Wings Of Glory Unboxing: Hurricane & Stuka
Ойындар
We're back for some more Wings of Glory action with the Hawker Hurricane Mk. 1 and the Junkers Ju.87 B-2 squadron packs from Ares Games.
The Hawker Hurricane is hailed as the hero of the Battle of Britain, accounting for 60% of the RAF air victories. The RAF also had a number of foreign nationals fighting alongside them including the 303 Polish Squadron who achieved the highest ratio of enemy aircraft destroyed.
The Junkers Ju 87, aka Stuka, had seen combat in the Spanish Civil War and was famous for it's "Jericho Trumpet" which created their signature screaming wails as they dive bombed.
Which planes should John get next?

The Stukas had actual sirens mounted for the wail. These were powered by small propellers, and generated the wailing sound in diving. Do some history!
No the ju87 had little propellers attached to the landing gears which made the siren, however this was used only on the early variants such as b-2 later on, they removed them.
How come no visual on the airplanes? UNBOXING? What gives?
Great game great rules and nice planes
the stukas siren was mounted on the landing gear, driven by a small propeller. early versions didnt have an on off switch so if the plane was moving the siren was wailing. needless to say this was unpopular with pilots and aircrew. stukas were used to the end of the war in an anti tank and ground attack role on the eastern front. hans rudel. the sharksmouth decal is kind of a bitch to put on. you either have to cut it a bit to get it to lay flat when it wraps around the front or do like i did. using some solvaset i stuck the middle of the decal down and after it was holding kept brushing solvaset on it until it "melted" around the radiator. i just "flew" a spit at origns game fair. it was a delight. however since it was an intercept mission against he111s escorted by me110s its maneuverability was rather wasted. still was fun though.
The Junkers had twin 7.92mm mgs. The Hurricane had (8) 7.7mm mgs and that eventually went that went up to (12) 7.7mm mgs. Ju vs Mk.1 isn't a fair fight.
With the Stuka paint round the edges and REMOVE THE DROP TANKS! They are a hangover from the old Nexus Italian version. On the Hurricane remove the bombs as no MkI`s carried them and you can always stick them on the Stuka instead of the drop tanks.
Maybe some battle? :D
C'mon John. You know you want to play the Brits.
Do they still make these
Your looking for this... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Junkers_Ju_87#Ju_87G Kanonenvogel (cannon bird)
so just for a quick FYI (not saying that what they did was okay) Germany started bombing civilians because the British were already bombing their civilians to try to get them to pull off of their air fields, which is a good tactical move but people don't normally know this and give Germany hell for it when it was the British who started civilian bombing first, and if they didn't do so they probably would of lost because their aircraft wouldn't be able to take off
Hans Rudel. 500+ tanks destroyed and a Russian battleship.
FFS how about you focus on showing the models and contents of the box than show that you ve read wikipedia.?!
Huh. A WWII tactical air combat game with two guys(?) that obviously know very little about the subject matter. Wings of War/Glory is a fantastic game. Take the basic rules, add dice, slap a Star Wars license on it and....blammo! There's X-wing miniatures game. Copy that.
