This is Incredible. I work with giant heavy lumber and to see such precision with tiny bits of wood that look three dimensional. Outstanding and beautiful
Thank you for adding your struggles in this project as well. So many times we only see the successes. Great job!
I trust that you are just as patient with those you love, as you have shown us that you truly love your special talent. Your patients brought tears to my eyes.

Thanks alot Bryan, i wish i could more often. Time goes by fast and then i realise how many months passed since the last project video. I really admire channels that upload every week or more, the energy and time that goes into doing this on such a base are equal to a fulltime job.
Incredibly amazing! I absolutely love it. :)
A fascinating process with stunning results. Well done!

Hey Thomas... At last a new video from you. After returning from a long day at work, I was stunned that you had put a new video online. I settled before my screen and enjoyed your craftsmanship. As always I'm astonished how easy it looks to create such a beautiful, fine and delicate object with all the tools you use. Loved the pattern you made on that ring. Amazing looking... Please keep those video of your work coming regularly. I know a lot of people are following you because of the craftsmanship and love you show for wood.... Looking forward to your next project!!!

Nice work :)
You might want to consider making it immune to rising grain when in contact with moisture so eg someone might wash their hands with it on it'll become quite bad and rough, no matter how many coats of oil, that won't help. To prevent the grain from rising just soak it in warm water for around 10 seconds, have it dry then sand it smooth, repeat this process 3 times and it's good to go :)
@TAG-1984

It is sealed with Ca glue underneath, so water won't effect the grain that fast. I rthink soaking this type of ring in water could cause the tiny segments to swell up to much. But nice tip!

Thank you! It means alot to me if i can give people some peace of mind this way. Almost as much or maybe more than people complimenting the project :). I often listen to ASMR video's to try and completely relax. Maybe that is what helped me to better understand how to use audio in my own video's.

Yes! Veery relaxing😊 I would love to wear that ring, it's beatiful but what makes it even more pretty is all that work process behind...congrats!
His voice is SO SOOTHING
You are amazing
Потрясающие вещи ты делаешь! ;)
First drill the inside hole while the wall is thick. Slip the ring onto a solid piece of wood or metal to support it. Now turn the outside circumference. Remove the inner support. Pen turners use this method all the time, so watch some pen turning videos.
Круто!
You know some sh!t buddy. Good to see an excellent craftsman so young.
very good work

I've made wooden pens and finished them with several coats CA glue - sanding between coats at 1000 grade, then finishing with 1000, 2000, 4000, 8,000 and finally 12,000 grade - the result is like highly polished glass and very tough.

Good idea Bob, Thank you!
Just saw this today; beautiful work. I also do segmented work and cut small pieces on a table saw. A tip I found on a video somewhere is to use a shop vac hose, clamped down to the edge of the saw, cover the end with a womens nylon stocking with enough slack to make a pouch inside the hose. The suction pulls the small pieces into the stocking and every few pieces you empty the pouch. I modified the idea and use a larger hose from my dust collector but it uses the same principal, just don't have to empty it as often.

What a great idea, Thank you Terry! Does it work well for you?
@terrytjaden1631

It does, although I made some modifications to the original idea. I made a small wooden box, 4" X 8", with one side open and the other side with a hole cut for the vacuum hose. Then I put a piece of hardware cloth or screening across the opening for the hose. Two small earth magnets on the bottom hold it in place on the saw. The benefit of the modification is it keeps the pieces in the box while allowing the sawdust to be sucked into the vacuum.
Nice video , and sorry it was not your size but it looks like it fits someone special so nice work. I like the Japanese saw bevel box, nice work.
Well done.
Judging by that smile on your ladies face she is well pleased Nice work

YOGA woodworking .Great!
Nice save!!

здорово !
I highly recommend investing in a metal lathe to do more accurate work and easier for ring making. Also you might want to invest in ring manderals for your lathe at minimum. You are missing a lot of useful ring making tools that will make life much much easier. But for what you got, you did a great job.

Muchos gracia Antonio!
Plus use a UV LIGHT for CA or super glue. This dries it really fast ant you dont have to sand and coat and sand and coat. Just use a thicher CA glue and a blow dryer on low to get the desired thickness. Then under light for 15 to 20 min. Done
As i said i would rather listen 2 your voice your English accent is way more relaxing 2 listen 2 than any music. I do understand why you add the music & it is your taste. If your happy that is the main thing Thank you for your time.
woooooaah de Schurk wordt vet geplugd!! op minuut 7.40 staat mijn logo in beeld! ( piepklein, in blurry achtergrond.. xD )
You should use just CA or Super glue on small projects. Makes way way stronger and waterproof too
You are an extremely creative, talented and patient man! Do you have any professional woodwork experience Thomas? I love the ring. Keep up with this fantastic projects, it gives beginners like myself a swift kick up the backside to get up and do something. Cheers, Sean

Thanks alot Sean! I made a better (newer) version of this ring, i still wish to film that :). I love that it can motivate you to get going again. I have a basic 2 year joinery degree (2007-2009), and you?
I fell asleep three times watching this video but it's OK, I didn't miss a thing because each time my head hit the keyboard it was on the spacebar so it stopped it. Great ring! Have you thought about doing meditation videos? It'd be a great idea because your voice... and the... musicccc zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz THUMP!

Thanks you Jim! Haha coming your way!
I would suggest stabilizing the wood rather than the insert. Basically you soak the wood in resin to strengthen it.
I am always amazed with the detail that you go through to make your works of art. Isn't it nice when you can correct a mistake instead of giving up on what you are making? Do you sell what you create? If so where?

Sorry, but this music does not match the vid. How about some quiet classical, or Solitudes type. Excellent woodwork brother.
Bad boy....very,very bad
I very seldom watch any video with music in them the way you have this setup. I would rather just hear you & your to0ls of choice.. I can see you are a Class A worker. I believe my choice of music would be horrible 2 over your video, but hey it is not about me it is all about your way you ch0ose 2 make your videos. I just would rather be truthful 2 you about my feelings.

Very understandable Allan, it's hard to please everyone. I add Ambient since it's one of the easiest to listen to. I do this to fill up the complete silent moments, and to cover the machinesounds. But i also enjoy silence like you do.
ппц он муторный... всё так неспешно и долго... хоть съемку то ускорь, для зрелищности...
