Woodturning - The Pregnant Firewood Transformation
Ойын-сауық
Woodturning a giant black locust fire wood into a stunning hybrid wooden bowl with carved feet. This wood had and still have some great figuring and formation and certainly the original look reminded me to a mommy bump. Love how some burls pop up across the wood and used some deep pour epoxy resin to fill some of the voids. Finished with Rubiomonocat what certainly did the job to pop the grain.

What blows me away is, you take an ordinary piece of wood and turn it into a masterpiece. Well done, David. 👏👏🇦🇺

Thank you so much 😀 Certainly that is the best part. Bought more incredible firewood to be repurposed 😉
Wow - mind blown 🤯 that is a seriously beautiful bowl - the black locust fire wood has amazing patterning and along with the perfect choice in the colour of resin and your wood turning genius makes this bowl a work of art! Also love watching how you create the three little feet for it too 😃
WOW! The bird’s eye in that wood is insane, lost souls everywhere. I don’t know if you’ve ever considered it but with your skills, you’d make a fantastic tobacco pipe maker. High end too, big money to be made buddy. 👍👏👏👏👏
Beautiful! That resin looks perfect with the wood. Well done!

I love how, even though you had a bucket full of resin, the final bowl is still 99% wood.
Very beautiful bowl David.
David, beautiful, I especially love the 'little feet' TYFS

I like to do all sorts of woodworking. But I guess designing and cutting photos of people and wildlife. But by hand not by c&c. Getting interested more and more in the lathe and your use of other machines with the lathe teaches me. Thank you.
Beautiful bowl! Love how you used resin to fill in the holes. The color of resin you used is perfect! 👍🤎

@@DavidsWoodturning - I don't really have a favorite as they're all soooo beautiful and masterpieces. I do like the combo of the resin and wood so I would have to say any piece that has a little colored resin in it.
jak zwykle piękna rzecz, serdecznie pozdrawiam😃👍
With the figuring of the wood, if it had been done in blue it would look like an elevation map with lakes! Love the end result!
Great work. I'm impressed with your lathe tools. Do you have a coring system?👍👍
Memang mantap sekali 👍👍♥️❤❤❤

If profanity would express my wonderment better, I would use it. That's really good. I love Locust wood.
Amazing bowl, how do you connect the chuck to the tailstock Please

Over complicated process to make a simple wooden bowl. Don't see the point in using resin.

Long thin strips of burl in resin for a bowl or other project ? 🤔

Tried similar but once you add resin to amy shavings it makes it so dark doesn’t look very nice. I may try coming up with a project 😉
