Nonetheless, I like the simple stride to step directions laid out there.

All those beautiful scraps cut off. Could be knife handles and pen blanks. I'm crying inside

I'm surprised there was any wood left over to turn... And in the end he covered it in plastic!!

I was dying to see that huge wooden disc turned into two huge bowls by just cutting the whole thing in half!

This is beautiful, but I don't understand what it is supposed to be... There are so many cool things you could've made with that beautiful wood, but I have no idea what it is that you made...

Look around your home … paintings (pictorial art is good for the soul, but pretty much useless in the practical sense). I have vases, carvings and bowls which are in a very real sense absolutely useless. The vases and bowls will never hold anything, the carvings will never pour my coffee. Why does this need to be any different?

A lot of what he is doing is totally different from how I was shown. Saying that, he is a true artist

When you're to seeing lovely bowls, hollow forms and other resin cast turnings all the time, this can be hard to accept. But everyone's got an idea & culture plays a big part. This is an absolutely stunning outcome, love it or not, it is definitely appreciated wherever it is now. He should have done this and that and so much waste, really? All along he had that in his mind before execution and he delivered. Acknowledge and then give your view before jumping into negativity.

И что в итоге получилось? Вишенку в углубление положить или свечку поставить? Где тут лучшая резьба в мире? Токарные работы среднего уровня. Хороший красивый материал а изделие непонятного предназначения и далеко не красивое.

это не материал даже , это корневище пальмы , материал полное гавно , он никакой просто только капилярный рисунок хоть как то его красит , а работа реально 1 класс 2 четверть , слепил что то непонятно зачем , бред полный , диз однозначно

Amazing talent considering the fact that he doesn’t have an adjustable tool rest and that tool has a very long reach. One mistake and that tool is moving somewhere awfully fast. The angle grinder takes care of the chatter, but the guy is good at whaat he does.

Looks like Thuya Burr to me from the Atlas Mountains area of North Africa.

🌲🌳🍀🐾🦉Nice piece. Nice lathe. Experienced craftsmanship👍😉. But I like American redwood, walnut, & cherry burls a bit more. You should see the "figure" in those burls - they're jaw-dropping😲. Nature + Time = Absolute Perfection🦉🐾🍀🌳🌲.
