The more you get into them, you will understand why they are the most loved people on earth.

I am turning 60 in a few weeks and been an ARMY for about 4 years also. I was never into boy bands but have always loved music and dance of different genres. I have lived through times of many musical legends but no other artists have touched my heart like these young men. BTS are crazy talented, versatile, humble, funny, and hard working. They cover many genres and keep us surprised. I also love their good messages in their music, their storylines, connections to literature & art, and the mystery and Easter eggs they include in their works. BTS’s mission of healing through their music is so admirable. They touch hearts across the world and encourage fans to be better humans by the examples they set in giving and supporting others. Just be aware that there are many layers to this group, their fans, and the community. You can dive in or just dip a toe but be prepared to be surprised. People often incorrectly judge, or categorize what BTS are based on their background knowledge of boy bands. I have realized this is to be expected because without learning the layers and history of BTS, no one can possibly understand BTS & ARMY because no such situation has ever existed in history. The Cinderella story, the real trials these men have endured, the way the men have laid theirselves bare (good & bad) while daring to go against strong cultural norms to support their fans have all been a part of creating this connection others scarcely believe is real. There is a support and caring that flows to and from BTS, ARMY, and each other. Just know, this is a deep and unfamiliar rabbit hole in front of you. I don’t think I have ever heard someone be sorry they made that jump though. Best of luck, with your channel! 💜 U ARMY!

46 here and haven’t liked “boy bands” since New Edition and Troop. Because of my bias, I fought against listening to BTS until my niece wore me down. Best decision I’ve ever made-they are an authentic, humble group of artists who simply want to inspire and uplift their listeners. Their discography is massive, and I still haven’t heard all their songs after almost two years of falling down the rabbit hole. Their content-from rap mixtapes and numerous albums to music videos, live performances, and reality shows-is unlike anything I’ve seen before. I truly love this group and hope you enjoy more of their music and artistry. 🤗

OMG yes, they are serious about what they do. They are always working so hard, releasing new music multiple times a year, always practicing to improve their already amazing stage performances, using their popularity to spread positive message. As much as I would love for these guys to take it easy and enjoy aspects of their youth that the studio doesn't give them I am immensely proud of the choices they have made. These guys are never in the tabloids, they don't spend wild nights partying or post endless photos of their lavish lives. They are so humble and down to earth. They emphasize and acknowledge that it is hard work, dedication and the love for what they do and their fans that has gained the successes that they have.

Thanks for the reaction. But BTS is the furthest from being "no brainer" music producers. "Fake Love" is one in a series of songs that are a part of an ongoing overarching storyline. However even as a stand alone the lyrics have depth and are haunting. Actually the only fluff tracks from the group are the two in English intended for American audiences, "Dynamite" and "Butter".

No brainer! BTS have music videos of their songs which are so full of symbolism that people then need to find a video explaining the meanings behind every tiny shot.Or read the book it was based upon. Their work can be scarily introspective, the Map of the Soul albums based upon Jungian concepts. I'm slightly staggered tbh,to hear them being described as no brainers. There are three rappers and four vocalists. Still being stuck on the no brainer thing,I would like to mention that the group leader has an IQ of 148,and is a prolific writer of deep, poetic lyrics. Oh well.

These young men have worked hard for 10 years to get here, their back story is very interesting, they have worked tirelessly while going to school and University, leaving their families behind to live together in a one bedroom flat while they have trained. Their range of music is vast and they each have a unique vocal talent to add to the group, along with their excellent choreography. They range from 23 to 29, they are funny, down to earth and genuine, please don’t write them off as no brainers, or pretty boys, check them out further they deserve it, Spring day, Blood sweat and tears. Mic drop, Truth untold, Black swan are just a few in a wide range of excellent songs. I'm a 40 year old mom. I never really cared much for music before, I preferred talk shows on the radio. I just get bored to easily. But I adore BTS. Their songs are all so different I never get bored. There is a song for every mood. And their lyrics, their fictional stories, their references to art, psychology, mythology, literature, history, science, films, I mean, you could create a whole university course on the meaning in their lyrics. And since I'm reading the translations it's even more mind blowing in Korean with all the word plays. And then there's the cinematography of their music videos and their amazing dancing. And then there's still more, there's all their variety shows called BTS Run and their behind the scene movies and shows. They're so sweet and humble and down to earth absolutely hilarious. Whenever I'm feeling down, watching a BTS Run or In the Soop and I'll be cheered right up. You haven't seen comedy until you've seen BTS together. They're really a once in a lifetime group.

