Or to the time when another glorious gigantic shell aimed at a cardboard tank ricocheted off it's paper thin armor

this was completely unrealistic. They didn't mention the D point once in the war thunder lore.

I partially agree with what you said, I don't think the War Thunder community is as toxic as the World of Tanks community, in WoT I played on the server in South America and Central America, and there was always someone being toxic, but in WT I've only seen this happen a couple of times, and I've been playing for 6 months.

I've played both and if you want some good realistic gameplay i recommend WT if you just want to play some tanks and you don't mind praying for good RNG you might prefer WOT In WT you get the ability to spawn multiple times a game, you can also get funny moments where your enemies just drive past you without seeing you WOT I'd say is on the more dynamic side like everything is faster If you want something in between WT (realistic) and WOT you could try WT arcade battles they have the modular damage of WT and spotting system similar to WOT (if your tank's not spotted you're still visible but not marked on the map) also in arcade tanks and planes get faster

Ya think WT is more RNG than WoT? Well for starters, wt doesn’t have the aiming circle, you dont need to depend on having better tanks than the enemy team, and u dont have to worry about high rolling or low rolling your shots. And this comes from guy who has played both

@@samuel15097 Yes Wt dosnt have the aiming circle, but dispersion is still a thing. The projectile is not everytime hitting the exact spot you aimed for and the increases over distance. If you want to try it out test drive a tank (prefarebly with a short barrel) and shoot at the same spot several times. You will see that the projectile is sometimes hitting around the place u aimed for

@@chomp5558 I mean that's a realistic thing and it happens only for short barreled guns of more than 57mm and with howitzer cannons, mostly 150mms and that too at ranges more than 300metres for short barreled and more than 800metres for long barrels

OMG some kid in 1946 USSR draw a tank on his homework let's put it in game, and also collab with some Japanese cartoon so our game wont die out too soon. Vs. Overpressure, tank shell ricochet from 1mm plate, revenge CAS, high tier TKer, R3 T20, meaningless grinding, mediocre event prize requires hard grind. Harrier Gr.1 player with 5 min total playtime. And recent deformable soil and highly advance rail transportation technologies(huge thank for Haaton reminds me of these feature) Oh also both player base are mostly toxic.

no shit, the playerbases of both games are filled with keyboard generals and political kiddies

If I had to figure out the lore for them WoT: some kind of strange games show tournament thing in which someone or thing is financing the production of vehicles that never even left the drawing board and modifying historical ones so they can mount weapons they physically couldn’t. Basically it feels like Girls und panzer where everything is simulated for the crews and they face no real danger and battle over meaningless objectives. Warthunder: some kind of shared hell scape fever dream dead service men from the 1900s somehow found themselves in. And as spirits they have forgotten who and why they fight so a German crew won’t bat an eye at fighting along side a Soviet crew, a French crew, and a Chinese crew against Japan, Italy, and America as they battle through the brunt out ruins of Berlin. Likewise crews are so confused you see men who served and died decades after each other just assuming they are from the same time explaining why post war vehicles show up even in early WWII.

I think the best way I can think to put it is that those games have lost their souls. When you play a game that was made by someone who really cares about the game and the player, you can feel that, like the creators of the game have put their hearts and souls behind the game. War Thunder feels like it once had that, but has since lost it.

You forgot how WoT Halloween events has connections to each story like Steel hunter,Last Waffentrager and Mirny 13 (best lore imo)

I played WoT for 5 years, and WT for 5 months, the fact is that in World of Tanks you usually suffer from Bias, whereas in WT you suffer from grind and when you are "gaijined"

Funny enough, it's the WoT that recently tries to do some actual lore to the game with each halloween event, with each of the events actually connecting to one another. Plus, never in my life have I heard anyone call World of Tanks realistic in any way.

Though I would argue that there are some realistc aspects about it especially the physics, like the roll over threshold being much more realistic, and collision damage from falling and hitting another tank!

i love warthunder and i have over 3000hours in it, i've been playing since 2013 ( i've left and came back many times)... I'm confident enough to say that warthunder is not as realistic as it looks, there is a heavy delay that make most things random, lots of bullshit happens, bugs, poor map design for top tier (they are improving it lately), there is lot of things in it that make obvious that gaijin dont play the game , and the grind is insane ( even if u dont work and play all day would take u months to unlock a single tech tree).

