Woodturning - My best firewood transformation into a stunning project
Ойын-сауық
Prepare to be amazed by the woodturning transformation of a simple piece of firewood into a breath-taking work of art. Using the precision and skill of a woodturning lathe, I have created a stunning hybrid epoxy resin bowl that will leave you in awe.
The natural beauty of the firewood is enhanced and preserved as it becomes the foundation for this extraordinary creation. As green infused deep pour epoxy resin are carefully poured, they encapsulate the wood's unique grains and textures, creating an exquisite marriage between nature and craftsmanship.
This hybrid epoxy resin bowl serves as more than just a decorative piece - it's a testament to creativity and innovation.

Thank you so much 😀 It is actually so common in the woodturning world they named “funnel club” when someone does that and joins the elite club 🤣 Only happened once to me. Considering i have done hundreds of projects that not too bad. I am constantly measuring the depth and bottom thickness and always aim to leave a little extra at the bottom.
How satisfying must that be, loved it. I did some wood turning when at grammar school I only wish I carried on with it. Making things these days is so rare buying crap fro China seems the way the young buy stuff in this day and age.
The color contrast is fantastic! Another stunning piece!

Amazing job. I am curious about how long it took minus the epoxy cure time.
Awesome bowl. What’s the solution you use to wet sand and the white paste for the shine?
I’ve often wondered if these holes and crevices could be sandblasted.
What do you use to release bowl from wood? Great job.
Very nice. Where did you get that giant chisel seen at 6:00?
Absolutely stunning! But can I ask why you didn't cut out the inner bowl so that you had another form? It could have been the mini version of fantastic! I really enjoy your work.
@DavidsWoodturning

Thank you so much 🙂 You are totally right. I thought about it, but when looked at the inner core I found the end bowl would have been too small. But it always nice to save materials so actually regretted not using it at the end...

I throw ceramics on the wheel and have noticed that it is important to slow down the motion of the tool as one approaches the axis of rotation. It is moving across fewer inches per second of the object because the rotation rate is constant and the radius is getting smaller. It makes spirals in the clay if you move too fast at the center, but wood probably just pushes the tool around.
@DavidsWoodturning

Thanks for sharing this. Very agree, it does the same effect if the chisel moves too fast. For finishing passes I always slow down the movements and take very gentle passes
