My mother left my step fathers ashes in a storage unit and then lost the unit. His remains were returned to the mortuary that cremated him, and she never went back for him. Some people are just sick and senseless .. most likely, cruel.

I think they didn't treat her like a victim because she was very strong willed and never acted as one. Even after he made the video and she posted it to FB as “only visible to me” because she would have been embarrassed if people saw her?! I've never seen/heard anyone do that. She said she would have felt embarrassed that someone saw her getting kidnapped of her Facebook. Meanwhile I think most of us would have been scared. She should be a cop or work in law enforcement.

There is absolutely no blame for the wife. I’d be scared he’d kill me and try to find the best time to leave his presence. Imagine calling 911 on someone, in their presence, to tell they murdered someone…. He’d kill her!!!!

What a crazy twisted story! College campuses are supposed to be safe! My daughter escaped an assault on a small campus in Vermont 30 years ago the campus police did little. She walked into the town police in Montpelier who said they had no jurisdiction on campus, I'm grateful she fought and escaped but campus police do little and poor Kaylee was attacked by somebody who was supposed to help her regardless if she drunk! My heart breaks for her family! And, about that monster, I was in shick when he talked about not hsving his inhaler!!!!!

She was not a confirmed kidnap victim up to that point. She was travelling with a killer, driving her car with him next to her, in a different state than where the murder happened and he was the only one who claimed there was a kidnap. Had she turned out to be an accomplice, you wouldn't be crying.

When he broke out into prayer in court for the family , I had to leave with them. How dare you..

no... he stole her gun and left. she collected herself after being in a state of shock and devastation and immediately went in person to the police station knowing they would ask her to come in for interviewing. no one personally experiencing a life ruining crisis will act perfectly in case of any and all possible scenarios. she already thought this was the worst he could possibly do and reacted above and beyond most would.

You can't control someone else's behavior or choices... just because your married to them or even parents. I don't know why we blame people just because they are a husband/wife or parent of a criminal.

The reason that spouses, g/f, b/f, family members, life partners & friends are initially questioned after a homicide: A majority of homicides are committed by someone who is known to the victim. Statistics consistently prove that fact. 🚔⚖️

I have to agree myshelhilty4 I have personal experience with this. Just because a person has a connection with someone i.e. dating, married or friends doesn’t make them a guilty participant in the crimes of others. What does “innocent until proven guilty” mean?

The wife had some control over him after the murder. The wife of Edwin was a cop, had training experience, and took a sworn oath to protect the public. The wife decided not to call 9-1-1 about a self-confessed murderer was on the run. The wife didn't know if the alleged victim was dead, which could have saved the victim. Instead of calling 9-1-1, the wife drove to the police station, which created lots of time for her husband to flee. This put the general public in danger. As an officer, she had the training and experience to know better. How and when she decided to disclose makes me seriously question her integrity, every arrest and citation she ever made, at a minimum. I also question to how far his wife went to concealing a crime. Considering the wife's behavior after he decided to flee while talking on the jail phone, it wouldn't shock me at all if the wife saw other warning signs and possibly conspired with Edwin on how to cover up the crime. I'm glad the wife quit law enforcement, and I would hope that she never joins law enforcement again and gets prosecuted for aiding him.

My only question is how do we know that what was said in the podcast was accurate?

Poor Andrea! Police needed to err on the side of treating her like a victim. Double trauma caused. Senseless.

For someone with strong psychopathic tendecies, this guy is actually quite conflicted about it and held the demon for some time.

The family started a book club in her honor and got a law passed. That's beautiful.

Yes, I try to find the silver linings... life is a b!tch. And I try to make sense outta chaos. That doesn't make me a goof. I guess you think that the world's messed up, people are out to get you, nothing matters, people are greedy and selfish. That about sum it up?

As much as I am a person that prefers animals to human beings…having just a handful of people I love or like.. I can’t imagine having “an urge to kill” someone. Let alone, hurt anyone. That’s just evil.

Regular people don't have that. Most psychopaths don't have that either. They could kill for a purpose, like money or whatever. Only a very small fraction of psychopaths like to murder for fun.

Bachelor and bachelorette parties are so scummy. Sad that was her boyfriends last memory. In a way.. He is the most victimized from my perspective.

I remember this case- so sad!

This crime continues to enrage me since 2016.
