    One thing that never gets mentioned at least for me is i get 4% at Walmart no matter what i buy because it always codes as grocery. Better than the walmart card. One example is i bought a computer and still got 4% back.

    I used to pay my verizon bill with my cash+ before the autopay debit would hit and all was good. About 2 months ago that ended and i would get a notice that if i paid my bill it would remove the 10 dollar autopay discount. Ended up getting the verizon card for 2% but now its knocked to 1%. Super annoying

    I use the card exclusively for my Verizon bill on autopay and nothing else. I assume a lot of others do the same. It’s probably why changes like this are being made.

    surprising. they probably assume people that get that card will never switch. i had one returned payment with the money in the bank but it still counted as returned and they charged me a fee and closed my card so i switch to tmobile too because verizon is not a good value anymore and doesn’t give free/cheap phone upgrades anymore.

    Last time I checked, Verizon plan prices were absurd, so I'd rather use a cheaper carrier and get 3x and then use phone purchases to either take a big chunk out of min spend or get at least 2x, and buy through a shopping portal for extra rewards.

    What other no annual fee card has 4% on grocery/gas/restaurants? And still getting 1% while receiving the $10/line/mo autopay discount is better than 0% when using a bank account or debit. Also more secure than giving a company with a questionable security history your bank details. IF you already have VZW this card is a no-brainer.

    For what it’s worth, The bank Verizon uses is an online bank. Also you get the $10 per line discount using any bank/credit union debit card if you have autopay/paperless billing. I know, I have 7 lines and have used credit union debit card since the $10 per line discount started. However Verizon’s Visa card is only credit card that qualifies you for the $10 per line discounts. I’m researching their card now. It seems the 4% groceries and gas rewards had stayed the same since 2020 when their card came out. I just don’t want to apply for the card and 3 months later the 4% changes to 1 or 2%. Those two categories are the most important ones to me. I don’t use any card at restaurants. Especially Mexican. Seems like that’s the common denominator when cards incur fraudulent use.

  • @seanfromme9865

    @seanfromme9865

    @@jrandall5736 Unless your debit card also pays you 1% on purchases then the credit card wins. Also, while there's no guarantee, it seems unlikely they would reduce (or increase) the earnings for other categories within just a few months after these changes. And if it does, the card goes in a drawer and is only used for the VZW bill. No big deal.

    I like your videos but I disagree with you. I just made a video talking about this. With me only using it for my bill yes its a bit of a downgrade but for other that this is there main card or only card they are more likely to get more money now. Most people’s Bill is probably $150 ish but they probably spend more then that on dining most months and will make it back and put more in there pocket. I know most people have 3-4 cards not 40+ like me so I think it’s an upgrade for most people. The best single card for cash back “Verizon credits”. Anyways enjoyed the video as always! Keep it up!

    This is what I found on Google when I searched what you and I were both wondering: Yes, buying a Verizon gift card is considered a Verizon purchase. Verizon gift cards are payment cards that can be used to buy Verizon products and services, including: Mobile or home devices and accessories, Prepaid mobile plans, Verizon mobile or Fios bills, Merchandise and services at Verizon stores or kiosks, and Shop Verizon online. Verizon gift cards can be purchased online at the Verizon mobile website or at any Verizon store. Gift cards are available in denominations of $25, $50, $75, or $100 and typically ship within 2-5 days. Another search stated that the new rewards deal won't start until August, September, or October 2024.

    Every time you talk about this Verizon credit card it feels like you aren't cognizant of how much excess money it costs to be on Verizon Postpaid compared to alternatives. It's not the 2000s anymore where postpaid is the only option. Since your channel is called Proud "Money", seems odd that you're just content with paying a high telecom bill every month. Would be good to at least mention to your viewers the possibility of Prepaid or MVNOs, which keep things much cheaper and simpler for consumers. And avoids many 2000s era predatory business practices that are still in practice.