BTS music is very fun and harmless but what differentiate them from Backstreet Boys and most western boy bands is they have a serious artistic side to them that you will find they have levels of difficult dance choreographies in most of their songs that they perform depending on the songs concept.....and lyrics with substance that deals with depression, social injustice, politics, self love, etc., that goes beyond the puppy love songs you find in most western boy bands. Since 2020, they are the biggest musical act in the whole wide world from the far east of Asia to the far west end of Hawaii.

I recommend: Black Swan Save Me Truth Untold Your Eyes Tell Blood Sweat & Tears Blue & Grey And V from BTS solo work, Singularity, Stigma, Inner Child. Dimash arguably has the best voice in the world. I love him but I do acknowledge his wow is delivered mostly singing internationally established material. In a way, this mimics classical music which was part of the background he was raised in. BTS, on the other hand, is a rags to riches story of a small company in near bankruptcy assembling a collection of seven group members from varying backgrounds, joining together so all involved were writers and producers of absurd amounts of original material, and as a team rising above a hostile corporate culture which was bent on destroying them. Now they are the biggest act in the world, having toured globally and performing at sold out outdoor stadiums such as the Rose Bowl and Wembley prior to Covid. As both a Dear and an ARMY, I embrace both artists but simply do not view comparing apples to oranges a productive endeavor as each is uniquely special for very different reasons.

BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan which means Bulletproof boy scouts) is a group from South Korea with 7 members. - 4 vocalists, 3 rappers - their fans are called the A.R.M.Y. (adorable representative M.C. of youth) - they have so many different genres (pop, ballads, rap, hi-hop, R&B...) - they have songs called Dynamite and Butter which are their only full english songs but in every song there are always some phrases in english - they're writing their own lyrics (sometimes with help of people from their company) - in their songs they're talking about so many important topics! (self love, bullying, social economic injustices, hard work, following your dreams, female empowerment and so so so so much more) - turn on the captions when youre reacting to them - most of the songs which seem like they have lyrics about romantic relationship, they are actually about love within themselves or for their fans MEMBERS: (in Korea, last name comes first) Kim Namjoon Stage name: RM (stands for real me) -rapper, leader Kim Seokjin Stage name: Jin - vocalist, visual, oldest (28, in Korea 29) Min Yoongi Stage name: Suga Solo stage name: Agust D - rapper Jung Hoseok Stage name: J-hope - rapper, sub-vocalist, dancer Park Jimin Stage name: Jimin - vocalist, dancer Kim Taehyung Stage name: V (stands for victory) - dancer, vocalist, visual Joen Jungkook Stage name: Jungkook - sub-rapper, vocalist, dancer, youngest (23, in Korea 24) All of them are also producers, songwritters and composers but the rappers are the main ones. They all have solo songs, some of them have their own mixtapes and all of them are amazing dancers. Rappers can sing pretty well when they're not goofing around and the same goes for vocalist and rap. These boys may seem like they are really serious which is true when it comes to music but as people they are just such creckheads. Young men who love music and their fans. I have never seen someone who is that humble, down-to-earth and still the biggest artist in the world. BTS is WAY deeper and more talented than any other boy band or KPop group, you just have to have an open mind and dive deeper. They’re more on the level of MichaelJackson in terms of talent and performance. Fake Love” is in my top 5 from BTS. Beautiful poetic lyrics and amazing visuals. You mentioned Fake Love as a ‘no brainer’ song, so then I’m not sure if you were reading the lyrics because it’s pretty deep and emotional. I love how the song is not necessarily about another person and their fake love, but directed inward and basically telling the story that if you’re not true to yourself or love yourself first, then love of any kind or for anyone will always be ‘fake’ (notice they look in the mirror often). And because basically YOU are the person allowing another to have power over you, when in actuality what’s being done to you is actually not by another person but yourself because you lack self-love. It follows their “Love Yourself” album trilogy’s (3 albums, “Fake Love” is on the 2nd album when the idealized love falls apart and your faced to look inward and self-reflect and question your true self) theme of “Love Yourself” where in the last third album you realize you’re the one you should love and accept the most before you can truly love anyone else. BTS launched the Love Myself campaign with UNICEF to protect children against violence around the release of these albums where part of the proceeds of the 3 albums went to the cause and 100% of sales from their Love Myself merchandise went to the cause as well. Some of the visuals like the snickers bars, water, fire, flower are connected to BTS’ complex fictional storyline that runs through a few of their videos and hits on heavy topics such as mental health, abuse, addiction etc, so it will be confusing to newbies to BTS who haven’t gone down their storyline rabbit hole yet!

