    If you're having anxiety at the severity of what was being portrayed by the girl in the Dhar Mann video, then you have an anxiety disorder, not just normal, occasional periods of anxiety that EVERYBODY gets. I cringed so hard when the mother and daughter started discussing how the daughter can "beat" her anxiety--with "therapy" being one of the methods they discussed--cause as someone who's been diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, and Social Anxiety Disorder (and ADHD--but that doesn't relate AS much to anxiety as the previous disorders do) since the age of 9 (am currently 19), but has been negatively affected by each of those well before the official diagnoses, I can tell you that you simply can't "beat" chronic anxiety, but instead you merely manage it/cope with it through various treatments (medication, CBT, ERP therapy, etc.). It seems as is Dhar Mann doesn't understand the concept of persistent anxiety, lol.

  • @GirlYouDontKnow-rx3lm

    @GirlYouDontKnow-rx3lm

    Agreed! I've been diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Social Anxiety Disorder as well. I'm also on the spectrum. Therapy and medication (and as well as other strategies like exercise and meditation) have certainly helped me manage my chronic anxiety but it's not something I can just "beat". It's something I'm going to be dealing with for the rest of my life. And that's okay! We all have problems that we have to carry our entire lives. No one is perfect. Much love to you! Keep growing strong.

It was about a problem many people have and relate to, what someone who doesn't know that problem would think about it and yet how difficult it is for people who have it to talk about it. It talks about the importance of therapy and mediation (maybe not Dhar Mann mediation necessarily but still) and that while progress is made it should be made by the people's own pace and volition.

    Real anxiety is a lot less noticeable from the outside. On the inside, you’re constantly hyper-focused on how you’re perceived. So, you’re actually pretty good at pretending that everything is fine. Also, anything going on/coming up that would make most people a little nervous or excited can instead outright terrify you. The only thing most people will actually notice is that you’re pretty jittery and often isolate yourself.
