I miss a few details the first time I tried, had to restart, still messed up, but it was better the second time. I did this outside and the wind was not on my side. The second window was a back window and was able to be removed and taken inside. Turned out much better than the first two times, but I didn’t get out as much dirt as I should have an there’s tiny bubbles around the edge. All in all, I learned a lot and I’m confident that the next three windows will look much better. I’m doing my driver’s side last in hopes that will look the best.
Forgot the last, very important step... After the installation, you must leave your windows up for a few days (depending on climate) for the film to cure and dry onto the glass. If you lower the window shortly after the tint was placed, you can make it move out of position and very possibly mess the film up. And for those you may not understand, the reason for the soapy water is to provide a slick surface so the film can be properly positioned and no stick the a unwanted dry spot.

Absolutely phenomenal tutorial. Seriously one of the best I’ve watched of any kind. I tried doing this a couple years ago and it was a borderline disaster. Super frustrating and didn’t turn out very well. After watching this video I just tried again today and it seriously looks near professional. Took me about 15 minutes start to finish. Thank you so much! The only thing I would add is that when you’re trying to separate the layers of film, it helps to grind your front teeth a bit when biting the corner. Seems to help separate the film from the backing.

KZread has two sorts of DIY: the ones that you can actually get decent results, and the other ones. Of course, tinting windows and making bread at home are of the second kind. I mean, after you've tried several times you may get it right, just not exactly from the first try. While I don't mind throwing away a bad dought, it's a bit different with wrinkles on a window tint. I have to say, I did both myself (the tint and the bread thing). I did watch KZread videos and read on forums. Here's the thing, almost every DIY video out there is missing the kind of detail that only experience can teach you. Without it, if you are really handy, you may still get ok results, but it's not going to be perfect. The issues I had were with cutting the film really close along the window frame and also with film sticking too soon on the glass: you really need to use plenty of liquid, if a small area doesn't get plenty of fluid, the film will stick at that place too soon, before you had time to position it correctly, and it will leave a mark. See, there's no video out there saying this, and it's just one of the things that can go wrong. Finally, don't even try to do the rear windshield.

My drivers side window tint has started peeling away and this video was just what I needed to replace it myself. I paid £60 about two years ago and got the front and back windows tinted including the rear windscreen. Only other advise I remember the guy telling me was to allow for 2-3 days for the tint to set. So no opening windows for a couple days. If anyone’s thinking of doing this get extra tint just in case you might need a few tries to get it right.

I think this is the minimum you need to do to get descent results. Sure you could just slap the film on on the inside without cleaning it, and it will look like dogshit. Then you will come back and watch his video after wasting your whole day and a roll of tint
Holy shit was that complicated. That was 400 steps at least If I could remember a third of those I'd be a genius,.....and I ain't no genius.

I watched a pro shop do this in much shorter time. No talking, just doing. they used much more spray to make sure the window was wet enough at ALL times. This guy doesn't seem to use enough therefore the tint was "falling" off in the corners in the beginning.
Awesome tutorial
Very educational. Thanks a lot, Sir
Way to much info .....when i was 16 and film just came out i did my car and never had a problem . Just taped the film dry to outside of window and used razor to cut to fit ......cleaned window , used soap spray and squegged the bubbles out , no heat gun used either . Worked fine for me and about 1/10th of the work I'm seeing here

@Adam Fears ....It seems most of the vids online do the same so they all in bed together . Only reason im looking is because its been years since i did mine and ready to do my van for Florida . Just clean the window good and then keep it wet with the soap spray so u can work the film and no problems

@Bailey W. You have to try. At least you will know what not to do so you can do it better. Anything is hard at first but if you stay with it you will be able to teach others. Give it a try...
very nice tutorial. thanks for sharing
Very good video thank you!
This guy seems he hates his job 😂 his whole vibe is like “urgh.”
Great video, you make it look so easy! I worked on 1 Window for a couple hours and failed miserably! Off to the tint shop for me : ( Thanks anyway, tho

Yea no kidding, especially at the end where he tucks the tent into the flap at the bottom of the window. That is the part I can see myself screwing up on, but am going to give it a try and if I fail on the 1st window I will also be paying someone.

Dude I would like to say thanks from heart because you looked like you want us to learn fr, thanks alot.
If I were to do this professionally I would tape plastic to the inside to have the water flow off the door instead of saturating it

ALL doors have drain holes in the bottom. Have you never opened a door you've had closed for a couple months and seen water drip out the drain holes?
