    why curved handle on a dagger, that trigger me off. A kriss is made to pierce, curved handle is made to slash, it's even worse, curved handle break your strength on piercing. I mean, it's a very good job. but a very poor thinking aside. I guess it's aestethic, and it's everything that matters in 2k24

    isnt there more of the powdered metal in the final product than the valves? it would seem it's less important what the flavor of the day is and more detail on the powdered metal "filler"

    Is there an advantage using wootz steel?

  • @SilvaDreams
    @SilvaDreamsКүн бұрын

    If this was Wootz Steel.. No. Wootz Steel is made from ores that have been contaminated with impurities like sulfer and was poorly refined so when it was poured into a cast it naturally developes the crystaline lines as it cools and recrystalizes. (Essentially it's a poorly refined steel) This was just pattern welded steel which is when you take two types of steel and weld them together then acid dip them so it brings out a pattern that you can control depending on how it's worked.

    The broken glass pieces are for a flux on top right? What is the black powder for, is it like something highlight flammable to melt the glass faster? I've always wanted to ask but for some reason never have lol

  • @SilvaDreams
    @SilvaDreamsКүн бұрын

    The gray powder was powderized steel to make up for the lack of material just from the valve heads. And yes because glass is just refined sand (aka silicon) it is used as a flux. And I have to say this because it erk me.. This wasn't Wootz steel, it's just pattern welded steel. Wootz Steel is made from contaminated ores and poured into a mold thus giving the wavy lines due to natural cystaline patterns forming due to sulfer and anything else contaminating the steel. (Basically it's really poorly made steel)

    ‏‪1:02‬‏ What are those powders?

  • @SilvaDreams
    @SilvaDreamsКүн бұрын

    Steel powder (To make up the second steel), likely some powdered charcoal and glass(to act as a flux). What he made as just pattern welded steel. Wootz Steel is essnetially a poorly made steel that had contaminations in the ore like sulfer which recrystalize when it's poured into a mold thus the random patterns it forms unlike this.
