Winter Wind : Relaxing Nature Sounds for Sleep - 8 Hours Long

Музыка

This relaxing sound of strong howling wind in winter can mask background noise as well as put the listener in the mood for sleep or relaxing. Shot over a period of months during the winter of 2014. Barren winter trees will be seen as well as snow covered trees. The sound of wind is heard throughout this eight hour long recording. Presented by www.virtualdreamer.com, purveyors of unique sounds for relaxation, tinnitus masking and sleep. FYI, I call this Pure Wind on my website.

When I was 7 my sister who was 8 went to live with our dad. The wind would howl every night and I remember him coming into our room and putting coats over us (we were very poor) and gently kissing us on the forehead. They were the best years of my life and I listen to your beautiful sounds and I can almost feel his kisses. Thank you.

This would be the third year in a row that I would be missing the fall and winter seasons as I am currently living in a tropical region. Perfect 80 degree weather is nice, but I miss the changing seasons, and this video brings me back to my favorite seasons. Thank you!

I am from a highland region in Western Persia. I enjoy Winter wind so much I take off my hood to let the wind howl through my hair. For me, this is the best joy in life after watching rural people harvesting garlic down the valley in Spring.

After surviving a serious bout of scarlet fever (continuous fever of over 102)when I was 12 (I am now 70), my parents were driven crazy as I would open the window above my bedstead, and while I was thoroughly wrapped up to my cheeks in heavy blankets and bedding, I let snow fall on my face. This sound you have uploaded was the same sound, and I believe I survived my very high temperature thanks to this wind and snow. Some would say, not so, but I am sure. I know that every time my folks closed the window and locked it, I managed to opened it again. I remember the very soothing wind and snow cooling my brow. Thank you for this masterfully done recording (audio recording wind is very tricky.). I am downloading this memory and saving it as an mp3 file on a CDr which should get me most of the 8 hours. I still sleep with the window open, and this sound will make the whole event complete.

@@caralama08 I still must sleep below a window opened enough to feel the fresh cool, sometimes cold, air in my face. What a resistance I encountered a couple of years ago in the hospital when I demanded the window be opened at least six inches. But thanks to my wife and staunch resisting son, I got my way. It has kept me pretty healthy.

Always loved winter. I want a cabin that sits right at the edge the forest. Looking out across a grassy meadow that when the wind blows the grass looks like waves on an ocean. The cabin having a big window overlooking the open meadow to watch the storms roll in a nice fireplace to lay in front of on the couch. A mountain to the right of the cabin that the low lying clouds curl around slowly.

When I listen to this I can remember my little house off in Alaska from my childhood. I'd walk out onto my deck and watch the heavy cloud banks roll over the pine trees strewn across the tops of the nearby foothills. It was so cold that my breath immediately froze, turning to fog before my very eyes. I can still picture the way the snow sparkled as the morning light first hit it. Surrounded by countless trees, all holding up the weight of the snow until the burden became too much to bear. Then with a large shuffle a huge clump of snow would roll off of the weary branches. At nights our family would gather around the warm fire, listening to the wind howl outside. Much like this, the night was so full of noise. The nearby owls would hoot occasionally, or if you listened closely you might even here the distant howl of a wolf. But after my mother passed thing's weren't the same for my dad, so we left. Now twenty years later I still haven't moved back, but more than once the thought has passed my mind.

Depression matches up with winter perfectly. What's going on outside is exactly what's going on inside of you. Cold, dark, lifeless, empty, loneliness, a whole lot of nothingness. Having something to identify with makes depression a bit easier to bear.

Andrew Simpson I know this is like a message in a bottle... You might never see this, but I want to try. I suffered all those things... I was agoraphobic for over 25 years. Then I found the books of Dr. Claire Weekes...and it was like a miracle. Those books saved me...that was over 35 years ago...sometimes I think back and think, was I really like that? That's what her books did for me. I can't even believe I was like that now, when I look back. You can get over this. I know it feels otherwise, but you can. I'm living proof of that. Look up her books. Please. Hang in there...you are tougher than you think.

I have always loved having some sort of white-noise or ambient sounds to go to sleep to since I was a child. At the age of 47, I remember when tv stations would end their day of broadcasting with the National Anthem - followed by scrambling their signals into "snow". I always went to sleep better with that. The low whir of a fan was always magically responsible for ushering the Sandman to my bed as well. Wind, rain, the sound of the ocean, smooth jazz, elevator music (orchestrated versions of old pop hits), and for some strange reason that I've since stopped trying to figure out - El Condor Pasa! ... Then I would wake in the morning to my mother singing "Good morning to you. Good morning to you. We're all in our places with bright smiling faces. And this is the way we start a new day". True story... Nighty-Nite folks!

