I have an 05 silverado with center console, I work for a GMC dealership. I have a gen2 wireless charging module that we offer as a $99 upgrade from the old gen1 charger (gen 1's only wirelessly charge up to the iphone 8+ if I'm not mistaken, anything after that, you have to pay the $99 plus install from the dealer to get newer gen iPhone charging) that a customer didn't want in their vehicle any longer because he felt having his phone charging all the time was bad on his phones battery. Soooo, I was going to modify my center console and hotwire it in somewhere (it has been sitting in the box for the last year or two still uninstalled in my truck... and then tonight I randomly ran across this video after looking for a better after market headlight than what I have now for my truck. Before I even finished watching your video, I clicked the link posted and ordered this instead of new headlights tonight. THANKS lmao. I should also note that I have a wireless apple play Pioneer double din, because I HATE wires cluttering up my interior with wires, so this is an instant benefit for me. Worth the like and the sub!

Pretty fly for a WiFi get outta here dude. Matt spends hours shooting these videos and editing them. He only talks about products he would stand behind if he was selling out he’d be peddling anything and everything every video. His videos don’t even have cut ins where he talks about sponsors. For free content you can’t complain- just skip the video if you aren’t into the product.

I'd pay it if they offered one for my vehicle. $135 for a totally stock looking wireless pad and no wires would be 100% worth it for me. I'd like to get an older Tahoe/Suburban for my next vehicle which I why I watched this. I would prefer to avoid the DI motors if possible.

Off topic but in my 05 Silverado I have the same radio as you and I bought a USB port that I retrofitted into the old cigarette lighter on the left of the center console. It fit perfectly in the same spot as the old port and I hot glued it in the back to hold it. It looks completely stock which I love. I left the one on the right but have been toying with the idea of making it into a AC outlet.

I have it in my 2008 tahoe and I love it. I did add a reset button to it because it will lock up if something metal contacts the pad. It was easy used a normally closed momentary switch and that allows me to reset on the fly.

I just installed a 2003 to 2006 Console into my 2001 Yukon XL today, so I might be picking this up. It was honesty really easy. I still need to drill a couple holes for it to mount to the floor secure, but how it's installed currently its not going anywhere. I also did not realize the bose system trucks have a 6 inch subwoofer at the bottom front of the console. It was half off at pick n pull, so I got the entire console brackets and all for 11$. Quick little cleaning and it looks new. My interior is a two tone as well now.

Obviously you have some vehicle tech experience, quick, clear and to the point including the magic drill. I will be looking at you other videos to see what you have been doing. Retired, but ASE Master Tech since 1978. I have researched “QI” phone chargers as this is mutual induction like a transformer as long as the phone has capabilities. They make good and poor or thick cases for non-QI phones. It comes down to how the plug into the phone. Some are easy, but block and outside connection at the phone and some good ones are very reasonable for older phones. A newer “QC3.0” USB charger is cheap and available for Quick Charge that it can tell. I have two different ones on my garage to charge my phone. My interest is lead by research to create a custom console for a 1967 C10 PU with an 03 year Tahoe 5.3L engine swap and sewing my inside, wiring, bodywork and painting to the specs in my mind, as my first vehicle at 13 (Farm Boy) school & farm work, I bought a 65 C10 Apache I drove for years. Hey, how many techs get halfway thru their classic, get married, kids and drive it to work in 5 different colors until they need a minivan. A dream dies just a little. I should know, I bought a car from a customer and gave my youngest brother as nice, no rust, no dent 68 Dodge Charger. Never heard from him since 1977. Nice subject, good content! Liked & subscribed!

Escalades have a different console lid. They are covered in leather, and center doesn't have that sunken portion like yours has. That Tahoe lid may be a direct bolt on for Escalades, which would make the wireless pad possible.

It is a pretty cool upgrade...... BUT. I have my phone in an otter protective case..... so it wouldn't charge on a wireless pad. Next thing, I have the wire, as you described to plug the head unit directly into my phone, which I prefer over blue tooth connection as my unit, to use Android Auto needs to be connected anyways. As you said though, that is an absolute perfect place for that pad. Just seems a little pricey as well as redundant for my purpose. Im speaking about my Silverado... now my Suburban is still using the stock deck. I use the Suburban so little that I havent quite been able to justify putting in a new head unit. Great job on your videos.

I hope this will work with my Trailblazer when I swap out my center console. hoping I can do something similar or put a similar center console to a Tahoe. like how it has a coin thing built in.

I've had mine about a year now it still works but right out the box it has some difficulty charging sometimes. Hath to keep lifting and placing it down to charge. Check back with me to see how it's doing I might do a video on it

I’ll do side stuff from time to time, but primarily just my own cars. I just don’t have time for anything else right now!
