Gilbert underperformed spectacularly. Top in centuries and couldn't make any breaks.

@@osirisgolad yea that's interesting how you can reach the final without a single century, that's an interesting bit of trivia for later I meant once they weren't neck-and-neck anymore, he underperformed, especially during the final session, shocking misses by his tournament standards; obviously at the start he was playing well. it's a shame I like his personality/vibe

@@AymanB Yeah exactly, Gilbert just couldn't put a break together during that five frame spell at the end of the third session, that's where it got away from him when it actually looked like he had the momentum right before that happened. It's not that Wilson played particularly spectacularly, he still needed plenty of chances to finish off those five frames if you watch them back.

My money's on him to lift the trophy on Monday night. 😉

@@gordoncockfield if his money would have been on the 8 that got knocked out , you'd have had the same comment 😂 🤣 Yes ,he did win ,however, nothing is a certainty in snooker as we found out after the 1st round was complete 👍 The competition is between the player and the balls . Its a funny old game is snooker where there's luck involved more so than any other sport . As Mark Williams says " you are playing the balls , not the player " Its the least competitive sport between 2 players . Just for your info Jak beat the number 2 so why was it not possible to beat 44 ? 😅😅 🤡
