Will TRT Make Me Gain Muscle? // Testosterone Replacement Therapy Questions

"Will I get ripped on TRT?" It's a common question people have when they start their journey into testosterone replacement therapy. So today, I'm talking about TRT and muscle growth - is it an advantage in the gym?

Great video, thanks. I'm starting TRT this week @ 61 yo. It has taken me more than a year to try and persuade my doc and then switching to a doc in the same building and practice to finally get on it. It's the gel that I'll be taking, Testosterone PMP 1.62% 75G. The last bloodwork I did was 288 testosterone, serum & free testosterone was 5. I have a serious lack of motivation and drive so I'm really hoping this works for me. I appreciate how you broke it down as to what needs to be done by me besides just taking the drug. Wish me luck!

I appreciate how you explained that yes it can help but not if a person does not put in the work in all aspects of health. Unfortunately there are people out there that think test is a magical thing that puts the effort in for you. I am considering TRT treatment and researching what I can. Thank you for the honest information.

Steroids absolutely are the magic pill lol tons of studies out there show that you can grow muscle without even working out. In fact there's a great KZread video out on that exact topic where the steroid users who didn't work out built more muscles than the guys who didn't use it and worked out lmao. This entire comment section is completely delusional juice heads coping and pretending like they're not causing long-term damage

I’m a 27 year old going on 28 come May. I got blood work done last week and the results came in on Saturday. I got blood work done because these past few years I’ve been feeling depressed, low energy, moody, etc. I finally woke up and told myself that it’s not normal to be feeling this way. So that’s when I decided to get blood work done. My results read as follows. Testosterone 78, Calc free testosterone 17, Creatinine .57. As you can see it’s extremely low, and I have setup an appointment at a trt clinic this upcoming Thursday hoping for some good news and a change in my life for the better.

Energy, came off all my anti depressants, finally put back on some weight ( I had gotten down to like 130lbs and looked sick) I’m right at 175 now, feel great, got my confidence back! The hair growth on chest and face has increased too. trt isnt enough to get you jacked alone as you said you work out like alot, to get jacked you need to add other Ped's in to make a difference along with a ton of hard work

Im 57 and on 200mg of Cypionate a week. Im now into my 2nd shot of my 2nd 10ML bottle and I have mixed results. First off, Im still dragging ass early to mid afternoon. So the extra energy other TRT users talk about isn’t something Im experiencing unfortunately. I struggle to go to the gym after work for sure. Since I started in August, Ive most definitely put on some nice muscle mass. Shocking how my chest blew up and filled in nicely. With that said,….my belly fat hasn’t dropped. 😢. I eat pretty clean and barely eat any carbs, and just about NEVER eat sugar. I yesterday said enough’s enough and restarted full blown strict Keto to shed the belly. I did Keto 4 years ago and lost 47 lbs in 4.5 months. I was jacked. The key with Keto is cutting ALL CARBS & SUGAR,….but very important is eating as low amount of calories you can mentally take. Eating a small amount of food is a serious mind fuck that you will have to figure out. Eating satiating foods will without a doubt help you, but like I’ve told friends who saw me cut,…..if you ain’t hungry then you are eating way too much! For me to get cut like I was I was pretty much always hungry, hence me saying it’s a mind fuck! Hoping to be jacked (6 pack) again by January/February. I go to the gym 5-6 days a week and lift & then do cardio for at least 30-45 minutes.

When I hit 35, things changed and the depression, weight gain, anxiety, pain, etc has been a nightmare. Even sex drive went down. It was still there but not like it used to be. Blood work always came back fine. I even lost 20 pounds - blood levels were all fine. Finally got my T checked. It was at 88! My Free T was at 12. I felt so relieved as to finally have some answers!! I'm a month in so far (1 packet of gel each day - 20mg per day) & feel better but still not 100%. It's great to finally start to get my life back!! I am 34, excellent health and in great shape. But energy was low for many years. My total was in the low 300s for years. Finally started 100mg cypionate 1x per week. It's day 4, and I felt better than I have in a decade - maybe ever. Important to find a good doctor, though. Not only labs, but physical, EKG, echocardiogram, etc. Messing with your hormones is no joke. But it can be done safely and hugely improve your life. The funny part is, I am already pretty ripped... Physically I look great. My test tho has been crap. Figured it's worth a shot of a moderate dose.. No pun intended. Best of luck dudes. Edit: I totally agree it's from food. So many 'forever chemicals" are known endocrine disruptors. My doc actually said that in her experience, the more in shape and healthy you are, the more you will respond positively to TRT. You sound like a good candidate for it.

Doc won’t prescribe me trt even tho my levels are low but I found a trusted source and bought some test from them I’m trying to do 160-175 mg test a week and keep getting blood work every 9-12 weeks any thoughts?

Im not a doctor and can’t make many suggestions here. I know blood work is crucial. I would try to find another opinion. If you truly need it somone would prescribe. My understanding is primary’s don’t put to big of a focus on this.

I don't think you can speak for everyone and their results. You work out twice a day 5 to 7 days a week? I honestly think you're overtraining. I started TRT 8 months ago and I'm pretty damn ripped now after TRT. Burned alot of fat off and haven't hit the gym yet. I used to train 20 years ago and built up alot of muscle so maybe I'm seeing the muscle memory come back just by injecting my 100mg of testosterone once a week. I think every one can expect different results depending on their genetics.

I 100% agree with what you're saying. Everyone reacts differently to everything. My main point is that it most of the time still takes work to be fit and its not a magic shot. Thats awesome that you have seen such positive results.

I just saw the doctor yesterday and he increased the dose to two pumps per shoulder each day.does anyone know if this gel actually does work? It’s definitely a testosterone replacement therapy. It’s just not the injections if anyone could answer that would be great. Thank you.