Of course you cannot sleep in the hospital, it is just not allowed ;) They did have the internet so I pulled up your winter wind video and put on earphones to help drown out all the noise...the earphones were cheap but it did help...one of the nurses asked me about what I was doing and I told her about the genius of sound, i.e. Brad McBride...she loved the idea and took down your name and your channel. I wish hospitals would start doing that...I think this nurse was just kind and wanted to help anyone she cared for as a recommendation if they could not sleep because I do not do sleeping pills...unfortunately, if they are now cutting back by not using heart monitors for at risk patients (other than heart patients), I know they would not purchase sleep sounds but rather give someone an unhealthy pill like Ambien :( But you have helped so many of us, I guess that will have to be your reward LOL...thanks again!

As I write this, we are having the warmest winter on record in NC (2015-2016)(p.s. Happy New Year! -1/1/16). I love watching all the seasons except summer. We could skip it for all I care. The wind reminds me of winters in North Dakota, Montana, Nebraska, South Dakota, etc. It gives me the chills and helps me sleep really good. Thanks! Sorry that you had to brave the cold to get this sound but it's much appreciated! Reminds me of "the great white north" !

Graeme Stone I agree with most of what you said except two things. First, the identity of Shakespeare is NOT in doubt. The vast majority of scholars agree who he was and what he did. I myself studied him in Stratford, read his families documents and manuscripts signed by him. I lean strongly toward the idea that the minority who tries to call his identity into question are motivated by classism. It would be much more romantic and proper if the Earl of Oxford wrote Hamlet for instance, instead of a regular schmuck with only a Bible and a few other classical books of antiquity as his reference. Secondly, "wrong is a relative concept" is completely false and is, overall, a harm to society. That all being said, your points about words and your gracious forgiving of Mr. McBride's typo are spot on.

Hi Brad! It's been awhile since I've been searching for any new sleep sounds! That just means that I am so happy with A Dark and Stormy Night that I haven't really needed to look for anything... but I'm glad I did tonight - just for the fun of it, really. I like this one very much! I am a winter kind of girl - I love cold weather, snow and dark, overcast skies. I think I would be happy if the sun never came out at all! I even prefer night time to day. Yeah - everyone I know thinks I'm weird! I like to think that I am just unique and eclectic, and march to the beat of my own drummer! My 22 year old daughter is exactly the same way, too! I'm not sure if it's genetic or if it just rubbed off on her! I home schooled her and I didn't work or anything during that time period, so we were together almost 24-7.... it just stands to reason that she would pick up my strange personality traits! On the positive side, though, she has the IQ of a genius, she is a published author already, and she has mad cooking skills, drawing, photography skills, gardening skills and she taught herself how to sew and do a lot of different creative art forms that she thought up on her own. I have no clue where all that came from. I have musical talent, and I love to sing, but other than that, my only great skills are taking care of animals and writing poetry. The irony here is that my daughter (or my husband) can't carry a tune in a bucket, so I'm the only one in the family who has this talent! I got that from my mother and my brother. Anyway, I was checking out some of your sleep sounds, and this is my favorite so far (not including Dark and Stormy Night - I doubt I will ever find one that I like better than it) - so I will be adding lots of them to my play list! I hope you are doing well - It's been a hard year for me and my family, but I am doing OK. I had a heart attack last month, but after getting 2 stents put in, I'm good as new now. I had a lot of death in my family and also a lot of sickness, but I am doing as well as to be expected. Thank you for putting all of the sleep sounds on KZread for everyone to enjoy! I will talk to you later! God bless! Beverly

Wow, I never realized how much I miss the NY seasons and winter sounds, the sound of the snow truck driving by plowing the road and the chains clanking on the road. Or the rain and wind howling outside of our house as the power goes out. I never got scared as a kid but excited like someone was coming to visit. Sleepy Hollow was just over the Hudson River and I loved knowing that no less Hessian Lake where so many Hessian soldiers were put to rest after their death was eerily neat as well. Thank you Brad for these channels/videos. I'm a subscriber now.

Brad McBride Yes..you're wrong, but it's impossible to know everything. I wouldn't have to be listening a videos of rain, wind, thunder, lightning, and snow if things were different. Salt Lake City is down in a valley-like the bottom of a soup bowl. Utah, for the most part, is a desert. If there's ever any rain, it doesn't last long, and never a real gusher. If it snows, it's light and soon melts. I hope they'll be some good snow storms this winter, but they get more and more disappointing every year. Good winds are rare, and like any other weather..soon ends. Once you get up and out of the valley, there's more weather action going on.
