Jerry Springer once anchored the news in Cincinnati and was briefly mayor there. He also got in a scandal when he paid a hooker with a check and it bounced.

Yes. He also cohosted a show called Panorama for many years.

@Mariah Benetatos Maury Povich was the Ten O' Clock News sports anchor along with Jim "Karvo" Karvellas through all of the Pres. Nixon Admin. years. Povich I believe moved out to go to TV stations in both L.A. & Philadelphia before making his return to WTTG during the 1980s.

I love the 2000-2006 one.

+RoundenBrown Me too, it had a more suspenseful "grab on to your seat" opening. I noticed now that FOX 5 has become more of a chill station. It wasn't like it was back in the 90s or early 2000's.

WTTG Studios is located at 5151 Wisconsin Avenue Northwest, Washington, D.C.

Not anymore. Their studio is located at 7272 Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda, MD.

at 1:30 on the 1987 news open, you can see the DVE triggered wipe to live camera. Possibly the graphics system used at the time triggered the image on the black part of the wipe. This wasn't visible on SD TV of the time so they could get away with it.

That ended when he hosted a Currently Affairs which wzz supposed to be a Summer Replacement Tabolid show and it was a big hit and he never came back to DC

Yup. He was a serious journalist here in DC for years. He hosted Panorama. Then A Current Affair happened, which is kinda like Inside Edition. He is also the son of legendary journalist, Shirley Povich. Google it.

In the 1980s I was a desk assistant at this station. I am trying to find footage of my credits. Any ideas? Thank you.

Nope, this was pre Maury Show-Maury Povich, surprised he had that much hair!
