Indeed, the close-up coverage of faces is one of the things that bugs me about TV coverage. You can count the pitcher's beard hairs, but you can't see if the runner on first is looking to steal.

There are a number of solid players from Europe. NC State who is currently no. 8 in the nation 2 guys from the Czech Republic. Texas' Ace pitcher a couple of years ago was from Italy. Italy, The Netherlands, and the Czech Republic have produced some solid players.

They probably weren't miked. Shotgun mics can pick up sound perfectly from meters away. And teams usually have camera guys recording their practices for them so they can watch tape after practices. But yea we don't know.

As someone who lives in the San Diego area, I definitely liked this one. Kris played for the University of San Diego and, as a junior, was the college home run leader. I see off to the side a You Tube of Kris being pranked by Greg Maddux. I will have to watch that one.
