It's a 13 step plan you know ;) Of course Two Toes found gold anyway. I told you it was more than luck, that he is a natural dowser!! He can sense the stuff!!! Great day, great hunt!!!

To dig high or to dig low? That is the question. When on the Yuba, the advice is always the same. Go high young man. Go high. That crystal clear blue sky was looking fantastic. I’m really looking forward to the videos you will be shooting in that area during summer (and hope to make an appearance in some of them too). Congratulations to Robert for beating the skunk. Ice cream is good even on a cold day. As usual, Gary may have found the biggest piece and the most gold (he can be so tiresome and unoriginal that way). However, your first gold find makes you the undisputed winner again.

I love how Gary has a small pan and just grabs a few handfuls of material and gets a loaded pan. I can't wait to get back up North. Prospecting is the only time where I've been out in nature for 12 hours and can't believe its already time to go home.... daylight never last long enough. As a surfer from NC that transplanted to North Shore Hawaii, I would have never in a 1000 years thought I would be so in to prospecting. Currently in SoCal prospecting KZread until I can get back to the ML. Keep living the dream with Ice Cream.

look for signs most claims on the Yuba are marked. Join a Club or get a claim of your own

Almost the entire North Yuba is claimed or private property. If you want to mine on the North Yuba join one of the clubs that have claims like the Comstock Gold Prospectors or the Valley Prospectors. You can also join us at the 2023 North Yuba Nugget Hunt on July 29th when we will have a three claim stretch of the river’ open for panning