First advice: get rid of everything you know about typical ‘western’ boy bands. BTS is a totally different world. They’re very unique. They have different concept, different genre, different approach, different style. They’re super talented men with brains, hearts, and manners. Western music style have been so worldwide for so many years that they became very exclusive, thinking that other countries will always follow their concept. BTS has broken that mindset. BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan in Korean- Bulletproof boy scouts in english) is a 7 member (3 rappers and 4 vocalists) group from South Korea that started formation in 2010 and officially debuted in 2013. Their names are Jin age 28 vocalist, Suga/Agust D age 28 rapper, J-Hope age 27 rapper, RM age 26 rapper and group leader (and their only fluent english speaker), Jimin age 25 vocalist, V age 25 vocalist, and Jungkook age 23 vocalist. They are the biggest group in the world right now and they just surpassed Coldplay as the most streamed group on Spotify with over 17 billion streams. BTS is constantly breaking records and selling out stadiums all over the world. They have 2 fully english songs out of their over 200 song discography (Dynamite and Butter). They cover subjects such as mental health, self love, loss, societal expectations/injustices, economic inequalities, and so much more. They were nominated for their first grammy award this year and have won almost 400 awards. They have also had 4 number 1 songs in the US in less than a year and 5 number 1 albums in less than 3 years in the US. Don't feel bad about knowing about them because unfortunately the western media sucks at talking about them and their achievements. They are often not taken seriously because they are considered by most as just another "manufactured boy band", but in reality they are so much more. Their fandom is so diverse with people of all ages (the age demographic of BTS fans is pretty even until age 50, but plenty of fans are older than 50 too), nationalities, genders, and races. I was a huge fan of Backstreet Boys and NSYNC when I was a kid and I'm telling you BTS is on another level. They do it all genres hiphip, rnb, pop, edm, neo-soul, latin, and jazz.

So it really fine to someone new this genre speak out what they feel and think. Nobody start with full information and background. Hi..thank you for reacting to BTS. I am a 62 year old BTS fan from Canada and I couldn't be more impressed with these young men. They range in age from 23-29 now, but have been together for 10 years including their time as trainees. K-Pop groups are put together by agencies and train together for a couple of years before they even go public as a group. What separates BTS from most K-Pop artists is their involvement in their own music. They have always written and produced much of their own music. Although some of it might seem fluffy and light, they touch on a variety of very important issues...mental health, bullying, female empowerment, abuse etc. Their fandom (called ARMY) donates millions of dollars and hours a year to charities on their behalf (as do the members themselves). I have been to many concerts over the years...The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Prince, Elton John, Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen and so many others, but never has an artist touched me as BTS has. They have actually broken records of all the previously mentioned artists. They are beyond talented and I hope you will explore their music further. Blood, Sweat and Tears is a masterpiece as a music video. They cover most genres of music so there is something for everyone. Don't feel bad that you are just discovering them, they have only started becoming popular in the west in the last few years and haven't had much radio play because of the language barrier (although they have two recent songs all in English...Dynamite and Butter...both very Pop-ish). I hope you will learn to love them as I do. Thank you for reacting.

One thing I really like about Kpop is that they don't put music in a box. A song seems to take on a diff life and pass through diff genres. It can be a mix of R& B, hip hop, edm/house and then evolve into a ballad. It's refreshing because it's unpredictable. Unlike most kpop groups, BTS are true story tellers. There is actually a storyline that runs through several albums/music videos. Most of the 'special effects' in this video relate to the storyline. (Fire, Water, Candy, Phone, even the flower). Every thing in their videos is in there for a reason. It's not just for wows.

To be fair to other K-pop artists, it's important to know that most of them incorporate storylines. BigBang introduced an early version of a storyline with the release of 'Haru Haru' in 2008, and even weaved the narrative tale into G-Dragon solo works, like 'Only Look At Me Pt. 2". In 2012, EXO was the first to take the storyline concept to another level with one that runs through every single song they have released to date. VIXX didn't do a "story", but was exploring concepts across multiple albums starting in 2011. Both of these practices were picked up by pretty much everyone immediately after that. BTS has one of the very best storylines, there is no doubt. I'm really looking forward to the drama coming out that's based on it. One of the best writers in the business did the adaptation. But it's not the first, and it's not the only one.

EXO copied BigBang, who copied David Bowie and Ziggy Stardust, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, and countless other groups who have created fictional narratives. So the accusation is just silly.

