Free creative negotiation training courtesy of William Ury and you tube This video is excellent - amongst it’s many highlights are: 1. The “creative approach” splits the discussion in two - firstly it expands the size of the “pie” before secondly deciding how to divide the pie. 2. Focus on interests rather than positions by asking “why” questions. Probe behind positions for underlying interests. 3. At 9.57m “our biggest obstacle to getting what we want is ourselves.” Self-mastery first in order to get to yes with others. 4. Don’t react in the moment - go to the metaphorical “mental/emotional balcony” if things get tough. Think, is my reply going to advance my interests. 5. At 16.45m “The greatest power we have in negotiation is not to react.” 6. At 21.53m “Listening is the cheapest concession we can make in a negotiation.” To be successful in negotiation, listen. It is a negotiation super power. 7. At 26.30m “brainstorm jointly as wizards” asking lot’s of what if questions.
My takeaway: 1. understand each party's underlying interest by asking "why" 2. power to go to balcony knowing my interest and not to react by pinching my palm ;)
"Know your BATNA" (Best alternative to the negotiated agreement). Great point to know your options.

Agreed. We need to "stop" first.
Excellent - the most amount of great negotiation knowledge I’ve ever seen packed into 30 minutes - Love some of the language, especially the thought of becoming a “creative, negotiation wizard”
Thank you for uploading!
I love the metaphor. He taught me to CHECK MYSELF. Amen

Awesome. i loved it.
Is the new both, the one who gives the jig and the one who gives the loss? Such as taking control over the time to be one.

There's a lot of useful insight here.
Thank you for writing your book "GETTING TO YES"!
The clarification around how to practice mindful negotiation is a welcome addition to the field. Here'e a brief reading that we've done from 'Getting to Yes': kzread.info/dash/bejne/doOsmtFtdLSXg5s.html

Most people have a havit of thinking about the other person from their point of view. I want to use Yahweh's name to fix the bad habits of people's views. " Sense of view" I think it's a very huge world. What is the essential condition of negotiation to defeat this word? LOOKING at things from the oppsite! WHY?/H=YHWH=360° SEE? エディ55
