World Hour Record Attempt on Speedskates - Part 2

On the 5th of July I‘ll be attempting to set a new World-Hour-Record on my Speedskates. Get to know more about the attempt, my preparation and the equipment I‘ll be using in Part 2 of the WHR series!
This project is supported by VESMACO, arena geisingen, DRIV and @PowerslideInlineskates - Thanks to them I'll be able to try to skate the perfect hour!

Which wheel size would you have chosen? 110mm or 125mm?

I prefer 110, but you are much stronger ;) nevertheless you will manage to exceed this 40 km. And not just by inches ;)

125 here also. It's significantly easier to maintain speed with them imho

125 of course. You will have to do it again at some point just to prove that 125 is faster. But until then, good luck and make some history!

We are cheering for you, Felix. Go for 40k! Long ago, someone challenged Eric Heiden (remember him?) to skate 50 laps of long track in the down position. He skated 52 laps (outdoors too). I am hoping you can channel Heiden and fight through the pain in the final laps. Good luck!

Coole Sache ! Stell ich mir schon hart vor auf einer 200m Runde, das gibt viel Kurvenarbeit. Ich wünsche Dir einen perfekten Tag. Du weisst schon ein Tag an dem man voll abdrücken kann und wo man das Feeling für die richtige Bewegung hat und in seinen Rythmus kommt. Ich hätte 110er genommen mit so viel Kurve. Freu mich schon auf den Anlass :)
Was für ein Interessanter Sport! Ich denke immer Triathlon hat mehr Aufmerksamkeit verdient, aber Speedskating ist ja noch viel unbekannter und *fast* genau so cool. Viel Glück bei deinem Rekordversuch!👍🏼

Also du wirst die Matter Bahnrolle Propel 110mm fahren, OK? Ich fahre nur Strasse, halb so schnell wie du (hobby tempo), und keine Bahn und bin mit Matter G13 sehr, sehr zufrieden. Welche Rollen fährst du beim Marathon? Gibt es noch bessere Rollen für die Strassse, als die G13? Danke für deine Antwort. Halte dir alle Daumen beim Rekord-Versuch!

Why does World Skate care which size wheels you use to break the record?
Can you please make a vedio on frame adjustment amd positioning in right way??
What does your dietary intake look like within the 24 hours leading up to this feat? God speed big man! 🙏🏼

Perfect! Is there any consideration to body weight ? or are you planning on maintaining where you at? Will you do a practice run and can you video that as well? 🤷🏻♂️ fun as hell man 😀

Actually my last test run was 45min last weekend and not captured on camera. Got too wait a little bit longer 😅
Did you choose a tighter heel cup since it would only be worn for 1 hour or was it made in the same mold as your regular custom boots ?? Congratulations by the way

No. Same tight but comfortable fit as my other McCargo boots. Obviously you need to wear the skates for many hours during training...

@@FelixRijhnen1 Thanks, I was thinking in a Cycling time trial world record attemps , where the cyclist use a very uncomfortable bike to be used only once for the hour record attempt ... Incredible pace and speed Again thanks for the fast reply
what is the fastest setup in your opinion? perfect conditions on flat 4x100 4x110 3x110 3x125? what about a light long stretched out lower profile 3x110 or even 3x100? Any and all opinions would really be appreciated! it's hard to find information, and its not popular here in Boston US.
