I read this article online and wanted to point out the type of Mother that Kaylee Sawyer had: The bereaved mother added that she wanted to question them over their failure to report him before she saw the 'guilt in their eyes'. 'It was really hard because at the end of these depositions they all asked to come and say something to me,' she said. Julie continued: 'They would have tears in their eyes and a lot of them just kept apologizing and I could have asked them at that point: "why didn't you say something?" But when saw the hurt and guilt in their eyes... I didn't want to add to that.'

And then, after sometime went by, Sawyer’s mother’s storage unit got robbed and while in court, she got to speak to the two people that stole $30,000 worth of stuff, including her daughters ashes, from the storage unit. This is what this poor mother has had to deal with and here is what she said: “When the defendant was done, he disposed of her body not once but twice, like she was garbage,” Juli VanCleave, Sawyer’s mother, told Vierra in court. “And as you were going through my purse, you may have noticed a small green glass heart. And I am sure that you deemed it worthless and threw it away. Well to me that glass heart held everything. And now I need to come to terms with my daughter being thrown away three times.” Praying for peace for Sawyer’s mother. She has been through SO much. 😢

The wife had some control over him after the murder. The wife of Edwin was a cop, had training experience, and took a sworn oath to protect the public. The wife decided not to call 9-1-1 about a self-confessed murderer was on the run. The wife didn't know if the alleged victim was dead, which could have saved the victim. Instead of calling 9-1-1, the wife drove to the police station, which created lots of time for her husband to flee. This put the general public in danger. As an officer, she had the training and experience to know better. How and when she decided to disclose makes me seriously question her integrity, every arrest and citation she ever made, at a minimum. I also question to how far his wife went to concealing a crime. Considering the wife's behavior after he decided to flee while talking on the jail phone, it wouldn't shock me at all if the wife saw other warning signs and possibly conspired with Edwin on how to cover up the crime. I'm glad the wife quit law enforcement, and I would hope that she never joins law enforcement again and gets prosecuted for aiding him.