Bts hides deep and poetic lyrics to a upbeat music. So if you only listen to the music and dont really focus on the lyrics, you might think that its fun and light. But looking into a mirror and not knowing who you are and realizing that you have done all to another person, you have changed yourself for him to love you so much that you dont even know who you are anymore, that is not fun or light stuff. And most music today also steers us towards not focusing to lyrics. Lyrical rap and Bts is mostly those that need lyrics dissecting these days and many just arent into that. And its ok, you can just listen to them and not care about the lyrics. Bts challenges people to interpret their lyrics and music videos. They DO have lighter songs, like the recent ones Dynamite and Butter. But they would not have an enormous following of people over 30s if they were only that. For singing, I suggest their song Your eyes tell and for lyrics, I suggest Blue and grey. I will put links below to live performances.

I think it might be easier for you to check the lyrics in advance from a internetpage called doolset bangtan. A good lyrics video channels are also af taehuyng or DIAL6137 in youtube. With those you can hear the song and see the lyrics at the same time, but not get confused my the music video. BTS has so many layers. The music, lyrics, the visuals of the sets, clothing, and choreography. Most definitely on can just sit back and enjoy the feel of their music. That was me in the beginning. I then started diving into their lyrics. They draw inspiration from a wide variety of sources (Hermann Hesse, Haruki Mirakami, Carl Jung, Gandhi, MLK). Their messages are timeless: love yourself, stand up for yourself and others, be authentic. Thank you for giving them a listen. If you do listen to more BTS, be sure to play the opening label. Thank you for this reaction and for giving BTS and their music an opportunity. I will tell you that while their music can be taken, as you said, as "no brainer" if you listen and leave your experience on the surface level. One of the things, however, that has made BTS a worldwide phenomenon is that their music has many layers. The men who are in the band have many talents (all are composers, producers, writers, and more) and they have been dedicated over the last 8+ years to the concept of being "real" in what they do and how they do it. If you choose to experience more of their music, which I encourage you to do, you may also want to learn more about them and the things they have been through as people and as a group. This will help you begin to understand their music on a different level and help you better understand the difference between them and others. Also, just so you know there is an extensive array of resources and an abundance of material available if you choose to explore them more and it can be overwhelming so please take your time and enjoy yourself. BTS loves to share their music and ARMY (BTS' group of supporters) loves to support them and those that want to explore, as well.

Thank you for the nice reaction. Kpop actually isn’t really a genre. One of the BTS members, Suga, explained it in this way, “I’m a little careful to talk about K-pop as a genre because I don’t want to be defining Kpop as a genre. I’m a little bit wary of that but I think rather than approach Kpop as a genre, a better approach would be ‘integrated content’. K-pop includes not just the music, but the clothes, the makeup, the choreography…all these elements I think sort of amalgamate together in a visual and auditory content package, that I think sets it apart from other music or maybe other genres so again, as I said, rather than approach K-pop as it’s own genre I think approaching it as this integration of different content would be better.” You will find a lot of different types of music in kpop, and with BTS alone, they cover a really wide range of genre with very meaningful lyrics. A bonus is they write and produce a lot of their songs also. Hope you will react to more!

Thanks for being open minded and giving them a chance. I like your comment that you should not always compare everything. I have to disagree with the nobrainer comment. This song is a deep one, if you dissect the lyrics. It is not just about a typical relationship. The song reflects the theme of their entire ‚Love Yourself’ series meaning that ‚any love wherein one does not love oneself is not real.‘ It shows the emptiness that comes to a person who has invested too much in a relationship, losing one's own identity and holding onto a toxic relationship. It is applicable to any kind of relationship, even that to oneself, and is open for interpretation. The music video can be seen as just visually pleasing, but there is a whole storyline running through many of their music videos, this one included. They make albums based on concepts for example their albums ‚Map of the soul 7’ and ‚Map of the soul: persona’ delve into Jungian concepts of the psyche, ego, Persona and collective unconscious. Another series of BTS’s albums, the ‚Love yourself’ series, is dedicated to the theme loving and excepting oneself. But of course I don‘t expect people who are new to BTS to see it instantly, so I want to inform you. BTS’s lyrics are deep and have many layers. When many people in the fandom say that BTS helped them to better themselves, love themselves, work harder or more passionate to achieve something in life or even saved their lives, they actually mean it. They are involved in writing and producing their own music. One of the main writers and rapper of the group RM has an IQ of 148 (genius level). BTS consists of 3 rappers and 4 vocalists. Their songs are very versatile. You can find any genre in their discography. They are not afraid to experiment and evolve over time. A new BTS song is always a surprise. I have come to learn that you never know what style, genre or concept BTS incorporates next in their songs and albums. Leaving a wise quote of one of the members Suga here: ‚You'll like BTS music if you listen without prejudice.‘

