With a Mind to Kill | Anthony Horowitz's SINISTER 007 Finale

Ойын-сауық

“With a Mind to Kill” is the 3rd and final bookend of a 007 trilogy by famed Author Anthony Horowitz. This book picks right up after the event of Ian Flemings original James Bond Novel “The Man with the Golden Gun”, and concludes Horowitz’ agreement with Ian Fleming Publications (IFP) as part of a 3 book deal.
His first James Bond adventure was “Trigger Mortis” with his second being “Forever and a Day”. Both of which I have sat down with friends for discussions of great detail to dig deep into their subtle and sometimes hidden undertones and tropes.
I APOLOGIZE FOR A FEW AUDIO ISSUES IN THIS VIDEO, THEY ONLY LAST FOR A FEW SECONDS BUT WERE UNAVOIDABLE DUE TO VARIOUS CONNECTION CHALLENGES. LOOKING INTO ALRERNATE PLATFORMS FOR FUTURE GROUP MEETINGS
Horowitz gives us a well rounded Cold War Psychological Thriller in “With a Mind to Kill”.
With no additional writings or influence from Fleming, and a documented case of “writers block” during its creation “With a Mind to Kill” still has plenty to offer the reader by way of rich culture, and forcing James Bond, the coolest Super Spy around, to rely on his savage instincts and years of experience with MI6 to pull off not only killing M, but also saving his soul. Does he succeed? One may never know.

I ended the novel just like you Chris, I had to look back as I was expecting another chapter to finish the story. Overall a great book, the most Fleming of the 3

Well said. It really was, and I think I’m going to re-read this one soon.

Really good video! I enjoyed hearing the different perspectives! I saw Sean Connery in my mind as I read these books. It's funny, when I think back to certain scenes in these books, I sometimes forget they weren't Fleming books, so that speaks volumes I think. I had a slight preference for Forever and a Day and Trigger Mortis, maybe because it felt a little more like classic Bond in his prime, but I enjoyed all three. I wish they would base the movies on these books! I do feel like the bridge scene was the highlight of the action in the new book, but I agree that the scenes leading up to that were especially thrilling.

Yeah the Horowitz adventures gave us something I’ve been dying for since Raymond Benson stepped away. These three were all solid Spy novels, and a great addition to the continuation library of books. Now it’s off to find a copy of Charlie Higsons “On His Majesty’s Secret Service”
