World record powerlifter does undercover lifting session with the Texas Tech football team

#tbt so one this one time I got to workout with the @texastech_fb football team!
I posed as a "new recruit" from out of state. Everyone was a little surprised when we started lifting 😅
Probably one of the coolest things I've gotten to do.
@rustywhitt was the strength and conditioning coach at the time and got it all set up. Huge thanks to him!

Nice to see a vid from you again. Some years ago you made a video about bent over rows and you showed us your style of doing these. This exercise helped me alot to gain core stability. I'm deadlifting 535now (which is huge for me) and at work, I'm a mechanic, my whole back - lower and upper!- is kinda bulletproof. You helped me a lot curing my lower back pain for the last years. Thank you, Sir, for adding so much to my life quality! Greetings from Germany Marlon

With a manual labor job what is your set and rep range like? You don't do sets of 12 or failure right? Or what does a program look like for you.

@@rye-bread5236 Hi! Usually I train twice a week, as I said full body workout. The first workout of the week is a kinda heavy workout, 3-4 sets of each exercise with 5-8 reps on deadlift, squats, bent over rows, pullups/rows, bench, forearm exercises, shoulders, hamstrings, etc. I flip some additional core stability exercises in there, as well, mainly for abs and obligues. The second exercise of the week is a high volume workout. Again full body, which is brutal on your system. At the 2nd workout I try to hit every muscle group again, but with other exercises and as I said with a lot more volume, 3-4 sets with 10-30 rep range. Even as the weights are much lower and I mix some machine workouts in there, due to the heavy volume aspect, that workout is heavy af. Don't train your muscles always with the same rep range and with the same exercise, it will hurt you in the longrun. Have a wide range of exercise and rep rotation and focus on consistent progress.

  • @V8freaks

As you progress, try to lower your rest time , this will keep your heart rate up and trains your cardio system as well. I try to always have as many exercises in 90min as I can. Brutal