@@TheSpeakEasyLounge It‘s understandable and quite a few people struggle with reading the lyrics and watching the music video. The problem (and the good thing 😄) is that BTS puts quality into both. Every detail in their videos plays a huge role for their storyline, they barely use CGI as you can see in their behind the scenes about the music videos or the dancing is nice to watch. On top of that they have great and deep lyrics. I recommend to watch the video a second time and read the lyrics separately, if you don‘t mind to watch it again. Another information to put some stereotypes aside: Their fandom is so diverse. They have equally many fans in their 20s, 30s and 40s and even 50+ and it is not just hormonal screaming teengirls which is a known stereotype for boybands. I‘m in my 30s and have a fulltime job and can still appreciate their music and their other content. They all are very hardworking and inspiring people and very passionate about their craft and their fans. I‘m sure other ARMY (the name of BTS’s fandom) have already written a few paragraphs in the comments to explain more and to suggest other songs. ARMY is as passionate as BTS is 😉 Sorry for some mistakes, English is not my first language (to be precise my third 😄) Greets from Europe and have a nice day! Edit: If you are distracted by the video, you can also read the lyrics at the website doolsetbangtan. Just search for the song title and the website. In my opinion you find the most accurate translation at this website with some more information about some parts or quotes in the song.

Thank you for listening to BTS with an open mind. I hope you listen to more - if you do, it will become a journey. Hopefully you will discover that BTS is unlike any other band - and they are not representative of kpop (they arose from kpop but IMO, have transcended it), and although yes, they are all men (current ages, in western years - Koreans count age differently - the youngest is 23 and the oldest is 28), they are in no way a “boy band”. There are seven members, who were recruited by an entertainment agency from 2010 to 2012, and they debuted in the music scene in 2013 (the youngest was then 15 and the eldest was 20). This is a really long comment, I’m sorry... There is a rap line (three rappers) and a vocal line (four singers), and although they all dance really well, two are gifted dancers (Jimin and JHope) and Jungkook and Taehyung are excellent dancers and the four of them make up the official dance line. All seven have been involved in song writing and producing, but the three rappers are the main song writers and producers (stage names: RM, Suga, and JHope). They often produce albums that have a consistent concept, theme, or message. For example, their Love Yourself series. And the Love Myself Campaign. The Love Yourself series was three albums and a mv. The albums were Love Yourself: Her; Love Yourself: Tear; and Love Yourself: Answer. The first album is loosely about falling in love, the second about the breakdown of that love, and the third is about finding yourself and loving yourself first, before you can truly love someone else...They partnered with UNICEF back in 2017 and launched a campaign to help end violence against youth, called Love Myself. They gave a speech at the UN General Assembly in 2018. They pledged proceeds from concert tickets, album sales, and mercy sales towards this campaign, and raised over $1M in the first year. Their lyrics deal with real issues. They are brilliant lyricists. Poetic, actually. Many of them play instruments, some play them exceptionally well - I’m thinking of Suga, and Jin on piano here. The three rappers are world class. The four vocalists each have distinctive, and beautiful voices. Listen to The Truth Untold or House of Cards to hear their voices. And give Outro: Tear a listen for the rappers. The lyrics in all three are brilliant, but especially Tear. Altogether, they have recorded close to 300 songs, they have singles, EP’s, Albums, and solo work (mixtapes), plus work they have done with other artists (some from the West). I am posting this message because BTS has spent 8 years being ridiculed and put down by mainstream music - both in South Korea and the West (I don’t mean you are ridiculing them). They have worked incredibly hard, from a very young age, suffered hardship and pain, and kept on following their dreams. They have succeeded beyond their own dreams, yet they are as humble as they have always been. They donate their own money and time to charities they believe in. They have a very close relationship - all seven lived together in a tiny one bedroom apartment since their trainee days, and although they moved to bigger apartments over the years, they stayed in one home until recently - they have bought their own places now, but they still live together when they are recording and practicing, and they quarantined together too, as far as I know. They have loved and supported each other through the most difficult and stressful moments of their lives, and have done so for a decade - yet they are still so young. They are really good people, kind, compassionate, decent, sweet, funny - as fans, we get defensive and want to protect them because they started so young, and they have suffered a lot, and they love and appreciate us so much - there are thousands of hours of content available, BTS have streamed or vlogged their lives since before their debut, so there are countless hours of them chatting online with fans, them chatting to each other, they have done their own reality shows - Bon Voyage, where they travel (four seasons of eight episodes each), Run! BTS - a sort of game show/variety show (we are waiting for episode 143 right now), In the Soop (where they went on vacation together in Korea, to a lake house, in summer 2020), plus interviews, behind the scenes stuff, “making of...” videos, music videos, movies/documentaries etc. There is so much out there, and they talk to us directly so often, that we feel we know them - you cannot hide all of your true self over so many years - their music heals us and they, as men, inspire us to be better people. They say they get energy and healing from us too - it’s a symbiotic relationship, we enhance each other’s existence. I’m a registered nurse, in an African country, I’m not given to hysteria or being overly sentimental, I’m educated, logical, rational, I’m well into my 20’s - and when I say I love BTS, I mean I do actually love them - I am a member of their official fan club. I will always love and support them. I found them back in 2015 and they helped me through a very difficult and dark time in my life - they continue to inspire me to go to work everyday and try to make a difference. Are they pretty? Sure, but that’s not why I love them. Do they wear makeup, and sometimes, feminine clothing? Oh yes - but who cares? I don’t. I love them bare faced in shirts or track pants when they are goofing around, and I love them in suits and silk shirts on stage. Don’t hold their handsome faces or status as fashion icons against them - it doesn’t make them frivolous. The leader, RM, has an IQ of 148, and taught himself English by watching Friends (the sitcom). They are fluent in Japanese, and are becoming more fluent in English - they understand a lot, but sometimes are shy to speak it on TV in case they make mistakes. JK, the youngest is an incredible artist, athlete, film maker. Jimin is a formally trained dancer (he did contemporary dance at a performing arts high school, and was the top student). Both Suga and Rm were well known underground rappers on the Korean hip hop scene before becoming idols - Rm thought he might be a poet or writer when he was young. JHope was a well known dancer before joining the company, he had won competitions in his home town and nationally.Jin was at university to study acting when he was recruited. Jimin and Jungkook have black belts in Taekwondo, and Jimin did Hapkido and kendo for eight years. Taehyung is an incredible photographer and actor, and had been in a Korean drama series. They are all exceptional. All of them. Six of the seven have bachelor’s degrees and are currently studying for MBA’s, the youngest, JK is still busy with his bachelor’s - when they debuted two were still in high school, one was in middle school. They have graduated school and university while having a gruelling schedule of writing, practicing, and performing. Anyway, I’m sorry for such a long comment, and thank you again for giving it a try, and being respectful 🙏💜

