It took me a while to catch it back in the day, but Roshi vs Goku was not as close as it was made to appear. Roshi was actually a lot stronger than Goku at this moment. There are many moments where Goku should have lost the match before that final kick, but got saved due to interference. The first was when Roshi hit him with the hypontism move. If the announcer wasnt fussing so much about how anticlimatic the fight was amd counted on time it would have went passed 10. The second was when he hit Goku with the Lightning Flash Suprise Attack. Goku was seconds away from verbally submitting but as chance would have it he looked up at the moon. The third was when Roshi blew up the moon and Goku reverted back to his regular self he was out for much longer than 10 seconds, but of course the announcer waited for the last minute to start counting. And the fourth is simply that fact that Roshi used all of his energy to HELP Goku with that Kamehameha Wave to blow up the moon. This depleted his Ki while Goku got to still fight with his Ki still in tact. In conclusion there were several massive handicaps on Roshi during the fight and he still managed to pull out the win. Without the handicaps Roshi finishes that fight in about 15 minutes.

Absolutely. Roshi was definitely stronger but Goku had many lucky moments that got him as close as he did.

Again proof early dragon ball destroys most other verses

Man I cant wait until Brago watches the next coming episodes. This next arc is my favorite arc in all of Dragonball.

4:11 its a Damn shame that we didn't get to hear the Mezase Tenkaichi song for this fight here.

And this is the first part where i just can't stand the English version. How do you take Mezase Tenkaichi out of the final fight? It is so much less epic than the Japanese version without that x_x That being said, this remains arguably the best fight of the franchise to me. They beat each other to the point of not being able to do super speed or ki-blasts or anything. You never get that again.
