    Imagine knowing your brother is a rising star and putting more effort into him than you do yourself. Luke is an admiration in my eyes and the stoltmans and Eddie Hall gave me the motivation to lose 4 st and get fit again.

    Tom admitted just after the event, he didn't get the right hold, yet still won no problem, I don't think he's at his peak yet, can you imagine when he is? What a machine!

    It took Thor 8 attempts until he won WSM and Tom 4 attempts. He's going to be an absolute machine when he hits his peak. I think he's going to show us what Thor could've achieved had he continued. It will be interesting to see how much he can recover for next weekend. I can't personally see him win when other guys will be completely fresh.

    @@MsStevo2000 I hope I’m wrong but I can’t see him doing great at the Arnold’s ….maybe third he’s an incredible strongman and moving with weight possibly the best ever but he does lack the absolute static strength of people like Big z or Thor at his peak

    What a performance by Tom. Bsm in the bag and onto the next one. So sad to luke pull out of bsm but seemed to be okay for the giant's so hope all is good with him. Love the stoltmans and their support for each other. Keep it spicy lads. Lol

    i feel like the power belly is helpful in a lot of events in strongman but in the shield carry that belly pushes it farther away from the chest making it harder to carry and get a grip on it. awesome effort by all though!

    Why ain’t this shown on our tv, we have lots of sport channels or even channel 5… how come something like darts can be shown live and this can’t. And this is far more entertaining than bloody darts.

    @@EVO6- I've never read such drivel. No disrespect to Mark or Odd but they have never been on Brian's level at all. Brian's last big event was not the Rouge Invitational, he didn't even compete in that. His last big comps were WSM 2021/Shaw Classic where he finished 2nd.

    Tom is only 27. He has put it all together. If he stays healthy and hungry, he could be The Man for the next ten years. I think he wins six WSM titles...

    I wouldn't disregard his best competitors as much as you do. Tom did win last WSM fair and square, but also WSM 2019 Licis , and #2 in both 2018 and 2019 Kieliszkowski - were not competing. Time will tell. For sure if he is healthy he has a chance to win with anyone. But there are a few other freaks about whom the same can be said.

    @@maciejguzek3442 Licis and Mateusz have suffered serious injuries--Licis very recently hurt his back. Already the signs are there of their bodies breaking down. Tom is bigger and better than those guys and is completely healthy...

    @@cantilever If you think about it from another angle, this is a sport where injuries are quite common among the elite. Tom won because he is a great elite strongman AND because he was healthy, while some other top guys were injured. Whether this state of things remains the same over the next years - I doubt it very much, but of course it is your right to assume it will, if that's your opinion. Time will tell. We can come back to this comment in only a week from now, because 4-5th March is ASC which is 2nd major tournament in strongman, with many people saying it is actually 1st (more prestigious than WSM).

    The technique that Luke and Tom are using is just using their forearms to carry a fuckin' 200KG weight... their bone density must be absolutely insane for their arms to not snap lol

    Awesome performance by Tom but I don't understand how 6'2" Pa O'Dwyer managed that lock grip and 6'8" Tom didn't...? If Tom had locked his hands he could have walked that shield into the next county :-)

    Also grabbing the shield while locking your hands may be ideal, but if you haven't gotten any training in with the hold, the amount of weight in those 2 spots on your forearms because of the locked hands would be immense and extremely painful. I'm pretty sure TOM could hold it like a baby if he wanted to with his stature.

    @@kingofhisworld1 Yeah he has a netural hand positions as he's carrying the weight but if he locked hands, one of his hand would have to supinate and I assume it places a lot more stress on that short head of the bicep

    @@J.c410 hitting that peak strength takes a lot out of them, mainly chasing those deadlift records. I think the stoltmans are more focused on consistent titles and being well rounded.

    I mean... He placed 2nd behind Martins in the Rogue Strongman Invitational and that's the first time Martins has competed since Tom has been a podium caliber guy. We will find out this weekend if Tom can beat Martins.
