Canon Geralt was under the control of Yennefer. He was obsessed with their full-on argument and toxic relationship. Healthy people would never consider the Geralt-Yen relationship to be love. But if book Geralt understood how toxic their relationship is, he would break the spell and choose a woman who had fallen in love with him for 20+ years. Also, after he chose Triss, he clearly says that his relationship with Yen was toxic and that HE ALWAYS LOVED TRISS, NOT YEN. "wanted to be with you, before, during, after, and always." So, yes, players can choose whatever they want. But there is no such thing canon Geralt would choose Yennefer.

Unfortunately being about a certain lifestyle can bring out the worse in humanty and as much as the bloody barron was an A hole. He has good heart deep down, he genuinely cares about his wife and daughter and all his men, he even helped Ciri, even thigut she was a complete stranger and give her a horse. My first playthrough he deleted himself and i felt terrible.

I remember the devs saying that they made every decision be between options Geralt would take but then you look at some of the quests like assassinating Radovid. Lets say hypothetically he would be willing to help. The plan goes through and then he is given the choice to betray 3 loyal friends. There is no way of explaining that choice in any way that Geralt would just be okay with friends dying.

Your breakdown of the “Evil Spirit of Velen” conflict actually makes a lot of sense. I was working off the benefit of hindsight so I knew that to save the kids you had to free the spirit. But I forgot that this thing has murdered plenty of innocent people and has little to prove it’s claims that remain unconfirmed until you see the consequences yourself. I like the ending of the Baron hanging himself and Anna dying more since it feels very thematically appropriate but the sight of villagers being terrorized by monster after freeing the spirit kinda confirms it’s claims of being a Druid is horseshit.

I was always torn about the best ending for the Baron. TBH, them both dying feels... somehow appropriate, because once you take in the ENTIRE story of the Baron and his wife, they are both horrid people. Personally I am SLIGHTLY more on the Baron's side because I can't stand cheaters, but that doesn't mean I approve of beating one's wife either. I think there's only a slight redemption in their daughter Tamara, but she's taken "comfort" in the eternal fire, which... well, we all know how THEY operate. I can only hope that she wises up after seeing what they do. Now that I think of it, the only innocent person in that family is Dea (the botchling).

This is so cool! I’m on my fifth playthrough and my goal for this one was to be as close as possible to a roleplay like « what would Geralt do ». My line of conduct was directed by what I understood of him (while not knowing every detail like you!). I went as far as trying not to fast travel and ask myself what road to take, what busy area to avoid, when to stop in a village for coins or shelter, etc. It allowed my to also assess if a side quest or contract was « worth it » timewise. I found it soooooo difficult to brace against wanting to complete everything! I love your video because it shows how time is of the essence in the main quest.

I haven't watched the show but the games are damn good so I'd definitely suggest at least watching a playthrough of the story I've also heard they're a lot closer to the books which I've heard fairly positive things about so I dunno might be more worth it to look into other Witcher related media especially since they're recasting Geralt in the show.

If you like the game, or the books. You won't like the show, or vice versa, at least most likely. The only relevance at this point is literally Geralt. And they are replacing the actor, who literally pushed for this show to happen. They are completely separate things at this point. One is a badly written fan fiction for horny teenage girls or "woke" generic and biased people. The other is... well the reason it was made, and it's in itself it's own thing, and beloved for what it is, not for what it can be used for. I'm not just here trying to shut you down. I'm giving you a heads up that you will not find anything similiar outside of Geralt. Jaskier literally hooked up with medieval fantasy hitler. The Wild hunt makes no sense, and No character does what they would in the books or the game. It's very bizarre. So if you can managed to tolerate the extreme twists and changes made, good for you.

@@theninjamaster67 The first season is good, the second season shits all over the books and games. The first season is a fairly faithful adaptation of the early Witcher short stories (which were later compiled into the first book). The second season is when all the writers suddenly decided that they didn't like the books they were basing their show on and actively made decisions that I can't see as anything other than openly antagonistic against long time fans.

Love the switch to Fergus when mentioning the lack of competence😂 I never thought about Triss being in full control with the Menge scene, such a good angle. The scene with Junior is one of the most intense ones in the game for me, the exhaustion and shock and anger Geralt feels in that moment are so well portrayed. 100% agree that there is no way Geralt would let him stay alive not only for Ciri but also for the threat he poses to any woman. Completely agree that the third act is so rushed. It has some amazing scenes but I remember questioning on the first playthrough if I really did all the quests. Thescene with Sile was surprisinglyvery emotional. But I liked it. Also would agree that Geralt would go with Xiri to the lodge. Though the scene in which Geralt and Yen are spying is quite cute, I definetly think it's more natural that he offers to go with her especially with Philippa being involved. All in all great summary of Geralt's choices, really enjoyed watching it and would definetly love to see more videos like this but also get that's it requires an insane amout of work

Geralt always gives me protective Papa Bear vibes, but he never felt overprotective to me so it makes sense in my opinion that he offers Ciri to accompany her but also would be fine with her going alone. Which in general is why to me it feels like he would always want to make sure that Ciri knows as much about a situation as possible (Emhyr's true agenda, what Phillipa is actually like...) before she makes **her** own choice. He knows that Ciri went through more than what most people will experience over their lifetime so controlling her choices just becomes absurd as she clearly isn't a helpless idiot.

I'm glad someone finally talked about all the "good" choices relating to Ciri's endings, even if you didn't cover all of them. They always felt like just encouraging her bad behaviour instead of being a good parent. Geralt should have been all "No Ciri, just because you think you're an adult doesn't mean I'm going to condone vandalism (Avallach's lair), assault (punching the women who mocked Skjall), and theft (stealing the horses). Geralt, more than anyone, should know when to take the higher road, especially in front of his daughter. Methinks him and Yen are the kind of enabler parents who let their children fly off the handle because they don't want to hurt her feelings. Like no, child, I'm not encouraging literal crimes just because people are mean to you. You're gonna be a future Witcher, dealing with mean people is just part of the job, grow a thicker skin. anyway rant over, great video. Would love to see you cover the DLC or Kingdom Come Deliverance. KCD has some very strange decisions regarding moralty and I've never seen someone pick them apart.

Imo there should have been a third option at Avallach's lair where you can do something like a fistfight against her so she can let her anger out. Regarding the horse theft at least if you advance the dialogue enough Geralt finds out that the only reason they aren't selling the horses is because they are racist
