Genuine question Olivier: Where does this work end up? Should be somewhere where it can be seen. Particularly by children, motivate a little “Nothing is impossible” in them. I just dislike the idea it finishes up at the back of a workshop gathering dust.

I find you very fascinating and exciting to watch specially when you do designs like this with all the different pieces of wood, glue them together and come out with something totally beautiful I’ve never seen anybodyyet that does work like you. You’re truly amazing how you see things in your mind and Turnwood into beautiful pieces of art the way you do. Love this one and I’m looking forward to watching you for a long time. Keep up the good work.❤❤❤

That is nothing short of amazing! Almost as much about the maths, science and the ability to hold your breath at those moments of discovery, as it is about the wood turning. They say if a man finds something he loves to do, he will never work a day in his life and it appears that you won't. Mind you, you may never be seen for the obviously lengthy periods that you spend in the man cave, creating, and so these works of art and the videos, may be the only testament that Olivier Gomez actually existed.

Of all the woodworking I have seen, yours uses the most wood per piece, or better said has the least amount of waste. The engineer in me appreciates how effectively you use materials. There is a lot of design work that went into the piece so the rings fit properly. I would count that in the time invest as well. The wood type placement creates beautiful coloring. The rim of ebony especially capped the vase well. Thank you for the novel camera perspectives and videography, even if the app overheated! Bravo!

I loved how you filmed things and were creative about how you presented your work. For example, I loved the self multiplying, filming from the inside, and the filming on the wood as it went into and out of the planer.

Everyone is talking about the woodturning, but I'm stuck on how he filmed himself doing that from the inside of the bowl.

The camera was probably fixed to the inside and then with editing you can "spin" the image making the picture stable. The Slo mo guys does the same in some of their shots on spinning things, making the thing that spins appear stationary while the world around it spins

@@Koelkop never Heard of that, will need to chech it out! But doesn't the camera has to have a awfull fast fps and shutterspeed for that to work? Also the light fixture has to be in sync with that camera. Those are both quite expensive.

@@Koelkop that seems like the most likely answer; but if you'll notice the tool, stand, and his hand, all shake back and forth, which wouldn't happen if he's stabilizing the shot. At least, I think so. I think it's practical.
