It's literally how Wootz/ Damascus was made. Well, without the power tools ofc.
Another masterpiece look forward to seeing what will be next.
Wow, this video is absolutely fascinating! The art of making a Japanese kaiken knife from WOOTZ steel derived from staples is truly impressive. The craftsmanship and attention to detail are evident throughout the entire process. I never would have imagined that such a beautiful and functional knife could be created from seemingly ordinary materials. The combination of forging skills and creative ingenuity showcased in this video is truly commendable. Thank you for sharing this unique and captivating knife-making journey with us. I can't wait to try making my own kaiken knife someday

Beautiful knife mate! :O
Love your vids man, beautiful work. You took my advice many many vids ago on the mosaic pins. Man do they “pop”. Front and rear jimping and finger choil would make the blade a badass bush knife. Great video work, thank you for sharing your time, skill set and craft with us.
Very nice.

Muito linda! Adorei o design
Great work from my favorite metallurgist knifemaker on KZread. When you were bending the steel staples over to make the blend I wonder if you could incorporate small steel ball bearings INSIDE all staple as you fold it over. Like a pre taco. I like this design as a knife. I would use it although pricey
Great profile!

Your so talented the knives you make are amazing
damn this is a beautiful knife 🥹
Wow that’s amazing! Do you think that a coffee etch could bring out the pattern even more? I know it works on Damascus, but I don’t know about wootz steel.
Always love the video. Could you make a chisel tip knife video, since that is something I haven't seen you make yet?
It never ceases to amaze me how little that ingot moves under the hammer. I am familiar with the process, but what kind of hrc is that metal before during and after the forging?
There was a duel edged dagger that i seen some years back that had an interesting grind. It was a spear point shape but only the left side of the blade was sharpened. If you flipped it over you'd expect the right side would be sharpened, but you'd be wrong. No matter what side of the blade was in your hand, the left side would be the cutting edge... Made for an interesting point
Have you considered making a wootz damascus longsword? I've looked around for a while, and I haven't found any examples yet, so they seem to be uncommon. You could easily be one of the first to have made one in a while.
Another amazing creation!! Your skill are outstanding. A few questions: Are you using coal to as a heat course? How hot do you get the wootz when forging to keep it from cracking during the forging process?
💪💪💪
how about making a blade from your cut-offs and grinding/sanding slag?
It always amazes me how dense and hard to move the billet is at first. It's almost like the grain pattern is interlocked on itself
An extremely beautiful blade, even among your usual excellent productions. Also: That "North Pole" was very creepy, and deserved to be sliced up.
Beautiful knife! What is that tool you used to polish the blade?
Is the gray stuff that you mixed with the staples iron filings or steel filings?
whats the paste you put on the blade for polishing after sanding?
What is that paste you always put on? Is it for sharpening, or shining?
gostei
Beauty, is making wootz that much hader than day damascus? It seems mldre straight forward to me. Ever just melt an 80crv2 bar?
Nice joob bro, realy incredible! Do you can make a different balisoong? like a CS Balissong ou a Karambit Balissong, wold be amazing, big fan, Good bless u
Very knife as usual 👍👍

👏👏👏👏👏👏🤜🤛
Lovely piece of work. Your oil can has Katakana on it. It says, Mo-ta O i ru. Su to ro n gu, se-bu...nani nani.
You should get a sharpness tester to show how sharp they are
beaut
keep forgetting to ask what is the curved metal that you use when you first start hand sanding? a file? or a curved piece with a piece of sanding paper attached?
What are you using when polishing i see you do it every video but cant find the technique.
What is the cost$ of this kind of nice? Very nice work👌

Ive told you many times that some of us recognize your titles as misleading. From today on i start reporting them.
come on..its bad enough some people wrongly use the term damascus steel you go to another level by saying this wootz steel.
