20:22 huge difference between teaching a kid confidence and teaching him arrogance. Take a look at the very best player Michael Jordan, did you ever see him tap his head when he dunked on someone or pointed on his arm after making a three or making any type of arrogant hand gestures? Last weekend's March Madness playoff game between Illinois and UConn was a monstrous blow-out as UConn pulled away from the pitiably outclassed Illinois team. As the going got tougher the UConn team members began joking and laughing and pointing the single finger "We'er #1" all the way down the court. At that time the Huskies wasn't allowing a single basket after scoring 40 unanswered points and was coasting and happily bellowing. I've watched sports contests nearly all my 87 years - from High School to Professional - but, thankfully, never had to witness the flagrant, derisive enjoyment that was on display March 31st until UCONN and Illinois finally put their bench teams on the floor, (Only then the Illini were able to put a few points on the board!) Talk about rubbing it in! It was disgusting! Appalled Old Maid from New Mexico

When I was in junior high I got so mad in a baseball game I took off my jersey and stomped on it and spit on it. My dad caught me coming out of the dugout and made me put it back on spit and all and apologize for my behavior. God I miss him so much. I just hope I am making him proud by being a good dad to my own kids and being successful enough to spoil them a little like we used to be. These young men in this video as sad as it is our statistically speaking for the young black kids unlikely to have a father around. This is a huge problem in their culture but rather then fix that they blame white people for everything. I said what I said.

as basketball referee for many years, I did not for one moment did allow these pride filled moments for one second as I teed them up. If I got any slack from the player, players, or coach I threw them all out of the game. I was the only one laughing after that!

20:22 huge difference between teaching a kid confidence and teaching him arrogance. Take a look at the very best player Michael Jordan, did you ever see him tap his head when he dunked on someone or pointed on his arm after making a three or making any type of arrogant hand gestures? Nah he just played. Now I see why kids be getting so damn arrogant after making one measly play, as if they done score the game winner or something.

The 40+ basketball beef was at my local gym lmao ☠️
Basketball is now about making your opponent look bad smh
This is why Europeans are gradually going to take over the NBA.
some of these little kids are crazy. both the parents and coaches gotta be ashamed, no sportsmanship and talking like that all game gets you nowhere. they’re definitely not gonna be working hard when they grow up.
Coached AAU for a few years after I played, by far the funniest interactions I've had are with the crazy parents. Loved just laughing at the ones who live vicariously through their kids

If it’s not college level, I think they should always give technical fouls in basketball or any sport for in-game celebrations just to help teach young kids to have discipline and respect and also have their coaches accountable for their players’ actions.

Sports are not sports without sportsmanship, without it, it's just a competition.
