The way he explained how he doesn't remember how it feels to live his life without feeling social anxiety and how his life directly depends on how anxious he is feeling that day really got me thinking that i wish people that don't suffer from anxiety could understand how lucky they are. Again, what an amazing video and what a simple and lovely way of making us feel more and more empathic, the world really needs more empathy.

my autism makes me incapable of social anxiety. I can't believe some people think this "condition" is a curse. There are some days where I hate that my differences make it hard to communicate but I would never wish to be "normal." It sounds like it sucks.

Yeah, Its hard. Many people have it a lot worse than I do, but having to fight my instincts just to seem like im normal and conform to society is a constant struggle I dont wish on anyone.

@@reidleblanc3140 we are all beautiful in our own way. That being said, autistic people are some of the most warm and welcoming people ive ever met. You just have to take note of their boundaries and then theyre sweeter than most.

If there wasn’t KZread, Thoraya most likely would’ve been a psychologist , social worker or counsellor.

I have severe social anxiety, haven't really left the house other than food shopping in years. I've watched numerous different self help videos, therapy videos etc, but I have to admit, I think it's this channel that makes me most want to get back out there amongst people. It's this channel that reminds me that, everyone is a little weird, everyone is interesting, everyone is beautiful, and I want to meet some of those people and share in those experiences. So thank you for making these videos. I think it's time for me to get back out there and see the world again. Edit: I actually wrote this before he admitted his own social anxiety! Makes me feel doubly certain of what I said :)

I’ve been waking up really sad because I moved to a new place, my money is solid, personally things are looking up for me - but I have no one to share it with, sometimes I go out and I just feel like an open raw wound in this world. I get scared to exist in it. I am right there with you & I just want to say I hope you find a way to get out there and I hope that I do too. I have turned to alcohol in social settings to open up which I know I have to stop. So the next time I go out, I’m just gonna try to be open and feel it. Sometimes I cry after I try going out and talking to people. But I swear it’s the trying that counts, it’s the attempt that tells the world that you’re trying to open your heart and yourself - and maybe good can come from that. Aloha

Let me help you brotha. Go to some boxing gym and start boxing for fun and ask someone to sparr with you. Even tho you prolly have no idea what to do getting punched in a face will change you. Cuz you will feel alive and see that being in a ring and getting punch is scary not something that your mind invented like social anxiety.

I understand completely. I’ve dealt with social anxiety for most of my life and recently I’ve been working really hard on it and have been feeling that same want to get out there and connect with people. It’s very hard but I know it’s possible and I’ll get there and I know you can too❤️

You can do it. ❤️ I also have severe social anxiety, and even at 32, I have a really difficult time going out around people. I don't want my kids to be socially anxious, so I do try to push myself out more. It's so hard, though. Please just know you aren't alone!

It's interesting to hear about other people's perspectives in this channel. The amount of generosity and kindness and the spread of love that was shown in this is considerably immeasurable.

This brother has a lot of skill and talent and I like that he Is willing to be vulnerable and put himself out there. I like these tea conversations because it seems so much more personal when you sit down with someone and really have a whole hearted conversation with them. I would love to meet Thoraya one day and talk about so many things.

As soon as I heard his music in the beginning of your video, I felt such a deep connection. Instantly I felt how genuine he was and how I related in so many ways with the lyrics. I think because when it comes to his lyrics they are straight from his heart and there is complete truth in all of it. Thoraya you helped him and Gael you inspired her but you both definitely helped out a 17 yr old not feel alone trying to navigate the real world.

He radiates so much optimism and good heartedness. Wish him the best in all he does!

I can relate to him about social anxiety. I’m still extremely shy. Folks would’ve never believed it because I retired from corporate America where most of my career was spent meeting face to face with customers. My mom couldn’t believe my career involved dealing with people 😂

I relate to having social anxiety. I became aware of it after realizing I was at an adult age and I still cried whenever I had to talk to my professors, bosses, people in groups. I can not hang out with more than 1 person. A group of 3 people including me in it makes me incredibly anxious. It’s unfortunate really. Some days are more difficult than others. The people that do not know me well are surprised when I tell them how difficult the social anxiety is for me because I am one of those people that has a huge smile and looks at the bright side, always making jokes. It is really tiring sometimes but honestly I am in a better place in my life where I can work through these things.

If you take the time to be compassionate, give love without necessarily expecting something in return, you will see how much people are nice. But be careful not to get too close and waste time for people not good for you.

This is a place where we can see the most raw version of humans. And I love that. I am tired of carrying layers of the world that are brought upon us.

Watching these videos make me feel so human, you have no idea. I hope you know how much these moments you decide to spend with these people mean so, so much to them. And to us, the viewers, this is such a wonderful thing for us to experience through the screen. It makes us feel like we are there with you, and with these people. Love these interviews. Getting deep with a stranger can be therapeutic because opening up about certain things to family and close friends is terrifying out of fear of being a burden. So telling a stranger certain things is easier and then you hear them tell you they have similar thoughts and it’s a bond. I hardly ever comment on videos, but this conversation and this channel are absolutely beautiful. I have been putting therapy on hold for a very long time, but the sheer relief I get from watching these videos is enough for me to finally commit. Thank you Thoraya for everything you do, and as you said in this video, I don't think you'll ever truly know how much you've done for me.

Often we can get caught up in trying to live up to other’s expectations of us or struggling for perfection when no such thing exists. This can make us feel “less than” , like a failure or burden us with immense guilt. This prevents us from moving forward in a positive healthy way. Set your own goals, accept you’ll make mistakes along the way, learn, make amends and most of all learn to forgive yourself. It isn’t always easy. Life is hard and can deliver some hard blows. But when you least expect it, life can be amazing. Live for the amazing. Thank you Thoraya and Gael for sharing your amazing and giving hope.

Everyone you meet Thoraya just seem like fate. These videos honestly makes me believe in magic. I wish these videos were an hour, don't cut out anything! I have social anxiety too so I can relate to Gael a lot, I can't remember what it was like to not have it either. Feels good to hear I'm not alone.
