The Philippines overtakes India in call centers and workers are paid well in comparison to other industries.

India gave up the position as the call center capital of the world because they started to focus on software development and other sectors of the IT industry. They left the job of appeasing irate customers to the Philippines. India didn't lose here but entered a breakthrough.

Sooo not true. They dont just drop it like that Indians are good when it comes to finance and consultancy they are not dumb to just let go of something that contribute to their economy. You are just sweet lemonizing things there a lot of things to consider such as flexible accent where Indian cannot outshine Filipinos.

Jayrald Ado both the Philippines and India have a wrong sense of development. Manufacturing is the only way a developing country can transition into a middle income country. China, Malaysia, Taiwan, South Korea and Japan are living examples. Moral of the story build factories not call centers offices.

India gave up? I beg to disagree, Those BPO companies transferred to Philippines for simple reason, Filipinos have a more neutral accent almost like Americans.

I love it. I love the Philippine people, much respect for jungle fighters. You actually speak English and Spanish and understand normal human communication! Those damn India call centers make me want to blow my brains out! "I can't log in, I've reset my password, it still says account is locked..." Indian" Ok, let me understand this.................. I can help you! I will tell you how to reset your password!"

when the Philippines takes a leap on its economy/tourism, manmade calamities(Zamboanga debacle) or natural (Hurricane Yolanda) happens that one would think that people and nature conspire to make the Philippines bend to its knees. Is it bad to think that some other people/nation do not want the Philippines to develop that they might be spending money to disrupt whatever steps the gov/t is taking with rallies here and there (are they being financed/pushed from outside?)
