One thing many people miss about this movie is that Israel was actually letting Palestinians into Jerusalem because “every person we save is one less zombie we have to fight.” I just loved that sight of Israelis and Palestinians working together to survive. World War Z's opening was absolutely brilliant for a zombie apocalypse movie. The fact that people are running left and right to survive while some of them get beaten by a zombie, you see a shot from above where the entire city is panicking is absolutely brilliant sequence for a zombie apocalypse

@@user-ji9ws7yx7dI was on the set before filming started. It was weird to see Glasow looking so different. All street signs were replaced, all traffic lights changed and all the hydrants and trash cans around was surreal. The main part was George Square and the streets around it. That actual bit of the square and that corner was also in Hobbs and Shaw, and a Fast and Furious movie, as well as Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.

@@SteveODonnell To walk into that after the folks have made the required changes without seeing the transformation must be a bit bizarre. I looked into a little bit and saw they changed the street name signs for American style and the things you've already mentioned such as stop lights and bins but I have to say it didn't take much to transform old Glasgow. Something for the City to think about.
For a movie that not only had a troubled production and is based off a book and has absolutely nothing to do with said book, I still really enjoy this movie. I love it lol! It really is amazing how a movie that had SO MANY behind the scenes problems turned out to be such a banger of a zombie movie, especially since it has almost nothing in common with the original source material written by Max Brooks.
Okay.... hear me out, lol. For those who don't know, the book is actually set after the war and told through the accounts of several survivors. Pitt's character, the events shown in the film, and even the type of zombies depicted were all created for the film. On top of that, the films production was incredibly problematic. Nobody seemed to know what direction to take the film in. By the time they started filming, the plot was being rewritten daily. Apparently, the script was such a mess that Pitt himself had to step in and help with rewrites as they were filming. All that being said, its kinda crazy just how entertaining this film is. I love how most of the movie focuses on these massive set pieces, but it caps off with a long, tense, quiet sequence that just keeps you squirming until the very end. And overall, the film has a really interesting story (taking a more scientific approach to combat the zombies), and the soundtrack, visual effects, and direction throughout are unironically excellent. It's not WWZ, but it's still a damn good movie.
Max Brooks himself has even said that even though this movie is very very loosely based on his book, it’s still a pretty good movie.
I remember watching this movie in theaters with my family, we saw it in a mexican theater. When they said "Mexico city has been declared a total loss" the whole theater burst in laughter lol we all loved that line 😂

Brad Pitt's character had been a former United Nations investigator, so making observations based on what the doctor had said makes sense. His job meant that Karen would be used to being a single parent for months at a time.
13:50 You're right, there is a really nice display of family strength here. The mom and dad make a great power duo and are fully capable of protecting their family when they work together and utilize each other's strengths. I never really noticed it before, but I like that.

I saw this movie in the theatres and I loved it 15 mins into it. While re-watching the movie i realised that at the climax when Brad pitt's character is stuck in the vault, with the zombie outside, not knowing which vaccine/disease to take, he could have told the camera through the notepad that he'll show the disease bottle on camera and if it's the right one, they should call on the same landline outside! He could have confirmed which one to take and which not to take. When watching the first time there's so much tension that we don't think about it. Beautiful film.

Good action/zombie movie; Bad book adaptation. The movie depicts the beginning of the war. In the book, The War (That took decades to fight) has been over for 10 years, and a guy from the UN goes around the world, collecting testimonies of people who lived through the war (Civilians, Military Personnel, Governement Officials, Medical Experts, ect...). Some are horrifing, some are down-right just sad. Great read. Highly recommend.

I like this video before even watching because I love this duo and “World War Z” Cmonnnnn PERFECT! But one question, what was that clip with Tom Hanks haha! The best!
I hate zombie movies but this is the only exception for that category. Love this film, the acting, story, all of it! The end is soooo satisfying! Great reaction guys! Thank you.
woohoo! one of my favorite zombie movies ever! I just love the depiction of them, and the massive threat they pose at every second of the film. I'm surprised Andrew got through this, considering the jumpscares hahaha. Edit: Tara at 14:12 flew back as if the zombie got her hahah
This is the film where I learned the term "ZEEK" when calling out ZOMBIES...
Great reaction guys perfect for a Friday!!! Made me remember how good this movie was when I first saw it…will be rewatching tonight after work! Have a great weekend, much love from Philadelphia!
There was going to be a sequel, but in the end it didn't pan out due to studio and talent conflict. I was really sad when I heard about it. This is such a great, under appreciated movie.
that mightve been the loudest Tara has screamed hahah
When they say Andrew knows everything, it's something like there was alotnof tension on this set. I'm thinking how this was based on a book from Max Brooks, Mel Brooks son, who also wrote the Zombie Handbook. He once called the greatest middleweight boxing legends Roy Jones Jr, that guy from the Matrix 2.
14:11 I don't think there's ever been anyone not taken by that jump scare. Though how the hell did none of them noticed a screaming infected right in front I'll never know

