Woodturning - Burly Firewood to Beautiful Vase

In this woodturning video, I will be showcasing the process of transforming a firewood tree burl into a stunning hybrid vase. This burl, which has been completely air-dried, possesses an abundance of character but required the discerning eye of an artist to save it from being burned and grant it an extended lifespan. By incorporating red epoxy resin into the project, I successfully turned things around and created a remarkably contemporary and ornamental piece. Multiple coats of clear lacquer were then applied to ensure protection and achieve a premium, high-gloss finish.

Another beautiful demonstration of artistic and technical skill to extract almost unbelievable characteristics from old wood and added resins subjected to an artist's realised perceptions.

That is absolutely gorgeous. I can imagine an LED candle in the center with a flicker setting, casting light like a wood fire in the heart of that vase.
When you had it at the first cylinder, It made me think of a map with red oceans.

Excellent piece. When you started pulling the bark off I wondered for a moment if there would be any wood left. The resin filled in wonderfully. Came out beautifully.

This is very nice. Only thing is, I would be a bit concern is this lumber treated? If not, thinking this can cause to have bugs/insects. imo
I seen you dip your fingers in the glue...ouch... I'm sure your creation was well worth the pain :)
Did you use a pressure pot for the resin cure? What's the paper your using to wrap the wood with? Nice work as always.
What did you do the wrap mold with?

You may already be doing this but I would talk to some of the fire wood cutters to have them save ya interesting pieces. These guys shouldn't want nearly as much as ordering wood. If they come through for ya you might make them a bowl? As someone who appreciates a fine piece of wood I love it when you turn fire wood. Taking something that was going to be destroyed and making it into a cherished piece is really good.

Yeah, great to build mould out of it but not easy to remove. Good it is very cheap so not a big deal :)
