Fellow South Africans, please don't judge me but it was only yesterday that I figured out that there are two types of milktarts, baked and fridge. I always wondered why some appealed more to my taste buds than others but I worked it out yesterday.

What's the point of making this video if you don't give the quantity of ingredients. Waisted 6 min 34 seconds watching it.

Joy Time you realize that the comment before you was the link to the website for the recipe. The video is a guide in how to make it and was recorded live which is why they were rushing.

Mother was from SA, visited in 1976 to meet her family and have fond memories of this dessert.

Love milk tart as well from Zimbabwe and mostly family south africa

I used my own measurements but I understand your frustration. Making pastry the butter sugar mixture will lead you as to the flour you should add, if u used to making porridge or cream spinach second part is easy.

She has a woolies accent. Makes all the sense.

Thank you for sharing Zola. Fantastic recipe, I REALLY enjoyed watching. I've been doing a bit of research on the "web" and like your approach the most. Even better than the boere tannies!!!

So basically, the filling is what we Americans would call vanilla custard. Looks yummy.
