Arsenal finished 8th Last 2 seasons. How is just missing out of the top 4 (of which 3 places are already guaranteed) by 2 points a bad result? Thats improvement and if you keep improving thats all that can be asked. The premier league has became such an insanely competitive competition that to finish top 4 you need to be both very special, and also some luck. This is the closest they've been since 2018/2019 season. Also when you consider just how young that team is.

Not a failure but not a sucess either. More like an improvement from the last two seasons. Having said that Arsenal has benefitted from United and Leicester's downfall. Next season will be very tough on Arsenal

Without top 4, it would be really hard for Arsenal to attract top players for next season. And from next season the competition for top 4 will only increase. Arsenal fans talk about their young team and the having the likes of Saka, ESR, Martinelli, Ødegaard. No doubt they are good talents and pretty young but how long will Arsenal be able to keep hold of them if they don't get CL football.

@@rashidkhalid3970 Kane did want to leave last season but the board wasn't willing to sell him. The likes of Saka, Ødegaard, Martinelli have their contract until 2024-25 season. Good luck extending their contract beyond that without CL football.

What people don’t understand is the reason Manchester City is so successful under pep is because there is no Egos in that team, and Pep is the best development coach in the world, AE Foden, Messi, De Bruyne, Sterling.

It's a half success. I can clearly see the first eleven with a game plan. Other than that, they only have to compete with Man United, Totenham. Now they are ahead of Man United, lol. leicester is losing a lot of power because Vardy gets old.

Tbh tottenham may qualify for top 4 in next upcoming seasons but given the personality both conte and levy have I give him 2 seasons more before he gets sacked. Plus by 2024 kane contract will run out and then he may leave. Son alone can't keep tottenham so they along with leicester will decline. As for man u they will take like atleast 5 more yrs to be even considered as contenders for major trophies so I guess for now they will first want to get back to top 4 and win cup trophies to end their silverware drought. As for arsenal they will finish top 4 but at the same time will not be contenders for major honors Newcastle will slowly make their way up and will start competing for top 4 and some trophies. Plus when both pep and klopp leave their respective clubs the status quo of the league will change drastically.

The lack of reinforcements in January was a big turning point. Meanwhile, Spurs added Bentancur and Kulusevski which proved pivotal because they’ve still had to fill out their bench with children.

Fact is it was under Emery that we got martinelli , Saka , ESR . That was emery who gave them the chance not arteta . Arteta has got rid of our best striker , arguably one of our best midfielders and one of our best Center defenders . Aubameyang, Guendouzi and saliba . The last two being included on the French international team . Explain to me why they can make the cut for the French team that is full of good footballers but aren’t good enough to make it at arsenal ? Oooo yes because of artetas stubborn ego

The Premier League is more competitive than ever. Not every one of the top teams is guaranteed a top four position any more. Not to mention Newcastle will be buying their way to the top in a few years. Finishing fifth in this league is actually a pretty big accomplishment, despite the lack of Champions League.

i think everybody is incorrect to a certain degree, expectations are made before the season and Arsenal have been overperforming so fans got inflated expectations. As an Arsenal fan, we were a mid table club the last 2 seasons, nobody prior to this season expected top 4, Europa league was the goal and we got it.

Arsenal are not hated we just like the reaction of their fans when they lose

Rob-O, water your trees and bushes, thoroughly once a week. You want to turn on your hose and have it just drip very slowly and let it saturate the ground for about 6 hours. A SLOW drip. Also, do not, I repeat, do not put wood mulch around the base of your tree. You are basically putting rotting wood on the feet of your tree, keeping too much moisture on it's root. Roots need to dry, especially if they are not water plants. If you must "mulch" your tree, use compost, preferably leaf and kitchen/food/green yard waste. You need at least 3x the amount of leaves to "green waste/food scraps(no meat)". Otherwise any other compost will do. You can go from about 6 inch from the trunk all the way out to the drip line, depending on tree size of course. Do these things and you'll give them the best shot to survive and stay disease free. Good Luck! Edit: The watering schedule is for when you haven't had significant rain in a week. Say 1-2 inch over a decent amount of time. Also once the trees are established there is generally no need to water unless there's drought.

@Johan Kay yes he was, great player with loads of talent but he wouldn’t fit with the system at play. Probably could’ve gotten more from him in the first half of the season. But it was shown that the younger players fit the system more. For me it was the lack of squad depth that killed the season. Perhaps with the manager not being backed in January with the opportunity to cement top 4 or arrogance we will never know. Spurs saw blood and they reinforced.

The expectation was to climb the table and get back into Europe. Arsenal have achieved that. Nobody, not even Arsenal fans, expected the gunners to go into a top 4 race right until the end of the season. The starting XI is young and inexperienced, and the reserves are mostly garbage. Keeping all that in mind, Arsenal have done well this season. They've hit their targets. They'd just be shattered they couldn't hold onto 4th spot in the end. Champions League would have been too much, too soon for this squad anyway. They wouldn't have coped with playing against some of Europe's best midweek, then backing it up on the weekend in the premier league. They're still 2 seasons away from realistically being able to do that.

minus the start and end of the season, arsenal were great, its a shame all the setbacks we had, we really could and maybe should have finished fourth this year, regardless of the expectations at the start of the season, i think most fans would have been happy to let arteta go if we finished below 6th tho so its a strange one. still has to be seen as a failure after the finish to the seaso. i supose.

If Arsenal came from 6th position and finish 5th, nobody will even complain not to mention the season being a failure. These idea is coming because Arsenal were at some point close to going above Chelsea into 3rd place, looked to have 4th place nailed down and within 2 matches have bottled it. It just feels like we let it slip through our hands. To me it's not a failed season. It's actually a good one considering where we were last season. But I'm disappointed we let it slip 😢

He is also there to rebuild the team, and build it around Youth and Talent. The only reason its a failure is because how much money we spent but remember in October they were expecting Arteta to be fired by Christmas. We were just above relegation 2 months into the season. And spurs have world class players in their prime. Arsenal signed kids because it was a long term project to challenge for the title in 3-5 years and they are on course.

As an arsenal fan it's not a failure. Firstly, let's put the most money spent argument in context, Arsenal spent the most money while simultaneously culling and rebuilding a mid table squad. Also, let's look at the season as a whole and look back at the times when Arteta was being considered first manager sacked. My only thing is the number of players we've sent on loan, the squad is wafer thin. And I believe that a lot of players are playing with knocks, saka included.

@@hodlcrypto6026 emery was in 8th place when arteta took over. And the only reason emery last that long was because aubameyang single handedly carried the team on his back.

It’s failure. Finishing 5th isn’t an achievement especially for a club the size of Arsenal

Of course it's a failure for arsenal not won a domestic cup also 4th place look gone they had all the time in the world no European football full time for preparation

Arsenal have massively overachieved this season..the kids are learning and next season with the addition of a couple of quality signings could be again challenging for that 4th place.

It’s not just the failure to reach top 4 but just as big of a failure was Arsenals performances in the domestic cups. Early exits and not reaching champions league is a pretty underwhelming season

Lossing 0-2 to Liverpool in a semi final where our best midfielder was out for afcon and our fullbacks were barely fit cause of injury yeah we crashed out alright 🙄
