The fact that they kept that theme around this long....that's awesome. Easily my favorite news theme of all time. Too bad the Baltimore stations where I live never used it.

Well Mr. Kaito Kid, WPVI in Philadelphia still uses that theme, well, they had it since 1972! So you can thank Philadelphia for our theme.

WKBW, the ABC affiliate in Buffalo, NY, is owned by the E.W. Scripps Company. WKBW is the sister station to CW affiliate WPIX in New York and fellow ABC affiliate WEWS in Cleveland, OH

Jean0987654321 it was the theme for many Eyewitness News franchises across the US. Song was called “Move Closer to Your World “ and it actually has words!

WNEP uses a modified version of that theme. KXAS used this theme.

I stopped watching at 14:51, where I saw the first person I didn’t work with at Ch. 7. I can’t even guess how many of those shows I produced. Did you notice in the middle when the theme changed to that generic crap? I remember one manager (who shall remain nameless) standing in studio 2 telling us all that we were no longer Eyewitness News, that our music was no longer “Move Closer to your World” and that our colors were now all blue because “we’re not your grandfather’s TV station any more.” You can see how well that worked. Thank you Granite Broadcasting and subsequent Hedge Fund.

Debbie you're right they should have kept the theme and build on it with good stories and keep reporters and anchors in place.

in the open that started at 2:54, the voice over guys sounds like Robert Stack.

Now that you've changed the "Circle 7" logo to be more like the larger markets, it would only be fitting to change the theme music... CHL/Tar Sequence, or its 1984-94 version(aka NewsSeries2000).

I don't know the name of the female announcer on the last open, but she also does voiceovers for KGO-TV and _On the Red Carpet_, which is produced out of KABC-TV.

also the same graphics that 28 abc action news uses wfts believe it or not wfts was a fox station also wmar 2 uses the same graphics that wkbw uses and wmar 2 was nbc and cbs at one time as well

+Tom Williams When WKBW was sold to E.W. Scripps in 2014, they adopted the standardized graphics package that Scripps uses across all of their stations, along with a new "Circle 7" logo and a new set. I'm not much for standardized graphics packages, but the Scripps graphics are 100x better than what WKBW was using prior to Scripps' takeover. It was just bad.

no it was actually Well Known Bible Witness- named by Dr. Churchill original owner of WKBW when it went on the air Nov 30, 1958- and I might add that Rick Azar signed the station on the air