@@rebeccacarmichael6745 yes!! I love your comment, sending hugs to my fellow army😊😊 thank you for agreeing with me (that is such a weird thing to say, but I mean, thank for loving BTS in such a warm way) We all have difficulties in life (and we all take the pain because we really have no choice, there are people who depend on us and we have to step up - something tells me you are a wonderful mum), and anything positive that can help us cope, and get through our struggles, deserves gratitude and praise - whether it’s our friends/family, or therapy, or books, or music. With BTS, for me, they are a combination of friends/family and music - they give me love, reassurance, and brilliant music 🤷‍♂️ It seems like they help you de-stress when life gets a bit too much, and if they ease your mind, even for an hour, it is enough - they would be so happy to know that. I try so hard not to be defensive when people don’t understand - I am fully aware that I will never meet them, I’m not swooning over them hoping one day...No 😂 Yes, they are beautiful, I am not pretending they aren’t, but a handsome face would never affect me the way these men do. I really love the lyrics of this song. picking a favorite song is so hard but I have been listening to "magic shop" a lot lately, a song written to the fans by the youngest member, Jungkook. Yes they are in their 20s, the oldest, Jin, will be 29 in December and the youngest, Jungkook, will be 24 in September. But they have been in the industy for 8 years now, and a lot of them have a musical/dance past prior to joining the band.

Hi there! I’m in my 60s, and my kind of music was rock (Pink Floyd, Meatloaf), and soft rock (Dire Straits, Fleetwood Mac, Sting), as well as your balladeers Joni Mitchell & Leonard Cohen. And of course, back in the days, the Beatles (Strawberry Fields for Ever! Elinor Rigby!). But I’m also from a classical background (Bach, Sibelius, Chopin, Rachmaninov…) So, when you thought FAKE LOVE was NO BRAINER music, I know you probably (1) didn’t pay attention to the lyrics, and (2) came to it with huge misconceptions, despite your open-mindedness. BTS as song writers is known for the authenticity and depth of their feelings and concepts. Their 2020 album Map of the Soul: 7, has 20 tracks that explore Jungian concepts of Persona, Shadow and Ego. These songs were analysed by psychoanalyst Murray Stein for their psychological integrity and insights. The 3 albums before that (LOVE YOURSELF) dealt with issues of mental health and self acceptance. Because of their dedication to their mission of making music for HEALING, they became UNICEF ambassadors to protect youth against violence. BTS has a huge discography of over 200 songs, which defies any attempt to pigeonhole them into genres. Maybe, you should check out a few more of their songs: - Black Swan (2020, MV, or Live from The Late Late Show with James Corden) - ON (kinetic manifesto, 2020) - NPR Tiny Desk Concert (3 songs back to back, with their live band) - Spring Day (2017) - Which tackled one of the most tragic incidents in South Korea. Let’s hear more from you as a musician…

