In this video I show you how to upgrade the wireless charging unit found in the arm rest of your 2015 to early 2018 Cadillac Escalade. 404 Parts has wireless charging upgrades for many GM vehicles. Ordered my Cadillac ATS CUE upgrade. Can't wait to Install it and see that Green Charging Notification Bolt ⚡️I know This Bolt Is Not Green but the Notification is ✅️
This has bothered me since we got her the Escalade. I watched the video, ordered the upgrade, followed the excellent instructions and voila! Happy wife. Admittedly, taking the inner plate off was difficult. I fully expected something to break, but nothing did and it works perfectly. Thank you!

Glad to see you are venturing out from the v sport. There's a lot more Escalade and Miata owners out there than us V Sport guys. You make great videos that more people need to find. You should really consider getting a new bronco or finding someone with one as they are going to be hot and the people buying them are the type that love doing mods.

You are right man! Thanks for appreciating the diversity. I do have a new car being intro’d this winter but I doubt it will have too much following as it’s not common but it is desired. :). Bronco would probably get a lot of attention, but like the Corvette I bet the KZread market will be saturated.

@@JetFuelOnly yes saturated but not at first. Perfect example, look at rich rebuilds. He was one of the first to tear down a Tesla and now has a huge following. Being first is so important and the bronco is a great opportunity for that. Obviously it's too late for corvettes or jeeps. Just a thought. And no I'm not getting one. My next car will be a ct6 v, which has less followers than the V sport. Look forward to seeing your new ride. Genuinely curious what you choose.

Anyone know if the larger mat fits an iPhone 13 Max?
The Video is great, but I want to know how to change the arm rest/center console because my 2017 has wrinkles and is getting old. Do you have a video on how to replace that console for my 2017 Cadillac ESV?

Sorry I don’t. I haven’t looked at it on the Escalade. But perhaps it’s similar to the CTS and you can see that in my USB upgrade video
New subscriber here I love your vids. Quick question is there a more updated version to this charger since this vid is 3 years old ? Or this is still the best option for my 2016 Escalade

This is the only upgrade. It may not ever be updated more as technology gets better. There’s always a point with cars that they just stay in the past with updates. If you want higher charging rates you will need a car with newly designed chargers.

No. You first have to have wired CarPlay and then you need to buy a wireless CarPlay dongle from Amazon
Is there an upgrade or update for cue? (2016 Escalade platinum) My cue system is starting to have glitches or freezing issues. I have to constantly reset it.

There’s no upgrade if you have 2.5. Wondering if the fan went out on your HMI? Might need to order a new one

Not sure. The SRX wasn’t made beyond that. Perhaps they didn’t care to update the system at that point.

No, I think that may be too old. But there are some really thin charging pads on amazon that you may be able to make work for you in some way.

Yup anything before mid 2018. Look at your charging pad and compare to how I showed and described in the video.

Does this upgrade charge the phone models that the factory Escalade charger doesnt? For eg it charges my Samsung Galaxy S22 but doesn't charge my wife's Motorola edge 5G UW? Anyone know?

Sorry I don’t know the answer to that. If you have the old charger that is usually why newer ones don’t. The new charger is Qi protocol.

I’m assuming you tried without a case in different positions? Shouldn’t be hard to make it charge. What about with the unit out of the arm rest but plugged in, phone right on the charger?

@@JetFuelOnly Yes, no case. It wouldn’t even make contact with the case on (OuterBox Defender). Haven’t tried unscrewed, might give that a go tomorrow.

No, the charger only upgrades charging. You want wireless Carplay you need a wireless carplay dongle. Check out this one: amzn.to/3Ukwgie
