CreativeMornings is a breakfast lecture series for the creative community - and so much more. We’re the world’s largest face-to-face creative community; hosting local events every Friday, virtual FieldTrips every week, and jobs postings via the CreativeGuild.
In 2008, Tina Roth Eisenberg (Swissmiss) started CreativeMornings out of a desire for an ongoing, accessible event for New York’s creative community. The concept was simple: a free talk and breakfast one Friday morning a month.
Today, our community gathers in cities around the world to enjoy an inspiring talk, coffee and breakfast. Our volunteer hosts and their teams organize local chapters that not only celebrate a city’s creative talent, but also create an open space to connect with other creative individuals.
We believe that everyone is creative and everyone is welcome. We hope you enjoy this archive of past talks.

when I did building contractor work my boss said that he had to bend over backwards for him to get us a job to do. We effectively became molly maids for half a year. I just ended leaving and getting a job elsewhere that isnt on a maybe. Dont get me wrong I still do contractor work on the side but its on my pay scale no one else's and a lot of time people go to a cheaper person but shortly after call me to fix it.....I charge double only if its someone I gave a price to and they come back to me to fix someone else's mess.
Be aware of Sheryl. She will move illegal terrorists into your neighborhood
What an inspiring talk by Sophie at CreativeMornings! The way she shared her insights and experiences truly resonated with me. Looking forward to more talks like this. Keep up the great work!
So, Esther has been to South Africa????? Maybe my ears are lying to me. Esther has been here??????
Here from Adam Savage Tested in 2024, but is it still relevant?
I go into negotiations asking if they want to pay me more or less. I do not work for Capitalists. Either you want my work and are willing to empty your pockets, or no thank you.
As soon as someone mentions "value" I bail. Business people have no idea what real value is
Need a timestamp for when the bat dance starts

Contracts are how friends stay friends. Contracts are there to protect BOTH parties.

10 Years Ago, still relevant today

She has so much personality!
I remember reading some where Steve Jobs is also a very bad client and often time trying to undercut or refuse to pay, should give him the fuck you pay me.
When someone feels entitled to stick their nose in business that is none of theirs, you tell them f* you e*t sh*t
I got a better one. When someone comes blabbing in your ear about shit you could give a f* about. You say to them, f* YOU SHUT UP.
Great talk. Nicole is a very talented photographer and very brave. She deserves more recognition.

I have dabbled in some freelance over the years. But mainly I have been a full-time employee for the same employer for more than 30 years. I have never had a problem with getting paid for my freelance clients. However, my full-time employer still compensates me as though I were stuck back 30 years ago. Would you recommend getting a lawyer for my next review? there is a handful of highly compensated people at my company that have contracts. However the majority of employees are subject to cost-of-living increases which we know do not do that in any real fashion. Advice please.
Here by recommendation from Adam Savage...after going to the wrong place first. 😆
Adam Savage sent me here too!
I teach private guitar lessons. I used to feel uncomfortable asking for the lesson payments but not anymore. I tell them lesson payments are do at the end of the month. If they don't pay, I'll tell them to come back the next day with payment. I'm not waiting another week to get paid. Sometimes they'll ask, "Do you want me to go the ATM and comeback in a little bit?", as if they are trying to guilt me because that's going to be inconvenient for them. I say, "Yes.", and they do it and get paid.
I paid my guitar teacher at the end of every lesson. No issue on my end, seemed totally reasonable.
@@sector7Gemployee I would require payment for the entire month up front, like paying rent. It reserves the lesson slot. The problem with paying as you go is what if the student doesn't show up on the next lesson? Teacher is waiting and on the following week, the student feels since no lesson took place, no payment is required.
The reference to twitter as just a place for dick jokes, back before the Tumblring happened
Hello Viswanathan sir, In Salem,Tamilnadu my friend wants to recharge the well in his house.Do you know anyone who can do this job. He is very impressed with your idea. thanks sir
"I am a jukebox....when the music stops...put more money in."
"I never, ever talk about clients on Twitter. That relationship is sacred, and Twitter's for um... Twitter's for dick jokes." I think more of Twitter really needs to hear this. With the amount of dirty laundry aired and backhanded smack talked on Twitter, and everything around it being taken way too seriously, Twitter is a hazardous waste dump. Don't get dragged into it, don't add to it.
How many of those people have I seen in movies or other locations?
Thank you Adam Savage

Rutina inghite sacrul. Sanctuarul inghite rutina. Acum cativa ani am intrat pe seara in codrii Vlasiei, la o plimbate, si m-am uitat in sus la stejarii inalti, In canopy batea vantul, sub ei era linistit.
Adug: s-a lasat capturat?
I guess the only time people want to pay good money for art, is when it's with crypto, or they're laundering money. Or both.
Talk Nerdy to me, Jeremy from @Fasterproms1 Younger years, j/k j/k...Much love, great video Guys!
"You don't trust my client?" Trust is earned. I do not know your client, thus I do not trust them. I will extend common human courtesy, but until my trust has been earned, consider yourself on probation.
Wade! I love you like so many. You have taught me life so many lessons, though the years. You lead me to be the captain. I have followed you since my teens. I have woven a colorful tapestry that I love and am proud of. Thank you for your years of story telling, global vision and .. all those things that make us ourselves. Xo