Fake Love [meaning of lyrics]: "Fake Love" it speaks to all of us. When we are upset or sad we tend to put on a mask. Pretending everything is fine when it really isn't; but this is lying to ourselves and ultimately being "Fake". Hiding sadness or sorrow can be dangerous even if it is to make others worry less. Lack of communication can cause isolation and misunderstandings.

  • @QAmodb

    @QAmodb

    3 жыл бұрын

@@TheSpeakEasyLounge Ok, so I'll explain what the Snickers bar means because it has a much deeper meaning than what meets the eye. BTS has a fictional storyline that runs throughout there music videos, this storyline is called the Bangtan Universe [BU] and in the BU, Jin (the oldest member in BTS) plays the main character, who is a time traveler and he must travel back in time to save his friends from their destructive fates. However, everytime he tries to save his friends, he always fails due to the butterfly effect. I won't go into another further details about the BU, because I don't want to spoil it for you, but this is what overall what the storyline revolves around. Now, like I said, I won't go into too much detail but merely give you some context because like I said, the Snickers have a bigger meaning than what meets the eye. So basically another member, J-Hope (the one on the bed of Snickers), is the main connector with the bar as it connects to his past. He basically became an orphan as a child after he was taken to an amusement park with his mother, she handed J-Hope a snickers, told him to close his eyes and count to 10, he obeyed and once he finished, he opened his eyes, with his mother no longer in sight. She had abandoned him, leaving him only with a snickers bar to remember her by. Now, this is as far as I'll go, but I hope that gives you a little bit of context, as I don't want to spoil any further. Also, I would recommend if you are curious about the storyline, to wait a while until you have gotten deeper into learning about the members and knowing their names, listened to a handful of songs, watching different variety shows they have done, ect. At least getting a foothold into the fandom [Army]. I would recommend watching *An Introduction to the 7 members of BTS (2021 update)* by Ida S and *BTS From Nobodies To Legends* by XCeleste in order to get to know who the members are. P.s sorry for the paragraph 😅🙏

First of all, thank you so much for reacting to BTS! I really enjoyed your reaction. :) I get why you'd make the connection to groups like the backstreet boys but BTS' music usually is far from mindless love songs like a lot of those old school boygroups' songs were. BTS' songs talk about stuff like relevant social and economic topics, mental health, women empowerment, cyber bullying, and they even take risks with their career by making songs that openly criticise the Korean government. They are very involved in their music, from the lyric writing to the production to directing the MVs or choreographies. I'd love to see you react to more from them like 'Magic Shop', 'Not today', 'Black Swan' and 'On'. These songs have great meaning and should also give you a glimpse into their vast discography that covers a lot of different genres and styles because they're constantly experimenting with their sound and just make music they like themselves. Have a nice day, and as ARMY says: "You nice, keep going!" ☺️✨💜

'Not today' is more of an hip-hop/EDM song responding to their haters. 'Black Swan' has very classical influences and talks about the fear of loosing your passion. 'On' is a very epic song with marching band influences that talks about never giving up, going forward and the MV especially makes a ton of references, a lot of them biblical.

38 year old ARMY here! Appreciate that you reacted to our boys! BTS's discography is very huge and dynamic with so many different genres that can fit whatever mood you are into, just like other commenters have written. RM, Suga, & J-Hope are full members of The Korean Music Copyright Association with hundreds of songs credited to them. BTS has a "Love Myself" campaign in partnership with Unicef aimed at ending violence against youth around the globe. Their birthdates range from '92 to '97 (I say the DOB b/c the ages in Korean are different than international) and there are 3 rappers RM (Kim Namjoon), Suga (Min Yoongi/Agust D), & J-Hope (Jung Hoseok) and 4 vocalists Jin (Kim Seokjin), Jimin (Park Ji-min), V (Kim Taehyung) &, Jungkook (Jeon Jung-kook). In Korea, you are a year old at birth. Then on Lunar New Year, you add another year to your age. So for example, Jin, the oldest in the group, was born December 4th 1992. His International age is 28 (He will be 29 in December). His Korean age is 30 as of right now (and will be 31 on his birthday). There are so many songs to see it is hard to recommend some, lol! There are so many I love that don't have videos also, like Stigma, Epiphany, Magic Shop, Dimple, and Pied Piper to name just a few. But the m/v's for Blood, Sweat, and Tears, DNA, Idol, Boy In Luv, Boy With Love, Just One Day, Interlude: Shadow, Black Swan, We Are Bulletproof: The Eternal, ect... are amazing as well.

