Amplify that by a thousand when it comes to apple haters. Apple is well known for not hammering people with ads.. That's not their business.. That's Google's thing, with Android... Spyware and location tracking etc isn't really what Apple does, at all. Would the App Store be this bad at recommending stuff I might want if they were spying on me and focusing hard on advertisement? Some people just want to stoke their own paranoia.

Well you better not buy it for this reason because you will regret it. As a VR user myself its really not comfortable at all after few hours, Your head will hurt from the weight(these are heavier than quest i got). Your eyes will burn because for some reason i find myself blinking less so i have to take breaks constantly to ease up on my vision. Sharpness of text is apperantly good on the parts you concentrate your vision on but rest is blurry.. I feel like thats gonna make your eyes hurt even more. You will sweat like a pig after a while btw. Future updates wont fix these issues. Future versions will so dont get baited. Im still waiting for more compact versions mysel because its really not comfortable at all to use for work.

One of the Developer videos from WWDC outlined that the headset will remember significant locations and keep things pinned in the same spot even after you leave and come back. So if you have specific things pinned at home, and then you go to the office and have specific things pinned there when you get back home once it rescans the room, all of your stuff should be in the exact same place you had it anchored and vice versa which is pretty cool too!

That 'sharing' ability is available in the API and developers are working on that right now. I'd assume most apps/experiences will be able to handle that smoothly by the time Vision 2 comes out.

YES! Great demo! I've been using Quest Pro with Immersed and pre-ordered AVP because I want to work like this too. I tested Zoom last night, my companies main form of meetings. Works fairly ok, but not good for presenting because it simply broadcasts your view. I can already hear the meeting attendees, "STOP Moving, you're making me sick!" :-) ...... I LOVE that windows/apps stay anchored to each world. What I hope is coming is the ability to pin an app/window to your head. If I'm in a Zoom/Teams meeting, I'd like that to have a window of that travel with me from room to room.

It’s great technology, and it almost feels unreal to witness this kind of tech being developed. The thing is, despite being fantastic under every single aspect, I really don’t see the utility that it could serve in an average person’s everyday use. Again, it is incredible to think that something like this exists, but who really needs some like this in his daily routine? If I think about it, I would love to have one, but on the other hand I think “well I would use it a lot in the first week, but after the first impact of WOAH I would run out of things to try, and get back to my regular flat screen devices”

  • @himelstech

Honestly, after using it for a couple of days I'm realizing 2 things: 1. I don't prefer wearing this over my standard ultra-wide setup. But I would absolutely be using this pretty consistently any time I'm traveling/away from my standard setup and need to get some real work done. A lot of my work requires having lots of windows open at the same time. 2. I'm actually preferring watching movies/shows on this rather than my 55" OLED, but most of my content consumption happens alongside my partner on the couch so that's also not super realistic.
