So how many cars have you pulled out of the ditch? a wheel is one of the strongest places you can hook to on a car, there is a world of difference between a steady pull with a winch or someone with a jerk strap yanking on it

@@adamt4742 My brother got his jeep grand Cherokee stuck in a ditch and tried to "steadily" pull it out with a winch by the back Axel (the one with out cv's) and now his Axel is bent, and if he drives it the tread on the tire gets eaten away. It's 800$ for a back Axel from my local junkyard. So no I wouldn't hook a winch up to any car tire on the front or the back especially when there are hooks on the front of most cars under the bumper and I bet you didn't see the part of the video where they were pulling the car at an angle from the front tire. Hence why I said I would rather wait out the winter than have a dumbass cost me more in repairs than it would take to have my own 4x4 pickup truck with chains drive back out there and do it the right way.

USA has no winter driving teaching or lessons in school. People will drive 60+ and obey the road signs speed limit on bald or all season tires. People will crash in the snow and then say "but the sign said you have to go 55". They have no concept that in hazardous weather, you halve the speed limit.

They have very specific procedures that are actually backed up by tons of research, studies and science. Also the past two winters have been rather snowy and cold. Couple that with extended periods of flooding along the rivers (most salt enters the state on barges) this has created a salt shortage. Sand is really not an option and is only used when temperatures become so cold salt is rendered ineffective.