Their have been a few instances when a member has played an instrument on stage, yes. Some of them are taking steps to seriously learn to play instruments and that is definitely worth applauding. BTS members take part in writing, composing and producing their music, especially so when they do their own solo work. But also full disclosure, there is a team of people they work with at their company and collaborators from around the world that have a hand in their music as well. One thing I'm always impressed by is how they always seem to find the best people to work with.

They are between 23-28 South Korean humble men. They debuted in 2013 They only have two all English songs. Dynamite and Butter. You should check out more of they're music. They are in a genre of their own.

BTS started out as KPop but has leapt to another level. They wrote Fake Love because they were touring a lot, was super busy & found they were tired of trying to be perfect for army ( their fans). This video also ties into the BU (Bangtan Universe) which I found refreshing from regular pop music. The BU is a fictional story line the guys portray( the reason for the candy bars etc). The oldest is about to turn 30. The youngest will be 25. They are heavily involved in writing, producing & overall output which is unique for Kpop. Black Swan, Blood Sweat & Tears, & Outro: Tear show their various sides. Spring Day was in response to the Sewol Ferry tragedy that took 300 students lives. I’m 61 & they bring joy & music & inspiration. I’ve been army since 2018. I also like the Foo Fighters, Mercy Me & Pavarotti…..🤷🏼‍♀️

My daughter introduced me to BTS a few years ago, I'm 53, and ❤️ their Love Yourself, search for self and stand up to the oppressive elite culture. Keep listening to more of their stuff... Dynamite & Butter are some new songs that are absolutely joyful.

BTS is the number one group in the world for a reason! You missed a lot if you didnt look at the lyrics or the visuals. BTS is on another level with their artistic ability. Surely you've heard of them before now.

Please do more reaction to BTS, especially "Blue & Gray", "Your Eyes Tell" and "fix You" (Coldplay's song cover by BTS), you can hear their real beautiful voice clearly (without any effect, filter, layer, or autotune, etc). BTS has 7 members, 4 vocalists and 3 rappers. Each member has their own solo songs. If you want to know their real voice color or characteristic, especially for the vocalists, you can react to : - 0 o'clock (vocalist only) - house of cards (vocalist only) - the truth untold (vocalist only) Here are some solo songs from each vocalist : *Jungkook* -Euphoria -My time (Jungkook also has so many cover songs) *Jimin* -Lie -Serendipity -Filter *Jin* -Tonight -Moon -Epiphany -Awake, etc *Taehyung aka V* -Sweet Night (#1 on iTunes in 119 countries) -Snow Flower -Singularity -Inner Child -Someone Like You (cover Adele's song) -Hug Me (cover song) -Stigma -Scenery, etc

I like your reactions. I have been addicted to Dimash for a year now, and enjoy your reactions to his performances. I'm finally able to break away long enough to watch my other favortites. I like BTS fine. They are a great group, and very talented. My favorite kpop groups are MonstaX and Super Jr. I loved them way before I heard of BTS. They are all great people. All with their special personalities, and personal struggles. They have their fun songs, and their serious songs. They work for many years to get this good. SUCH GREAT DANCING. Maybe you could react to MonstaX, Alligator. 40M views. It is my fav for the dancing. Super Jr. Burn the Floor. Beautiful.

I’m 60 yr old grandma and have found and loved bts since 2019. They have long surpassed kpop as a genre. They are their own genre ! Their music from 2013 til now has the widest range of music! They wouldn’t really be a boy band - they are true artists! Very talented group of 7 sing, rap and dance !!!

I am late but wanted to watch because I saw a face closer to the largest target BTS audience! Fake Love is gorgeous song. The MV is heavily threaded with parts of their inner cinematic universe which has its own separate aspect to BTS. They have many layers. They have 100s of songs which they have writing and producing credits on which span literally every genre from EDM, trap, hip hop, bubble pop, ballad, etc etc etc. Please give them a deeper chance. Their music can either be no brainer or you can delve into their entire series on Jung Psychology which has its own book written by the original author of Map of the Soul.
