Not sure if you are using an Ipa mix for the tack solution but I've found normal plain water works better and doesn't leave odd marks if you subsequently need to lift or re adjust. It doesn't work with all films though, just seems that the SunTek glue accepts it. Some other films really need that IPA for the tack. Ppf is always a learning experience but you soon mistakes / rips etc will be a thing of the past. As always enjoyed the video 👍🏼

Excellent work as always. I would love to have PPF knowledge so I could go after that market locally but I'm having difficultly getting ceramic coating customers currently.; Love your attention to details and the above expectations work.

I was told by someone who runs an crash repair company. They deal with the higher end cars to avoid Matte paint. This was a few years ago, however with any PPF I would still avoid. It is worse than silver to colour match and may involve several panels to match the damaged area.

Another immaculate install. But can’t help wondering if those intricate pieces on the front bumper that lie flush (no wrap over) will ‘lift’ over time.

the black parts on the car are not polished at all before the foiling?

You craft and care is matched only by your class. A “premium” shop in my state def didn’t use the same discretion on my 911. Several issues on the PPF on the front bumper that I didn’t catch until months later. But they knew…

Jim, in a previous life, I tinted windows. Plotters came around in that industry and ruined film became much more commonplace due to incomplete cuts, sharp angles, and dull cutters. I feel your pain

Jim, Awesome as always. I was on the suntan website for USA and matte is 5 year warranty. 10 years for Ultra Matte. Which matte did you use?

I think the matte finish is a great look for some colors. I was very tempted to have matte ppf installed on my newly delivered Arctic Race Blue BMW. I had asked the installer to show me a sample on the car, but, unfortunately, they went full speed ahead with the clear ppf, so I never had a chance to see what it would look like. Bummer for me!

What was the process like of stepping into the almost unknown, new terrority of PFF? Especially after many years mastering your craft of machine polishing and going to the point of as close to perfection as humanly possible with a machine, it must have been a bit of a step into the distance

No-one knows how much of a difference you have made to this car, Jim Only the gloss will tell...... Completely different approach to paint protection. A new learning curve, to be sure, still looks good though

I agree with James. I'll opt out of watching Jim's PPF videos.

It’s not called moonscape pal ( not being a nob ) just saying. It’s called steel matte grey. And we don’t don’t do it anymore. It’s just a nightmare for numb skull customers to look after. Unless they get it ppf,d but they don’t and then blame us. Love your work ❤

I wouldn’t spend the $ on a gas station car wash for a Kia.

Ppf very complex mentality tired,kick ur head better take break..went you due perfection on ppf can consume alot material..
