the roof!

He was only 62 when he passed that was pretty young

Bobby's line at the end cracked me. My eyes got wet. Those 2 were my childhood. They were almost never nice to each other (playfully of course) so hearing Bobby break kayfabe that once was a big deal.

When Gorilla died, part of Bobby died as well. They were best friends and respected each other.

He was the dad I wish I had. Gorilla was a wonderful man. He always had a good lesson to teach. Heaven needed a champion!

Gorilla and the weasel are and we’re my childhood… I grew up watching them on ppvs and superstars of wrestling.. ❤❤ I miss them both!
