    imagine if the wireless charging strips where along the motorway (or highway as you Americans call it) in the middle of each lane so cars could charge as they drive. Of course these would have to be long but it would be cool and convenient

    I think wireless charging could be beneficial it they are mounted on the streets to charge the cars while they drive on them. Actually this recearch is being on progress so if it was to be done, you'll never need to worry about charging or range for that matter.

    #fldqofthed. Think of it this way. You could just pull up to the garage and let it charge over night and when u wake up it will be fully charged. The slow charge time doesn't really matter. And if you want a faster charge you can still plug it ink the old fashion way.

  • @Sniper269

    Another wireless charging benefit is if there is bad weather hopefully you wouldn't have to get out of the car to charge. Just pull up over the charger base, sit in the car nice and dry, warm or cool and leave after 15 mins. or so.

    the biggest advantage is just not having it to plug in when you get home, but wireless tech is not efficient meaning that you waste energy while charging and it would take a long time to charge , and they have to be aligned or it even longer to charge , the best it would be to have a self adjusting coil in the floor for it to charge when you park home, the best idea so far is the tesla Charger prototype

  • @Sniper269

    Wireless charging prevents the power cords from getting in the way in the garage as you are walking around the car doing various other day to day chores as long as the cord laying on the floor isn't a trip hazard.

    If they can install the wireless power transmitters into highways, then it's a good idea, if you just got one in the floor at home then there's no need, because you then have to park in exactly the same spot every single time aswell. And if you are not thinking about it, that won't happen, so then the car will charge slowly or not at all.

As for induction charging, it most likely slower with more loses then a wired charging, but I'm sure a lots of people will like it since plug the wire into an electric car is too much to ask! That is all. Watching you Bro.... Keep up a good job ;)

    its not wireless charging per se... as it needs to be in contact to be charged, unless if it can be charged from a distance then its true wireless charging. Standard plug charging will be less complicated and more efficient to charge.

    Wireless charging is inherently less efficient. At fixed locations it's only benefit is convenience, like in a garage car will be fully charged every morning. While embedding wireless charging tech in roadways or highways is a great concept, there are serious cost and maintenance issues; also the power has to come from somewhere and last I checked little is given away for free. BTW I drive an all electronic vehicle, and have taken road trips and experienced ZERO range anxiety. #FLDQoftheD

  • @DapperxDan
    @DapperxDan8 жыл бұрын

    #FLDQoftheD They could make it so it charges the cars while they are driving by having the roads with the wireless chargers built into them. Then the electric cars could potentially never have to be charged while they were at home because they are constantly being charged while driven. This would make the range of the car go way up because hopefully it would never actually run out of battery. Since electric cars are known for their bad range currently.

    I believe WIRELESS CHARGING is still way slower than wired. Coils on Coils still is inefficient today. Too much power goes into the coils for heat and not for charging the Device that it needs to. Biggest Advantage to having Wireless Charging is the easy charging and less hassle with a giant cable that's all. Just Park and Done. But charges way slower. #FLDQOFTHED

    The wireless charging is stupid, wirelessly charging your phone is already inefficient in comparison to just plugging it in plus there is a lot of electricity waisted. When you are talking about a cell phone its not a huge deal but once your talking about a battery that is so large the amount of electricity lost plus the extra time it takes makes it just not worth it.