Well the thing is that WT is only realistic for people that have no contact at all with sims and had play to much BF series lol But it has 2 strong points that no one mention, its easy to play, anyone can play it no problems and you can olay it while doing other stuff like watching netflix, youtube or even playing other game at the same time Its simplicity and easiness its what makes it special

War Thunder: suffering from the air, land, and sea

world of tanks is more fun, less grindy, and generally better as a casual, but war thunder is more realistic, gives you a kick in an unexpected way but also gives you a feeling that world of tanks doesn't, so bith are good in their own ways

Considering that in both games you can't buy highest rank/tier vehicle both are equally p2w.

WT is so realistic. When your tank burts into flames, you can feel your ass burning too.

i find war thunder to come on once in a while and have fun with realistic tank damage very cool

WoT is an Arcade game...it's not meant to be realistic

At best it is pseudo realistic.

I play WT but I love all the videos the WOT channel puts out

War thunder’s new plane sounds got my heart rate spiking when I hear them IRL. I don’t know whether to say it’s impressively real sounding or terrifyingly real sounding

I love war Thunder, other games are just too boring and easy. I love the struggle of war Thunder, how hard it is. I genuinely enjoy suffering in WT, it shows your weak spots and what you need to improve on. War Thunder is love

Feels more like the whole Sunderland/Newcastle rivalry. One is permanently in the shadow of the other which doesn't even really know it exists.

Every time i rewatch it it feels like its getting faster

As much I love warthunder I hate its fanbase , they always try to push " warthunder is better than wot and it's more realistic " , man everyone know this even world of tanks community and in the end nobody cares wot players gonna play wot and warthunder players will play WT. To be honest I have never seen such hate in wot community towards warthunder, 99% wot players really like warthunder too and they don't hate it they respect this game.

The pain is worse than war when for the fifth time the round bounces off the tank but your like a piece of butter when they shoot you..

I feel like the relationship between WT and WOT is like the relationship between Battlefield and COD, Battlefield and WT be taking a fat dump on their counterparts, and the counterparts would not give a damn, like no one in WOT communities ever talk about WT, and WT be like hUh HuH wOt GaMe BaD, WT SuPeRiOr. Like bruh just get off with your superiority complex. Maybe its not like this but from what I see this is what the relationship seem like.

The 2 games arent even remotely similar, most people dont talk about WoT on WT most of the time, maybe a joke here and there. It's just the small community of 12 year olds who hasnt grasped the concept that WoT isnt meant to be realistic, genuinely cant leave WoT alone, they are the most vocal. We're actually jealous of how good WoT hull aiming is, Gaijin just cant seem to get it right for some reason lol.

The difference between WoT and WT is that in War Thunder when something kills you from a mile away you at least know that the tank at least existed at some point in history

I played both of them. I personally more enjoy WT, beacouse its more historicaly accurate. But my friend like WoT, cuz of complex game mechanics. Both good games.

As a player of both games i need to say that both games have some things made more realistic than other game. Eg. When i decided to play some WoT (i was playing for total of like 4/5 years both blitz and original) after 5 years of playing WT i was shocked how realistic is physic of tracks. Just let people play what they like. Rly sorry for my bad english grammar ._. Thats not my native language

World of tanks: all of our vehicles are irl or inspired by irl War thunder: all our vehicles were stolen directly from classified military documents

I think we can agree that War thunder research system although grindy is at least better than playing in one tank and dying multiple times.

Well at least in WT, your suffering is ended in 1 shot or 1 bomb Example, Tiger II. In WoT you'll get bullied by enemy teams dan throwing money and pen your armor while you cant do anything. All you can do is just watching your HP draining fast and go back to garage. While in WT you get killed by single shot from jumbo and done, you didnt feel lots of pain, and you can comeback with other tank to try to punch them back.

I mean, before the WT tanks came out, WoT could really be the closest MMO game to reality (excluding single-player projects, as well as dead projects) Well, now it makes no sense to compare a fun arcade game and a simulator game, and, I think, it is obvious why this is so. But to make memes about it ... A new indicator of absurdity and toxicity, even with WoT cannot be compared :)

This argument is the same as the Simcade vs Sim vs Arcade racing argument. Different games for people with different tastes. WoT if you like playing for longer and don't want to get nuked in 1 shot, and WT for realism fanboys.

@@armoredlumberjack1999 in WT you hit Tiger, and he eats shell with MG, or drivers hatch, then u try pen (With 200+ mm shell pen) some panzer in front plate right in hatch, where is 80-100 mm, AND U CAN'T BECAUSE OF RЕTАRDЕD Volumetric shells, which don't work at all in that crap-game about pseudo-realism without any realism.

world of tanks: drive and shoot. war thunder: be in poland, driving for 5 years just to get shot by some dude a tree line, represented by two pixels.
