Shorty after they upgraded to a working shed fire since they were getting multiple calls. 4300 arrived and confirmed a working shed fire. The first due engine was 4201 and they pulled a 1 3/4 line off the truck and hit the fire. The fire was quickly knocked and overhaul was completed. Our local engine company went after a shed fire with a 1-3/4 hand line and that shed was bigger than this. the 2-1/2 attack lines a nice touch. good knockdown. Wonder why the guy at first used a pressurized water extinguisher for it... the shed way too involved at that point.

Holy shit that’s pathetic. The chief pissing on it with a straight stream from a water can. WTF is going on with volly Dept these days. I’m surprised they didn’t lay in for that. PD could have knocked that down. Why didn’t they pull a booster or trash line for this? 1.3/4 is overkill. Must be rookie hose humpers wanting to look good. All that hose now has to be packed up. Isn’t any DPW workers on the FD? A flower water pickup truck could have taken care of this.

Why are you so mad? PD couldn't have knocked it down, see how the Chief's water can did little to help? You think PD has more than a water can? Further, their apparatus simply does not have a booster line or trash line, what's the next smallest hose? 1.3/4. Also you say all that hose has to be packed up like it's a hard thing to do. Packing hose is like one of the easiest parts of firefighting lol

@@ChathamFireDeptfan not mad at all. I had a good laugh at it. You like packing hose? I don’t. I can only imagine a shore town would be dealing with dumpster fires and small burns like that beach comber sheds. You should relax a little. And also if you know how to use a fire extinguisher you’d be amazed at what you can knock down with a fire extinguisher. Water can can be use for more then hot spots and back step decorations

@Frank come on. Its not a scam. You got two or three services from one set of guys. You got DPW work, first aid and fire service. That’s pretty damn good services from one set of guys. It’s worked for a long time. Growing up the horn blew and the DPW trucks lined the side of the apron and two trucks with a full crew were in service in minutes. They were getting water on the fire or cutting open a car PDQ. Now that these towns are getting greedy with DPW not being a to respond, the response time has tripled. Hell sometimes it goes third request with automatic request to surrounding town. How’s that good service? Big cities, yeah paid crew sitting around polishing the bell and bumper waiting for a call, some of these small town wouldn’t benefit from a regional paid service. Residential homes are not build to withstand a long response time. 5 minute burn and the house is soon to be a surround and drown
