Wolff Kishner Reduction Mechanism
This organic chemistry video tutorial provides a basic introduction into the Wolff Kishner reduction mechanism which occurs under basic conditions. Heat is needed to increase the rate of the reaction facilitating the gas evolution of N2 which is the driving force for this reaction.

CLEMENSEN we convert aketone or aldehyde into an alkane using a catalyst /amalgamate zinc/using a stongly acidic conditon w KISHNER to convert a carbonyl functionel grp into a methylen grp/no catalyst /using a stg basic cond Hope u understand that 😁🌼

Clemmenson reaction doesn't work for high molecular weight compounds and acid sensitive compounds
