I signed up for the Windows 7 House Party back in the day! Used 9 of my alternate email addresses as "guests" (since they required you provide email addresses for every guest, and you needed at least 10 people to qualify for it.) Still use the one remaining intact reusable shopping bag (calling it a "tote bag" is a bit of a stretch) and deck of cards. The decorations are long gone (I probably should have saved them,) but my cheap cardboard clapboard contained Win7 Ultimate copy is still the copy that is the "upgrade source" for my current Win10 install. That is frickin' awesome that you still have/found a (somewhat) complete boxed copy of it!

Thats not a good decision because there are so many people using windows 7 that means that hackers could just hack someone and and the windows dev are not gonna patch it that hackers could hack someone

Windows 7 will always be one of my favorite OSes to use. Never once had a problem with it and I loved using the Classic Windows theme it had. Too bad Microsoft got rid of it.

Remember pre-ordering Windows 7, it was a mighty fine upgrade and served me reliably for many years, good times! Definitely up there as one of the best releases of Windows.

I just updated to 10 yesterday, used 7 since 2009. Greatest OS I've ever used.

My company are working through installing windows 10 because they still using Windows 7. Yes I am enjoying Linode and thanks for the code. Seems to run faster and the docs are very detailed and helpful.

It helped go through many tech stuff R.I.P windows 7 you will always be my favorite

We reached a point in time where we can't believe that we lived such an admirable decade with Windows 7 💕.

Hey, I'm in the video, yay! I should've probably made it better, but I made it just before heading to work, so I didn't have that much time on my hands. Thank you Ken and the Computer Clan for making such awesome content. And, since I should say anything good about Windows 7, it was a great OS that will be missed, and that we should look into whenever we talk about computers.

I still have my WIndows 7 Party box, no one showed up, so I just kept everything in the box.

i have a huge amount of nostalgia for windows 7, as while i used xp for the longest time, it still saw 7 a lot on youtube and on the computers at school, and I was always so jealous amazing os, just wish it didn't have to go so soon

OMG this just came up on my timeline. I HAD one of those parties and I still have my box of goodies. I never used the napkins or the playing cards but I did have a full on party with a marquee and a computer for people to try it out. It was a brilliant day and I remember it well. I am in the UK. I loved Windows 7. The best iteration of Windows ever. Thanks for taking me back to a great memory. 👍

I'ts so sad,that people who loved the Windows 7 have to leave. At least this was a tribute to me and others who loved Windows 7. I'ts the same story as Windows XP left the world. So R.I.P Windows 7 22.10.2009-14.01.2020. It will stay on our memories!

I remember windows 7 I was using it when I was like 6 it was on my moms laptop which was an Packard bell with an intel atom n270 it was running windows 7 starter and was slow I was downloading cracked games on it and had so much viruses and the games runed at like 4 fps lol Windows 7 was my first os and I will never forget it

Vynncent Murphy 2015 MacBook Pro does also support it. Found out a few days ago when installing Windows as a secondary OS.

I remember beta testing this OS in secondary school, ended up being the last ever build of windows I’d ever use on my personal machines before pairing my iMac with a MacBook Pro in late 2009 and cementing my switch to Leopard and Snow Leopard. I never thought that after 10 major releases of Mac OS X, 4 years of secondary school and sixth form, a gap year, 4 years at university and a year of job hunting, I’d finally end up using the same system for work that I beta tested when I was 14. Most of my colleagues are still using it, I’ve only recently been migrated to 10. But hey, that’s the enterprise for ya.

18:49 I always had this frustrating issue installing Windows 7 updates in the last couple of years. You literally have to install some, reboot, install some more, reboot again and this process takes ages as there's like 300 updates for Windows 7 since it launched. Fun times!

I remember my Acer Laptop running Windows 7, and I got that for Christmas in 2012. As someone that likes the themes, I would just sometimes change it to something else a lot (I seem to like doing that). I also still remember the Windows 95 logo Wallpaper that had the background of 7 I use to used (heck, I might even go back to it). Aw god, Windows Movie maker. That was my first video editor I ever used and I'd stayed with it for a long long time (2013 - 2017/2018). And I remember playing the Built-in games on Win 7 too. As a matter of fact, Windows 7 was the OS that got me into computers a lot more.

You must not have been meme-ing hard enough, could have marathon'd the Mac Vs PC Commercials, had a digital picture frame set up to cycle through Vista memes, play some Andrew WK in the background, the Windows Error Remix, there are so many ways to have a great Windows themed party... I find the idea of a launch party to be hilarious and convenient, having 10 people to troubleshoot together would ensure the highest rate of success. Vista was still a joke, so having a Lan party to celebrate the end would be fun in that regard. I'm kind of disappointed they did not do it for Windows 10. Although having W10 be a "free upgrade" doesn't exactly create the extra revenue to send out free party kits to people, then of course upgrading from 7 to 10, it just kind of upgraded when it was good and ready.

I bought a laptop in August with Windows 7 just so I can have an actual piece of hardware with Windows 7. I knew it would go out of support a month ago, but now I just use it with the Internet disconnected so I can remain safe. R.I.P. Windows 7, you were the second best (I still have to give the gold metal to Windows XP).

I am 13 years old and have a Windows 7 VM because i enjoyed Purple Place so much in the old Laptop of my Grandma

i remember i used to keep rebooting my dads windows 7 laptop just to see to cool boot up. i also remember making works of art in paint.

The original version of Windows 7 ended on Apr 9, 2013 and must be updated to Windows 7 with Service Pack 1.

I know Windows 7 so well. spent so much time trying to fix it when it went wrong

Rest in peace, Windows 6.1.7600 and 6.1.7601 2009-2020 You will be missed for damn sure.

Also, to be clear, the party box did *NOT* include Windows 7 Home anything in a normal retail package. It included a thin cardboard folder containing "Windows 7 Ultimate Signature Edition" - (search for that and you'll find pictures.)

@@ComputerClan It's not a box. It's super thin, just basically a piece of cardboard folded over, pee-chee style. The other silly thing - it came with both 32-bit and 64-bit discs, but only the 32-bit disc was inside the folio/holder. The cake has the top written "RIP Windows 7 2009-2019" instead of "RIP Windows 7 2009-2020".
