Wipeout Omega Collection: Subway A+ challenge with AG-SYSTEMS prototype

So I decided to do another A+ challenge with a prototype like I did with the pir-hana that isn't the FEISAR prototype, so instead I chose the AG-SYSTEMS prototype.
For those not in the know this is the only agility prototype ship in the game with very unique attributes: extended side-shifts, double barrel rolls (meaning double the boost) and being able to spin in standard racing to fire backwards. Couple with this with the very high handling and you have a ship that is quite enjoyable to pilot.
However the prototype has some serious problems, its incredibly slow which makes it tough to keep up with the speed ships. The shield rating on the stats screen is also a red herring, this ship has incredibly weak shields (weaker than the icaras in HD/Fury as a single plasma will deal 70-80% damage) and the double barrel roll requires more altitude to complete making boosts inconsistent. All this outweighs the strengths of this ship and thus makes it probably the worst ship to use in 2048, as its easily eliminated in combat and not fast enough to be competitive with speed ships.
Nevertheless I adore this ship's handling and how it looks, its my favourite agility ship and so the weaknesses will not stop me from trying to win any races both online and offline with it. This was a very brutal challenge to use this ship on my favourite track (being subway) and in fact the run you're watching was my 4th try. But great fun nevertheless!

    I think the only two things that I have noticed about the AG Systems Prototype that aren't already in the description are pretty interesting to me - barrel rolls cost the same as usual, in contrast to the nature of this thing having either lower health or lower defenses which make it take more damage from contact or weapons. And on top of that, it heals a lot more than other ships, perhaps to counteract just how fragile it is. (To me, this is the best explanation as to why it has a greater health stat than the original AG Systems Agility.) In my exeprience, on a course where you can actually take advantage of the double barrel roll in a reasonable capacity, this is integral to know as the ship makes me rather absorb-heavy in play style but almost always guarantees I'll be ready to barrel roll at any time. Certainly, this ship is the very embodiment of AG Systems and their own inconsistency...

    It's likely they had to sacrifice shielding and basic safety systems to make way for more agility. What this ship is trying to be is a bit confusing, whether it's a daredevil (with the double-barrel roll, but is actually a 360-degree barrel roll that takes more airtime to pull off), a fighter jet with extremely violent G-forces that no other pilot can handle (which can explain the extremely sharp handling and extended sideshifts, which may explain that a lot of test pilots were required to perfect this craft), or a dangerous ship intending to damage and potentially eliminate others in normal races (due to the combat spinning ability), but can't fire the Quake backwards, otherwise it would be an unstoppable killing machine.

    It feels like shields start at 50% instead of 100% so they scale accordingly EXCEPT on barrel rolls. I enjoyed using this ship on zone mode because the shield regen per clean zone is 2x as much as any other ship. Combined with the agility perks, low top speed and that barrel rolls are not needed on zone, I wonder why few people used it.

    @miguelmoreno6990 Half health, double damage, lower total health value... It's all semantics, really, though obviously you can't heal _back_ up to 100% (relative to the original AG-SYS Agility) because by the game's calculations, you are already there.

    I love the ag systems prototype. Its my ship of choice for zone levels. I recently reached mach x in Sol with this ship.

    Been watching a lot of your Wipeout videos mate, you are a very skilled pilot man, I'd love to have a race with you sometime man if you want? I am also on WZ too and my gamertag on PS & WZ is IXxNOCTURNALxXI buddy👍just saving for a ps4 you see and man wipeout looks mint on ps4 but even when we was all on HD/FURY on the ps3 it still looked mint lol, anyway man love the videos mate, you are a quality player buddy, all the best man :)

    Nice :] Those a.i move like flies. Also the tracks in 2048 just seem fun. Doesn't seem to be a bad one amongst them

    Agreed I much prefer 2048's tracks than the HD/Fury ones, the only track I dislike in 2048 is downtown as I honestly find it rather boring IMO. Subway is my favourite of the bunch ;)

    I just tried them. There's a sense of uncontrollable but manageable speed. Likeike it was in 2097/XL. Like when you reached a corner, at the peak of a climb, too fast and went over (Gare D'Europa) but still had ability to handle it. That feeling is unique to Wipeout and it's nice to have that back. The PSP games didn't do that. Omega Collection redeems itself with 2048 :]

    Interesting, I honestly think that sol zone is the easiest track to get ridiculously high scores on (some people are pushing towards 300 zones as I speak). How is it annoying to you as I'm genuinely curious?

    The soundtrack is too dumb-down part of Wipeout is the trippy ass music that puts you in the state of mind to get lost in the game

    You can't even fire the quake backwards in normal races when you flip it 180 degrees.

    Which is a double-edged sword in its own right. If you could it would significantly increase this ships tactical value in single races by making it easier to maintain a lead (provided someone is skilled enough to gain 1st place against speed ships anyway). But on the other hand this would make the prototype significantly unbalanced (not that the ships in 2048 are balanced in the first place) and slightly overpowered as you'd only have to spam quakes backwards to ruins everyone else's race. I think it's fine to not fire quakes backwards in races as it would be severely unfair and destroy any fun playing 2048.

    This would've been an absolute nightmare (or even a night terror) if they manage to bring this back 149 years later in the FX300 league.

    @@greencatdude866 In fact, I did a video on my channel where an AG Systems ship literally eliminated everyone in Citta Nuova in Pure. Teams like Triakis and Goteki 45 were victims of Quake eliminations.

    It's sad that with a little more thought this ship could've been much more playable
