Woodturning an Easy Christmas Ornament
This Ornament is made using a piece of leftover maple branch.
“Many of the woods I use are from trees that have been cut down due to disease or to make way for construction. This is wood that would otherwise be burned or end up in a landfill.
To me, it is exciting to find the hidden beauty in a chunk of wood. Even a very plain piece of wood offers design opportunities. When working with plain wood, I often enhance the wood by carving or burning. My carved and burned designs mimic textures and patterns found in nature.

Thanks Uncle Mike! Hope you didn't fall off!
As always, a cracking and relatively simple project, what a fantastic shape, beautiful 👍 If you parted to the same depth each time, then you'd have a sphere within a sphere ... even better, cut a concave curve for the parted bits, would look like an apple core with rings round it ... I can send a few pics to making it easier to understand 🤣

Nicely done - simple, attractive Christmas tree ball. What is the material sprinkled on after spray finish ?
