Those pedestrian impact tests on the Mustang are the only safety tests that are needed for that car

Maybe the telemetry & crash dummies would tell a different story, but as a layman, I can't understand how the 1st car could get zero stars. I thought it did pretty well. A-pillar looked like it didn't bend at all, even the windshield was in tact!

The passive safety of the Punto isn't that horrible, it's just lacking a lot of active safety features that move it from a 2-3 star car to a 0 star one

It actually did decently compared to other muscle cars in AMERICA though, I saw a Dodge Challenger that ripped the leg of the driver from the dashboard

The fact that these European cars actually still resemble cars after they are crashed is a huge testament to engineering over the last couple of decades. Glad to see you guys getting safer cars over there finally.

Funny how the Punto chassis is perfectly safe in every crash but gets 0/5 because it cannot avoid a crash itself. They should at least split the result between "active" and "passive". Stating a car is "unsafe" is very different from saying that is "safe in a crash, unable in assisting the driver avoiding it"

The most shocking thing I got from this was that in 2016 Fiat were still making the punto

Most of these cars are shaped like a dinner role.

They should design air bag that come out of the backs of the front seats to help the passenger's in the back.

Well, I could think of a great way to do that, and an on off switch for kids in the back, considering airbags aren't safe for children, but a switch can be placed to turn them off. Question is, will they actually turn them off?

Why should this crashes be the worst? You just called this video "worst crashes" for clicks. The fiat and the lancia aren't bad (except the neck injuries of the kids in the back) and the passenger cell stays intact.

I don't get it, some of them do quite well, the cabin structure did not collapse or the doors did not open, I've seen some 4-5 star cars perform pretty similar Maybe the side pole and side impact makes it unsafe, but the frontal was pretty good

Not in Europe. 1 star less for lack of pedestrian protection and 1 star less because safety software is not installed in EU models (like land departure and dead angle warning).

Yeah it is weird cause the stang does have a 5 star rating for everything except the rear side impact but that was a four star.

With the amount of crash tests there are I would think less people would be getting into accidents but no the open road has turned into a crash test facility 😂

2019 Ford Police Interceptor Utility and 2015 Interceptor Sedan. Not sure on the safety ratings of those but they sure tend to make people around me not speed, so I guess that’s a safety factor.

I don't see anything "Worst" esprcially in the FIAT Punto and the LANCIA Ypsilon Actually the both did very very well. Don't understand why they are in this Video or if the Title is just to attract viewers for no reasons

Not really. What they are doing is basically forcing car companies to include the software for it to get good ratings. - Which is fantastic, since it means all cars will keep evolving safetiwise. You can't give a car a free pass just because it's old.

If these are the worst performers during this time period, we should all be practically invisible behind the wheel. All pretty solid tests.

I feel stupid for finding these hard to watch. I try to drive safely and believe I’m certainly above average as a driver (20+ years with no accidents or contact with anything - even during track days) but man, once you have your own happy little toddler smiling at you from the back of your car on a regular basis, you stop seeing those rear-seat crash dummies as lumps of plastic and metal. Like I said - a little odd I know...

The mustang did really well on the crashes. It was the pole and pedestrian impacts that ruined it. Don't go near a mustang if you're walking.
