#tbt so one this one time I got to workout with the @texastech_fb football team!
I posed as a "new recruit" from out of state. Everyone was a little surprised when we started lifting 😅
Probably one of the coolest things I've gotten to do.
@rustywhitt was the strength and conditioning coach at the time and got it all set up. Huge thanks to him!

Wow! Amazing lifts. I’m turning 72 this week, and pulled 380 lbs in June at Wyoming StatePowerlifting meet. Hope I can pull 405 lbs before I get too old.

Nice to see a vid from you again. Some years ago you made a video about bent over rows and you showed us your style of doing these. This exercise helped me alot to gain core stability. I'm deadlifting 535now (which is huge for me) and at work, I'm a mechanic, my whole back - lower and upper!- is kinda bulletproof. You helped me a lot curing my lower back pain for the last years. Thank you, Sir, for adding so much to my life quality! Greetings from Germany Marlon

With a manual labor job what is your set and rep range like? You don't do sets of 12 or failure right? Or what does a program look like for you.
@V8freaks
Жыл бұрын
@@rye-bread5236 Hi! Usually I train twice a week, as I said full body workout. The first workout of the week is a kinda heavy workout, 3-4 sets of each exercise with 5-8 reps on deadlift, squats, bent over rows, pullups/rows, bench, forearm exercises, shoulders, hamstrings, etc. I flip some additional core stability exercises in there, as well, mainly for abs and obligues. The second exercise of the week is a high volume workout. Again full body, which is brutal on your system. At the 2nd workout I try to hit every muscle group again, but with other exercises and as I said with a lot more volume, 3-4 sets with 10-30 rep range. Even as the weights are much lower and I mix some machine workouts in there, due to the heavy volume aspect, that workout is heavy af. Don't train your muscles always with the same rep range and with the same exercise, it will hurt you in the longrun. Have a wide range of exercise and rep rotation and focus on consistent progress.
@V8freaks

As you progress, try to lower your rest time , this will keep your heart rate up and trains your cardio system as well. I try to always have as many exercises in 90min as I can. Brutal
I’m still working to be the best deadlifter in my gym, thank you for the inspiration!

And this why powerlifting is awesome. Seeing people lifting heavy shit that you wouldn’t think could do it. Especially going into a football setting like this where every team has a heavy lifter but then you have a 210 lb guy like Cailer walk in lol
Good to see you back, I hope this brings forth new content.
🤗The Dr. is back,🏋️ Thank you so much ❤️🔥
Awesome video duude. Please get back to breaking world records 🙏 🙏
That was awesome and hopefully inspiring for the team.
Watching how supportive the team was to a newcomer might have me pulling for Texas Tech as long as they are not playing LSU.
Great video. Quick and to the point. That guy is strong.
I love this stuff. Thank you .

Glad you are either a Flatlander or living here. Great job. I will try to follow for when you are competing
Knew a guy that was a nationally ranked power lifter. One of my son’s football coaches also knew him. Asked him to attend an offseason practice to give the players pointers and help with form. It was motivating for the players to see a guy bench 500 lbs without breaking a sweat.
What a fun video, haven't seen this one
It's interesting how when guys see someone who's their better, they don't seem to be bothered, they're like "dayum, good for him"

in 2021 he tore a pec (not from lifting) and a quad, and a lat, and 11 months later re-tore the lat. maybe there are some concoctions of medications that can be injected to accelerate healing, maybe it’s just bad luck, but either way it will take time
Damn, never knew Cailer lives in the same city as me. That knowledge is gonna add 10% to my max, easy

You probably don’t know how to brace properly as well as lack the core stability / strength to support that strong brace. I know how it feels I only learned recently and it’s made a world of difference, I feel like I can do anything with a barbell now that I know how to brace properly. I mean the last clip is good but you train conventional deadlift most the time why would you want your wr doing sumo? When you clearly can train longer and get it to your thighs instead of just your knees? No hate just wondering why would you make that trade because you are almost pro strongman level why not make it legitimate instead of opting out for sumo