😂😂 truth!!!
I like how they figured out the solution not even halfway through 🤣
The infection time going from days, to minutes to seconds is interesting. Showing how quickly viruses mutate and get better at infecting and spreading
when tara's scream accidentally scares you more than the apartment scene jumpscare lol
Absolutely no one who whoever read the book or listened to the audiobook like this movie. It left everything out and changed the plot.
This is the 2nd quickest a movie dove into a zombie outbreak. The first was Zombieland where the first seconds within the beginning of the movie was talking about it instantly. Also "14:04 "because I'm the producer of the movie and they come when I say." Ayo? Also, also @14:10 lol! Best scream reaction ever! 🤣

“It would be bad looking all these people, but like it’s the only way to get through that traffic” my thought process every morning
56:21 I don’t think a magazine would work as a suppressor lol. Edit: They don’t have to keep providing for his family if the whole world is at risk, have some logic to your emotional thinking. This guy with the glasses is so smooth brained lol, he also makes a lot of weird, unnecessary noises that ruin the experience.
if this movie had a different name it'd be rated way higher
The last two min are closer to the book. Book is a UN historical review, where the Brad Pitt character is doing interviews for the UN, 10 years after the completion of major operations against the zombies. So you get a bunch of stories from different characters instrumental in the war. Also the zombies are slow. Amazing book by Mel Brooks son, Max.
Lile district 9, we're still waiting for a Sequel
Even after all these years, I still just randomly say "Train's in the station!" 😂😂
This has been one of my favorite reactions to this, yall took the time to follow the mystery.
You need to watch War of the Worlds next! Another “end of the world” type movie that is amazing and scary
“Please turn off pagers and cellphones”.. lol
Tara’s intros make my day 🙏
great pairing Greg👏🏼
“Hope no one is infected on the ship” 😬sequel to Train To Busan. - I know some people give the soldiers in lunch line a hard time. But, remember, even Colonels were being destroyed need evacuation. Every single soldier on that could do nothing to help their families. ( But Jerry and his family was saved).
The doctor slipping moment is such a big "gun discipline" moment.
I love watching people react to this movie! It is truly one of the scariest movies I’ve ever seen just because it’s so realistic. Also, you get very distracted by Brad Pitt’s hotness so that when the scary stuff happens, it’s even scarier! I enjoyed watching it with the two of you. 👍🏻👍🏻
Oh my God! I love that right after you delivered that sick burn to Brad Pitt you guys showed a video clip of all his kids cheering LOL
Love seeing ma home city in parts of this film ..superb as usual both ya ..awe the best Fae glesga 👍
The book is so detailed, if I remember correctly there was no certain amount of time to turn. One part where the one survivor shot a zombie and the bullet went through it and hit a comrade in an artery and instantly turned. Basically how close to a vital system affects the infection time.
One of the things I like about this movie is that it actually shows the start of the outbreak and the panic it causes. Most zombie movies are set after the outbreak is established. This movie got a lot of crap for not being an R rated horror but I think it’s really well done. It’s a very ‘real world’ take on now something like this could play out and the increasing tension building while they try and find a solution has you hooked from start to finish.
A source quoted by The Hollywood Reporter said the Chinese government's ban on films featuring zombies or ghosts was the single major reason that Paramount canceled the sequel.
“SHE GOT FLARES AT THE GROCERY STORE???”
The most realistic zombie take ever....aside from Train to Busan... And All of us are Dead....
At this point its still 12 seconds not 10 minutes. At the outset the effect time may have been days (like the soldier in S. Korea), to hours, to minutes (like with the soldiers they encountered because they saw way before it made it overseas), until it reached the states which then seconds because the virus became more and more virulent. Also the soldier with the bad leg had an infection (bacterial most likely) prior to them encountered those affected by the virus. That's why the avoided him. This is the only Zombie I like, because the infected behavior reflect the behavior of a virus always seeking transmission to a healthy host and adapting and becoming more prolific. That's why we have so many variants of viruses. *it requires a healthy host- when the family first entered the building in the states-they went around the homeless man who may have had cirrhosis of the liver, then the soldier with the infected leg, then the old man and boy who were suffering from an illness.
There wasn't anyone to stay with the RV. I love this movie!
