Likewise!!! Glamping is fun! Hahaha. We have a new vid dropping in a few weeks where we took the skinny guy and our buddy Nate in his Tiguan up to Mt Shasta and temps got to -10 which is really rare over here and it was a balmy 70 degrees inside the SGC! Love it

Nice to see full sized truck out doing what they do. I hope skinny guy campers will make an insulated fly that goes down over the rain gutters in the roof system to stretch out the useful season. Definitely have to be creative with storage options for gear as well

Yeah the storage is tricky with a skinny guy but I think we have it dialed in now. Also haven’t had an issue with getting wet inside the skinny guy yet and we’ve had it in some nasty weather. We might have been lucky too.

@@RogueElement I do some -40 camping out ice fishing. My ice shack has a wood stove, but it would be nice to have a warm place to camp on the truck even if I wouldn’t have the water functioning

@@thewoodmansk5510 this Truma heater cranks! So far the lowest we’ve had it is -10 degrees and I think the owner of SGC has had it around -15 but -40 is hardcore for a soft sided tent

As a plan b for heat you should keep a cheap diesel heater briefcase for back up. Bonus is it will keep condensation from forming inside the tent vs propane

We just bought a couple of them a few days ago. Universally they work much better we’ve seen.

Great video! So overall how do you like your Skinny Guy setup? What is the dry weight? I am thinking of getting one for my F-150. Hopefully the heater issue was a fluke. Thanks for posting. 👍🙂

Dry weight is around a thousand pounds on this one I think. It’s their prototype and I know their new ones are lighter. I’m digging it so far and really the only issue is that I don’t have shit for cargo space with this model. The newer ones you can fit a decked drawer system below them. Heater was user error…I have it dialed now!

We try to weekly but it’s been an absolute crazy year because of divergent pathways. In 2023 we are adding a new series called “The Basement” that will be gear reviews, how-to’s and more but these vlog styles will be moving more to a cinematic formula with a camera guy following us instead of self filmed stuff and hopefully one every two weeks or every week

I felt cold watching this one…..but wow. That skinny guy camper is pretty badass. Only sleeps 2 people right?

@@RogueElement Roger. Roger. I've gone from RTT, to teardrop, and now wall tent with tent stove. I'm too old and fat to get dressed lying down anymore. I want a camper I can fit in my pocket and expands to the size of a house with the push of a button.
